When I stay in Bangkok I use a hotel called Drop Inn, located in a small soi of soi 20 its a really good hotel, quiet at night and close enough to all that you want, the staff are great and the rooms are clean and bright
You really need to test some of these budget accomadations for a few days before committing. A lot of older units have old plumbing and make toilets smell horrendous, not to mention insects like mosquitoes, ants and cockroaches. They can be covered up with air freshener for a day or 2, but it comes back with a vengeance after hot water or showers run.
Make sure to check different travel sites and read hotel reviews BEFORE booking. Besides, what someone considers "budget" hotel may not be so for someone else. Novotel on soi 4, for example, at 85+ euros per night is not really a budget hotel.
I am a Thai from Chiang Mai, living in CA, USA. But I have not visited Bkk for a long time. We are coming to Thailand and going to visit Bkk. Thank you so much for the tips of where we should stay. You are the best.
I always stay on soi 22 at the “admiral suites” it’s just over £30 a night but you actually get a superior suite! You get a proper kitchen area, an actual living room, separate bedroom, big bathroom, 2 balconies, a small pool on the roof and a small breakfast included…😅
The Ibis has small rooms and thin walls so getting disturbed by noisy guests is a possibility. Petals Inn & Orchard Inn are not the same places, I've stayed at Petals Inn before and it's a good cheap hotel if all you need is somewhere to stay while you explore the rest of Bangkok. I've walked past Orchard and never been tempted to give it a try, looks a bit old now.
Hey Arsen, I love Soi 11, it's been a long time favorite. The Eleven Hotel Bangkok is my pick, and sits atop the German Beer House, an excellent restaurant for a great lunch or dinner. I highly recommend it to everyone for a good hotel, central location and access to transportation. I'm planning on returning in May, and I'm going to try the Manhattan Hotel, it's slightly less than The Eleven Hotel, and closer to things I want to visit. Go to hear your recommending it.
The only thing I miss in Soi 11 is Cheap Charlie's bar. An eclectic bar on the street, which had reasonably priced drinks, and a great meeting spot to start your night.
Congratulations to you for your remarkable videos from Bangkok, Thailand this March of 2023 to explains how the city of Bangkok looks liked & how to spends your great vacations in Thailand in 2023❤❤❤

Having stayed in some dumps, I've decided that I won't go back until I can afford 6-star all the way. So many high-end hotels in central BKK - many of them less than five years old - time to aim up :D
Question firs time trying to go to bangkok hopefully next year do you recommend reserving the hotel before arriving in the country or just walk around and find hotel when landing?
I’m staying at travel lodge sukmuvit 11 on may 8 my first night it’s around 83 dollars are night Australian dollars But I’m staying free because I used my qantas rewards points to pay for it I never earn enough points to use for plane flights but it’s handy for using pay my accomodation ,arsen if you can look up how far that is from Soi cowboy I think it’s only 15 min walk from Soi cowboy to travel lodge I think sukmuvit Soi 11 is probarly closer to nana bts more then Asoka aye
Try Salil Hotel in soi 11 next time, it’s a great budget and guest friendly hotel, never had a problem there. I’ve been going there since 2016.. They also have one at soi 55 ( I think? ) at thonglor, but that’s too far out for me.. Im saving my QFF for flights! Salil is around $50-$60 AUD per night.
Perfect area to be in the middle of everything. Which one of these places did you say have a pool and a gym? I usually stay at ruamchit for the pool but pay a little bit extra
Trinity hotel next to trinity complex (has 3bedroom appartments) has an olympic swimming pool, a very good gym. And very close to chong nonsi BTS station, and king power mahanakhon tower. Has a market in the morning just around the corner for some fresh streetfood, a villa supermarket on the rightside of the hotel, Patpong nightmarket 15 min walk. I stayed with 2 friends and we rented a 3 bedroom condo for 3500 baht a day, well worth the price.

I wouldn't agree that all of these are budget hotels in Bangkok. You suggest some international chain hotels which are more expensive than small local places. You can find much cheaper hotels in Bangkok. The one thing to be said in favor of these places is they will be of a higher standard westerners will appreciate - but you will pay for it. How about a video on hotels in bangkok under $20? That would be a better definition of budget in Thailand!
