its because members were playing in Cleveland hardcore bands like integrity, ringworm etc, its quite funny how corey goes on about that fight in Cleveland because the Cleveland crew were a notorious hardcore crew it could have got way worst for them if the crew could have been bothered.
@ Mushroom head is a different style. By charts yes slipknot but I’ve seen both live and mushroom performs live just as good as slipknot. Mushroom head has some bangers too
"I feel like maybe we underestimate them." On point. No matter you love or hate them, there's stuff to explore, heavy, progressive, nu, rap, screams, hooky riffs af, and yes, sometimes even cheesy and hollow stuff. Oh and I suggest BWOMP by them, just for the oldschool vibes. ;)
When Mushroomhead was really Mushroomhead. I know line ups change in music, this album, and lineup were incredible in my opinion!! Saw them live a few times around this time and they were great live!!
I've seen them with JMann and with Waylon...some of my favorite songs come from the Waylon era so that show was special to me. It was an intimate club setting with like 300 people so it was a great set. I saw the J mann lineup open up for Machine Head and it was amazing in its own right. Bigger arena set and they got 45 because there were only three bands.
This album (xxx) is imo their best with hits such as bwomp, these filthy hands and definitely this song “song that hooked me” solitaire unraveling thank you two for f n up Monday and getting my spooky week started
Wow, I could've SWORN you guys had already done this song. It's honestly one of their best. Even all these years later the hook still makes my hairs stand on end.
So apparently Roadrunner Records tried to sign Mushroomhead before Slipknot but Mushroomhead turned it down because they wanted to keep total control of their sound. Then Slipknot came along and sort of blew past them. I love Mushroomhead more tbh. They have so much energy!!! 🤘
I haven’t heard this song in so long. All I remember from this album is “I’ve got a van I’m gonna put them motherfuckin equipments in, Joe. I’m a crazy motherfucker, Joe.” “You dont fit the bill.”
“Out of my mind” is a good one 💯🤘🏽 Then some of the newer MH stuff(even though I’ll always love and miss Jeffrey Hatrix) but “carry on” and “seen it all” are both good jams too Also love that Mike Patton mention(huge Mike Patton/FNM supporter) Love all your vids on him…keep up all the awesome content you guys do 💪🏼😊
Other Mushroomhead songs to check out: Save Us, 12 Hundred, Before I Die Other fitting Halloween bands/songs: "Crwn Thy Frnicatr" by Psyclon Nine, "Saints of Grey" by Crossbreed, "The Dying Sound" or "Coming Apart" by VentanA (Mushroomhead side project)
So glad you guys are finally getting to this song, this was the first I had heard from them that got me hooked. Eternal would be a great one to check out next
Speaking of Mike Patton, I played the song These Filthy Hands by Mushroomhead and told my buddy this was the new Faith no More album and he believed me lol!!! The song is a banger though!!! My reason for doing that was because he didn't like bands that wore masks even though he never heard the band . But he loves FNM, so I thought hmm...lets do an experiment ! Haha . And he loved it lol!!!
I'ma thank you for having this to watch right now!!! Been up for 27 hours now!! Stayed up for the family so everybody got up.... Breakfast and everything!! 😊. Glad I get to jam with you guys before I just close my eyes!!! Lol
Woke up got on youtube looked up trash talkers and then clicked right away cause i knew it was nu metal monday i love yall soo much check out heathensun they wear mask too
The whole album this song was on was on full time repeat for me back in the day. Whole thing was just nonstop epicness. Solitaire Unraveling, Bwomp, These Filthy Hands, The New Cult King. All great.
Yes, this is the first song I was introduced to Mushroom to and I loved it. Been a fan ever since. But, I can’t believe you guys haven’t reacted to Bullet For My Valentine!!! You should check out Tears Don’t Fall or My Betrayal first.
Funny thing about me- I accidentally discovered Infected Mushroom through Mushroomhead. I saw a girl come in with a Mushroomhead shirt and I was like “oh that’s cool looking! I’ll look them up later”. Get home and I forgot the word head for some reason. I just remembered it saying mushroom. I had Infected Mushroom popped up while looking it up lol.
Loved this when I was 16 and it came out. I live in UK, and this ounded like nothing we had here. Slipknot wa it's own beast, and Mudvayne was for the weirdos (like me). Genuinely still have this album on CD that I got on release, like 20 years ago?! Such a fun band, so glad you boys liked it, feel like it would be right up your street.
