Love your videos and style. I've just started YT (long form) and your videos have really helped me redirect my approach. Scripts written and better style content in the works to drop soon. Thanks.
Bravo! I still edit on a 2013 iMac. Get what you NEED not what Tim Cook tells you you need. Hollyland btw, makes some good stuff. Truth be known, I also have a 2017 MBP for multitrack audio work I do. 24 tracks baby.
This was awesome man, you got some great and well needed kit instead and you still have a great MacBook to work from anyways. Great lesson in thinking twice about impulse buying. I’m the end you still ended up with some $ left. Great video again buddy.
Just discovered your channel, and am inspired! I do have a question though... Where did you buy the MacBook Pro you returned? The reason I ask is that recently I bought a MacBook Air M2 from B&H. I have always been a PC user and because of the amount of influencers using Mac products, thought I would give it a try. It only took a couple of weeks to realize that not only was there a learning curve, but I already own all the software I need like Adobe CC suite on my PC. I submitted my request to return, only to be emailed back and was told that I couldn't return a laptop after it has been taken out of the box. I hope to hear from you or anyone, where I should shop in the future for computers and A/V gear. Thank you!
Hey man I came across a few of your videos and I like the input that you had on some certain things. I kind of did what you did where I started for a while and then I fell off and now I'm back into it. And this time I'm trying to do the same thing where I do a video at least once a week. I just got a laptop a few weeks ago a very nice one I had been doing everything on my phone as far as editing. I'm just curious what kind of editing software you're using I'm starting with DaVinci resolve and there's some things I like and don't like about it. It's definitely been a huge learning curve.
@@DarrenNaylor creating intros and outros. I used capcut and imported the videos to DaVinci. I actually came across your video after this comment of you liking it a whole lot. So I'm going to stick with it and just get it down and maybe in time I learn to love it 🤙🏻
Thanks for sharing your impulsive spending with us. I’m guilty of doing the same anytime I see someone doing what I want to be doing, I assume that if I have the same gear, I can produce the same results. Question: Is the $3000 you spent earned from selling your work or an alternative income stream? (day job?). I’ve convinced myself that I’m not allowed to spend any more until I sell something first.
That's a great question and great point. The funny thing is most of the gear is so similar and the result comes more from the skill and experience. I used to think a camera alone led to an amazing finished product before I knew anything about color grading, lighting, etc... haha As for the money spent, I did sell a big painting recently but I own a couple businesses so I don't rely solely on art or acting/filmmaking as income (since that can be hard to do). So I just try to make investments in equipment that will get alot of use or I start to feel guilty about it.
I own a couple different businesses, including a gym, but I do also have acting and painting income that’s here and there when artwork sells or I book an acting gig. So some of the stuff I have like the MacBook were initially for business but I now use it for filmmaking related things like editing as well.
@@DarrenNaylor thank you for your openness. Most kind and very much appreciated. I am actually a filmmaker with a university degree. And due to dwindling work in film I am looking for something else to make money. Would you mind to tell me more about your civic businesses? I need help. Thank you very much. If you have any questions about profession of filmmaking or the advertising movie and film business in Berlin Germany just ask. Thank you very much most kind.

Great idea!
1K nits isn't great for any sunlight, overcast maybe but you'll definitely need a sunhood for any bright days
Ya, now that I've taken it out I see what you mean. Luckily most things I do are indoors but I'll grab a hood just in case. Appreciate it, bro.
Good review!! Thank you
Appreciate it!

I use Davinci for everything. I think it's much better than my experience with Premiere Pro. What don't you like about it?
