3:51 note that allocating more than 8-10 gigs of ram can make the game run worse because of the java garbage collection system. i recommend allocating 4-6 gigs of ram if you won't use distant horizons (or other heavy mods) but 8-10 if you use them. also most of the modpacks runs well with 8-10 gigs. allocating more than 10 can make the game run worse as i said. btw, you can optimize ram usage with using an different garbage collector like graalvm's g1 garbage collector (search minecraft performance flags benchmark for more info)
TY TY TY!!!! i find modding java so complicated that i retreated to ms minecraft but i want to play Real MC again and following your steps makes it so easy!
im using the mods with lunar client and it asked me to download indium, so i did but the game still crashes and says distant horizons needs indium to work with sodium.
To the interested the difference between Nvidium and Distant Horizons is Nvidum renders the blocks at a distance while Distant Horizons loads only one (the visible one) of the 6 faces of the distant blocks. They do same but Nvidium looks a bit better.
if you have 4 gigs of ram, just dont play )), if you have 8, you can give 4-6 gigs, if you have 16 you should put 8-10, if you have 32 you should put 10-16, if you have more than 32 put half or a quarter
I just followed all the instructions up to the point where we load into the world for the first time, and I can see the Distant Horizon settings in the options menu and have them configured properly but the world only renders barely further than when I turn DH off PLS HELP!!!!!!!!!!! EDIT: So I am experiencing this issue when loading into my own server. I can get into the server just fine but the world just doesn't render very far at all. When I toggle the DH setting in Options to turn it off or on, the render distance only barely extends when the setting is turned on. So then I tested this by creating a new Singeplayer world and I'm not having the same issue. World renders out reaaaaally far and is exactly what I would expect from this mod. Why isn't it working on my own multiplayer server?
how to get more ram because even though I have 8 gb of ram i only have 0.3 gigs left because all of it is being used on other things. Also, when I tested the distant horizons mod, it didn't work because when i set the render distance to 128 it only rendered 32. I know this because when I turned the distant horizons off the render distance didn't change and was set to 32 chunks. Is there any way to fix this?
With my potato i7-2600 cpu (from 2011!), with shaders I can only get about 20 fps WITH sodium (and that's if I'm lucky). It's really unfortunate as I recently paid £300 for a new graphics card that I thought would fix the issue, but hey, I guess this is more cpu intensive than gpu intensive. ☹

Do i need fabric? how do i download distant horizons and a shader for forge?

Thank you Sir! Helped me a lot.
Thank you so much for this! This was really helpful. 🙂

but nvidium is not working with shader unfortunately.
Keep in mind there are a lot more performance mods that can be used with this that can greatly increase performance in addition to Sodium
Such as?

Is the 2024 guide still feasible?
4:05 What was that fist one?? 💀
Hell Yeah, It looks amazing
Can anyone explain to me why my shaders option doesn’t exist in distant horizons?

Troublechute, you gotta reply bro, you have been my core for tutorials, you are the best bro
It still aint workin for 1.21.4....
Understandably, as Distant Horizons hasn't updated to 1.21.4 yet.
@@Yurgen_Sthat’s weird I got one that was working for me last night
@@godsbornn7416 did you download everything else as 1.21.4?
How can I give minecraft ram through the modrinth app?
Do i need fabric? how do i download it for forge?
I don't see the fabric-loader 1.21.1 when I open the Minecraft launcher, have all four folders in the correct location. Not sure why it's hiding
Figured it out. I had to click the fabric launcher after I installed it to get the 1.21.1 option and select "create profile"
shrimple has like a super bright sun, im kinda new can anyone help?

Ur always on the games I’m on 😭

Minecraft is very heavily reliant on cpu
The config setting doesn’t pop up in options
did you fix it?
Only one
