Old time phones. I loved using them. Best part, phone fit snugly between shoulder and jaw while talking. Could continue to bake, polish our nails or sweep while talking. Miss 'em.

Picture rails are fabulous. Our previous house had them. I especially missed them at Christmas.
I always thought apartment buildings without elevators should have a dumb waiter to save people lugging their groceries, etc, up.

My maternal grandmother had a yellow(appliance) kitchen, with a yellow rotary phone. The wallpaper was tea-cup, her sister had the same wallpaper! An orange Kitchen-Aid mixer(my sister has that).A raised ranch, brick house next to a people's cemetary, no paranormal issues. The cemetary was pretty, calming and the residents ,quiet!

When I was 12 my mom got me a pink princess phone for my bedroom. I would love to have a Hosier cabinet , they sure would come in handy to those of us who enjoy baking. I would also love to have a laundry shoot.

So…landline telephones (since you seem to be conflating rotary and touch tone here) “didn’t stand the test of time” even though they have been around for over 100 years and are still in use today? You need some a AI content creator, American Memory.

Japan still has picture rails. They are about 6 feet high. They are usually combined with wallpapered walls and ceilings. Overhead light fixtures have a twist and clip connection.

I would gladly have my wall phone with the very long cord today. I could talk and still get my work done.

Hoosier Cabinets can be warm and nostalgic if they are well-made and maintained. The roll-top door has a fabric tape that deteriorates with age. The slide-out metal work table was not very sturdy when used for mixing batters. The usable working surface was narrow. I liked Grandma's cabinet best for storing a few items in the same place. Deep storage still required a pantry. I had picture rails installed in our new home. Then I did not like the look of the chains and wires on the walls. The rails still made a pleasant decorative feature.

Yeah, the "Touch Tone "phones saved so much time when making a call, so you had time to do important fun things, like read a book or see a movie, or visit the Grand Canyon, all thanks to the time saver "touch tone" phone!1 Run on sentences will wear you out, such a drag, like ruminating over the past!

Our old house had picture rails and we used them. Of course, we also had lath and plaster so we really didn't have a choice.

Very cool video, I think the most surprising was the boot scraper! Never heard of them.

Not many of us living in A.E.C. housing in Los Alamos knew that the living room moulding was actually picture railing. I was at a neighbor's house where they had hung a fancy mirror from the railing, when I learned its purpose.

I will never like/notify/or subscribe to a channel that constantly continuously asks for them before and during a video... in fact it's an automatic thumbs down because it means you only care about click counts and ad revenue.
