    One thing I've wanted from bolt action for years is a campaign system, and this seems pretty good. Cant wait to see you guys play it.

    It's a very light version of Axis & Allies board game, then! :) Just kidding, really like the concept.

      There really is a lot of nuance from those cards - which I really liked.

    Thanks for the excellent overview!
    I'm curious, how ruleset agnostic is it? I.e. could you use the campaign system and then just play, for example, flames of war, bag the hun, chain of command, and naval thunder?

      Yes and no... as you might expect. You can easily switch systems for the battles- so 500 point pieces in this game for Bolt Action could easily be 50 point armies in Flames of War etc...
      The problem you will run into is how translatable the campaign cards are to whatever system you are using. You definitely can do it, but you would need to houserule a bit of that stuff. As long as you have healthy gaming relationship with your opponent it should be fine.

    Sounds fun. Very curious how this ties into Warlords main games.

    Interesting idea - given how long campaigns take you'll need to keep that board set up for a long time - guess it's simple enough to take a photo of for reference and pack it away though. Looking forward to seeing how it all works in practice, it does look fun though. Oh and yeah, he's good, but he's no Michael Caine.

    Question;
    Does Konflikt '47 count as Bolt Action Game for campaigns of Combined Arms?

      Yes of course

      Don't see why not - as long as you have armies of similar points value, or you can easily adjust them to a standard match size - frankly you could play just about any WW2 game - you just need to set the armies at values that are standard for a particular game.

    Hi there.
    The problem is the scale if you want to combine it with other miniature wargames.
    Here you're moving "armies" in complete theaters of war...and as a result you move a "few" miniatures in a tabletop game...feels kind of odd to me.
    I would have prefered scaled done maps (not complete Cyrenaica or Normandy for example) with a few, positionable terrain characteristics (forrest, village, bridge etc.). This would fit way better than "giant military operation...to...12 soldiers and a tank" scale.

      I know what you mean, and you are completely right. But I never felt Bolt Action is anything even close to a simulation game - it is a WW2 'themed' game that is fun to play and easy to learn.

    Memoir 44 anyone?

      It is a lot less involved a battle game than memoir '44 - copmbat mechanics are extremely basic - it is obviously designed as a battle generator for miniatures games with the option to leave out one or all of the components land/sea/air.
