- Nieky Holzken burst onto the ONE global stage in emphatic fashion with an incredible knockout over Cosmo Alexandre at ONE: WARRIOR’S DREAM. The Dutch superstar was in total control right from the opening bell, dropping his Brazilian adversary twice in the first frame. Though, Alexandre came back stronger in the second frame, “The Natural” put the bout to bed with a rocket uppercut to knock out the Brazilian later in the round.

Kickboxing in a cage is so much better than in a ring. They arent getting caught up in the ropes and need to break every 5 seconds it has a much better flow to it.

The problem with the cage is it basically stops you from throwing roundhouse kicks when the opponent is backed up against it
People don't really get caught up in the ropes in kickboxing, though.
It's a real problem in MMA because it's easy to get between the ropes during grappling exchanges, but for standup fighting the ropes are perfectly fine.
Manteiv Mayweather was a master at that shoulder shrug. In slow mo is where you can truly see the artistic value in his style of evasive head movement

Northcutt showed poor defense. That's how you fight a guy like this, hands up at all time, using your jab, pick him apart, footwork. Sage failed at all these because he has garbage boxing.
You could see the impending outcome after 30 seconds into the fight. That Dutchman had vastly superior skills.

@Jesse Cantrell the thing that I think attracts people to One Championship is the fact that they have Muay Thai and Kickboxing events alongside mma fights on their cards. I personally love it as well. It's great having a few Muay Thai/Kickboxing matches in between the mma bouts. Sometimes they end up being better than the mma

I love this promotion. Great fights, awesome talent and they post these for the fans to watch for free to promote the sport. These guys are doing it right. Even the hydration tests to keep the athletes from cutting weight. I hope they keep having a ton of success.

Nieky is one guy that can perform to a high level in every strking art really, very talented and a true legend. He done well vs Smith considering it's Smiths fulltime job to Box and is vastly more experinced in that part of striking.
He doesn't have the head movement and footwork to be an elite boxer.
He looked very stiff against Callum Smith.

It's kinda nostalgic whenever I watch Nieky fight. I still remember I was 5 yrs old in 2005. There were few kickboxing channels on tv & it was probably June or July & that was the first time I saw him fight & he won by tko. I have been a fan ever since & now I am 21 yrs old. Time passes so quickly
His style has carried so well across generations of fighters and promotions. And he's still knocking out high level opponents today, arguably looking as good as ever. What a beast.

@Roy Fokker not really. Depends on the person. In most cases, sure.. but on average, guys are at their best in their late twenties to early to mid thirties. Most people dont even get a title shot until they're 30+. Mike tyson wasnt out of his prime when he started losing.. he just starting facing better opponents later on. He couldnt beat world class fighters that were in their primes.. everytime he fought one, he got knocked out.
