I remember doing it with my dad in Albany Ny and we saw more rust than solid steel and didn’t think the trucks could look so good. Junk yard in SC would be running the streets in upstate
If you’re ever up North and have a chance to visit a junkyard there….. you’ll be amazed how they stack Silverados like cords of wood. 😂 No wonder the LS is so cheap.
The step side ford, the rear is most definitely a 9 inch, and probably a 31 spline since it was apparently a 4wd. they never put anything smaller in the fords once they began, until the 8.8 came out.
I use to be a junkyard rat for Chevy and some old 65 Ford truck parts now it's time for it to go and I'm in SC near the coast. Junkyards have got a bit more organized since I was in one. Nice video watch out for rattlesnakes they are here .
Thanks for the tip about the snakes and for taking the time to watch and comment. Drop us an email when you get ready to sell. We might just be interested in some. 😎 Ridgerunnerratrods@gmail.com
Not sure how we could get it transported safely up here... But I need the windshield out of that 79 Ford Short Bed....I'm going to get going on my 79 F100 Short Bed here soon.
I was a military kid....lived in Plattsburgh & outside Rome, NY as a kid. Also Ohio, NH, & MA- also lived abroad in several countries, but finally settled in the PNW until 2020 (I hate the politics there) when we moved to NC. I brought a '76 Valiant V8 sedan (free), a '91 TC convertible (cheap & low miles), a '76 Travco 320 (inherited), have a '69 Dart Swinger coming from Texas (BB swap done by the original owner in '79 & parked in '82), and another WA car- an '89 Plymouth cop car (also free, complete & solid) will be here this Fall. I will not touch a "Rust belt" car...funny thing? My wife hates my "Old metal" except for the '99 F350, which is "Useful." It's 25' long...crew cab, 4WD, Warn bumper & winch combo bought it from a friend's dad's estate for cheap. We stripped it down, re-did a whole lot of it (mechanical & cosmetic), put in a navigation system & radio scanner- all in, I've got about $20K in it. Few people have caught the Seekins Ford; Fairbanks, Alaska dealer plate holder on it.
Cool video. Next time get the brackets and pulleys off that sbc in the Mercedes. That stuff is getting hard to find and is better than the China stuff.
Spent my whole childhood wondering around "junk yards" with my Dad and Mom, brings back memories! Thanks
Thanks David! We should plan a day and hit some other local yards. 😎 Thank you for your support!

A trip to the junk yard is always a good day!😀🍻 Thanks for taking us along!
Absolutely! Just a typical weekend around here. Always up to something. Glad you enjoyed it. 😎
Wow a woman that knows the firing order of a Chevy V8 - thats a keeper for many lifetimes !!! Great video !!
Kevin here: Couldn’t agree more! She is amazing! Thank you for watching.
The wife is a cougar damn! 🔥
Yes she is! Absolutely agree!
If you've got a lady that enjoys going to a junk yard that means she's a keeper for sure
Kevin here: No doubt about it!!! Not letting this one go! 😁
The back of that first forklift you looked at would be a wild front end for a truck
@@Darkwahya420 Like the way you think!!😎
@ridgerunnergarage thanks I appreciate it I just found you alls channel I'm so glad I came across it
@@Darkwahya420 So happy to hear that! We appreciate you watching. Completely new to this so stick with us. We’re still learning. 😁
Ive lived in the upper part of South Carolina my whole life so im used to all this stuff. Still like going to the pick a part any day

Got my junk yard fix, Thanks!
First time filming one our trips there. Always something cool just sitting there. Thanks for watching! 😁

Just came back from SC .
Was going to stop at a couple yards on 501, but just didn't have room for parts
I can understand that. If you could only see the way we came back from last year’s Power Tour….. we looked liked the Clampetts! 😂😂😂
@@ridgerunnergarage we got to see only one stragler coming back from power tour towards Myrtle Beach. Nice white 64 Chevy ii sounded great.
@@tilt213 Love Power Tour! Already looking forward to 2024! 🏁😎
You are truly a blessed man your wife is gorgeous and this sweet as can be
Kevin here: You are 💯 correct Sir! I am beyond lucky!!!
I'm so glad this was about cars because I really didn't want to see you play with your junk!! Hah
😂😂😂 Love it! Made you wonder though….. 😂😂😂
That notch was 5 lug swapped and that k member I think was setup for a small block Chevy. Highly
sought after stuff.
You’re absolutely right! Thought it was for a Chevy also. There were LS parts in the back.
love me some junkyard
Never know what you’re gonna find! Fun way to spend a Saturday. 😎
Old forklift had a 235 Chevy motot.
Thank you! Thought it was a 258. 😎

Glad to hear you’re going to start working on that. I’d suggest getting a new one off EBay but if need be, we’ll make it happen my friend. 😎
That green c10 short bed .
U need to buy and build that . Its cool in light blue
Unfortunately, they won’t sell “whole” vehicles. There’s several we’d like to drag home. 😎
Patience or a big hammer 😅😂😂😂😂
Sometimes ya gotta do whatcha gotta do! 😂😂😂

Sounds like we’re cut from the same cloth. I could visualize each of those cars as I was reading your comment.

@@ridgerunnergarage that's why I'm building a barn, 😆-
@@olikat8 Stay tuned… a barn and acreage aren’t far off for us as well.
@@ridgerunnergarage nice!
@@ridgerunnergarage we just may have to meet in the future!
Here where I live on Long Island; we are not even allowed to traverse the junk yards like you are doing in this video.
Oh man, that sucks!
Thats a New York Flintstone Jeep, did i forget to mention I am an upstate New Yorker.
It’s pretty bad! Lots of folks from New York and Ohio downtown here now. Loving SC. ☀️

You’re so right. We also saw a Camaro with brackets and thought the same thing. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Cars really don't rust out in North and South Carolina I lived in North Carolina for 35 years now I'm back in the rust belt southern Pennsylvania
Southern PA is beautiful. Heading North for a visit in a few weeks. Thank you for watching!
What’s the name of the junk yard? I need that red steering wheel.
Thank you
Blue & Gold in Goose Creek, SC. 😎
I'm from Rhode Island I've seen some rot
Right?!?! We’re originally from NY and so many of these vehicles would have been rotted through. Thank you for watching! 😎
Bet you you cant do a burn out in a boat.
Like a boss no doubt!
