Distance : Québec City is approx. 800 km from Toronto, a 7.5 to 8 hours drive and a 2.5 hour drive from Montréal. It is the capital city of Canadian Province of Québec.
History: Before 1763, most of Québec was part of New France and as a result the common language was French. The French colonists who came to New France were from the north (Brittany, Normandy, Ile-de-France) so the language was influenced by the dialects from these regions. The French lost the battle to British in 1759-60.
It is a great place to visit if you admire French Architecture, history and arts. Summer and fall are the best seasons to visit and in winter to enjoy the magical Christmas season in Québec.
    Trip Planning :
3-4 days trip can be planned if you know which places/attractions you want to visit and explore. I hope this video will help you plan a memorable visit to the amazing Québec City and its myriad attractions.
I took a tour of the city on the hop-on-hop-off bus, first, before deciding which places I want to go back to and spend more time at. After the bus tour, I decided, I want to visit Notre dame Basilica, Citadelle de Québec, Dufferin Terrace - the boardwalk of Château Frontenac, the artisans alleyway to admire the art of local artists, Old Québec and its cobblestone streets - Place Royale, Petit Champlain, the famous Funiculaire and of course some time in the Christmas Store(in separate video).
I left Battlefields park(Plains of Abraham), Parliament Hill, Old Port, cruise on the Saint Lawrence river and an inside tour of Château Frontenac for my next visit :) The availablity of some of the guided tours didn't suit my itinerary, so I had to miss them and noted them in my travel diary for next time. It's best to book these tours well in advance. Also for next time, an old fashioned Québec cuisine at the restaurant, Aux Anciens Canadiens, one of the oldest homes(1675) converted to a restaurant.
If you have the time, you can include these places in your trip.
In this video join me to visit:
    - Old Québec - partial ( Petit champlain, Place Royale, Funiculaire in the Day 3 video)
    - Masks of Bordeaux
    - Château Frontenac
    - Plains of Abraham
    - Fontaine de Tourny - Tourny Fountain
    - Parliament Hill
    - Québec City Convention Centre
    - Cabinet du premier ministre du Québec
    - Gare du Palais railway station
    - Rue de Tresor - The artisans alleyway.
    - Maison François-Jacquet-Dit-Langevin located at 34, rue Saint-Louis, built in the late 17th century(1675), is one of the oldest residences in all of Québec, which is now transformed in a restaurant.
