Aloha Eric!!! I totally appreciate you and your channel I started watching you oct 2020 Last night I had my first gig as a percussionist It felt like you were with me the entire set Also, I incorporated this lesson shaker/conga Mahalo for all your kokua
A lot of younger conga players are concerned with 3 or more congas and the flutter between slaps and tones. When you're playing with an electric band, the conga slaps, tones, and bells and shakers are all that usually cuts through the mix.Plus,if you're sitting down, don't look down at your hands and the drums.Make eye contact with the audience, they want to/are air drumming with you, lol.Be entertaining, not too technical. You're playing for fans and dancers, not to impress other percussionists.
