    Hi Jonny! I really love your work here. I got a little kid whom I show this video to, just before bedtime. It's amazing, first his eyes widens, smile on his face, and then his head nods to the rhythm, and little by little he softly falls to sleep, until he sleeps soundly with a smile still on his face. It's so beautiful, I wish you could see that. My English isn't good enough to describe it.. XD
    You have no idea how much it means to me, since my job doesn't allow me to be near my kid very often, thank you for bringing such warmth to a rare evening we got to spend together. God bless you! Please keep doing what you do.

      Wow! Thank you Wijarnko. That is very touching and means a lot to me. You sound like a great dad and your kid is lucky to have you. I am honored to have contributed to such a special moment for you and him. Stay in touch and keep the music alive in your heart.

    • @JonnyMay
      @JonnyMay  8 лет назад

      Thanks! The settings are pretty standard - EQ is level, I think the piano sample I used is the default grand piano when you turn the keyboard on. Built in reverb is set to a moderate level.

    how long does it take you to master a song usually? it sounds really effortless

    • @JonnyMay
      @JonnyMay  8 лет назад +4

      Depends on the song. Most of my jazzier songs I don't arrange in one session - they sort of morph over the years as I improvise them again and again and again. So this is technically an improvisation, so I mastered it in the moment I suppose.

    Hey Jonny.
    I've been playing piano for 5 years now and I want to make it big for me.
    Any tips?

    • @JonnyMay
      @JonnyMay  8 лет назад +11

      Haha there is a long answer to that question and I can't say that I have the one and only answer. But for starters, my advice is to get in the habit of playing in front of people. Record your music and share it openly (a lot of pianists are too critical and never share their work even when it is exceptional). Also, playing gigs is a great way to hone your skill. I played for many restaurants and private parties before I was hired as the Disneyland Pianist and started my RUclips channel. Lastly, and possibly most importantly, don't give up!