Nu metal had to be one of the best and most underrated genres ever. Most vocalist had better bars than todays rappers and it just had that mystique to it...incomparable
My nephew who is as old as me introduced me to mushroomhead, I’m like damn! This is awesome! But he also said how ppl hated because they would relate them to slipknot, but they are so different. Only this is,they have in common is the masks.but lots of bands doing it now. They got some good songs man. The song I listened to at the time, was a different second singer. I dug it. “ simple survival” so good. I think that was the introduction to the new guy. But the video and song is gooood! Different but awesome
Man I remember being in my early 20's when this song came out. Music was so much better back then. This entire album rules. Every song is great. For whatever reason though when this album came out they just didn't catch on. I think part of it is that this song was the only song on the album that was radio friendly in the slightest. Check out "xeroxed" "these filthy hands" or "bwomp" on the same album.
I used to have about 6 of their old stage used masks. Sold all of them except my Stitch mask. Probably never getting rid of that one. I had one of Stitch’s stage worn jumpsuits too, but just sold that about a month ago
I think part of why they got overlooked was because they kept control of their first few albums... Which are great albums.... So I think the producers looked elsewhere... If you look at the discography their album XX is older songs they pre-recorded from their self owned property
I'm not their biggest fan, but this is definitely my favorite Mushroomhead song, and yes, they have been around even longer than Slipknot. Another great Cleveland nu metal band that is criminally underappreciated would be Chimaira
@@kristaspechtthanks Krista! I was looking at stress balls/ stress toys… then I saw that little blue guy and thought, he definitely has a ‘Monday face’ 😆 I think he actually is from Bob’s Burgers (never saw it but that’s what I got from the reviews on Amazon)… they did have green ones (among other colors) but I like blue 😊
Mushroomhead, is an example of the right one at the wrong time. See, they came into the early '90s (92/93) when grunge was still on top. And then during the rapid growth out of the shadows with nu metal, quite a bit of bands were blowing up and competing. You had Limp B., Slipknot, KoRn, Deftones, Coal Chamber, P.O.D., Adema, and Hybrid Theory (1st album) from Linkin Park. It was such a huge umbrella of ladders, and of course MRH was suffering from independence at the time and low budget. Plus they were from Cleveland and locally, it was very hard for them to find anybody to get signed with.
God I miss this band. They're just a soulless shell of what they were just a cover band at this point. I've seen them live over 30 times, but I have not seen them since 2015. Waylon Reavis took over harsh vocals after J-mann left you should check out his new band "a killers confession"
I’m sorry to trauma dump you beautiful people. But this song brings a quiet solace to my soul. My father was extremely abusive. Violent man with a meth addiction. As a young man I had the courage to stand up to for my mother and stand in the doorway when she couldn’t. And I often caught the beatings for it. He’d taunt me. Laugh at me. Tear me down physically and mentally. I started working out and lifting at a young age to get stronger. To defend myself. So that no one can break me again. My father boasted about how ruthless he was and how good of a fighter he was since I was small. And he had the skills and imposing figure to back it up. But I made a promise to myself that I’d be the one to eventually break him. Now at 6’4 250 pounds, I’ve built the body I promised myself I’d achieve. But still after all of the weights lifted, all of the muscle gained. I still feel like that same scared little boy inside. The anger took over. And turned me into the very monster I swore to never become. An animal. A product of my chaos. He is clean from drugs now and is a completely different person. I’ve forgiven him but the pain he’s caused still sparks an ever lasting anger inside of me. I’ve done things that I regret. And now I am picking up the pieces. My nightmares and demons still eat at my soul. Stopping me from getting my life together. Now I have to face my biggest challenger yet. Myself. Condemned and convicted to a lifetime of pain and misery until I eventually break out of it. You truly won’t know peace until you’ve had suffering. To anyone reading this, love your children. You have no idea how much of an impact it’ll have on them.
Hey guys this is nathyn i have seen you guys reaction videos not too long ago I watched the video you guys react to SpineShank new disease P.S Spineshank is my favorite band I was just wondering if you guys can react to Violent Mood Swings by SPINESHANK please and thank you 🤘🎸 i know i’m late to comment
People started saying mushroom head was a slipknot copy, but they were doing the masks before slipknot.
its because members were playing in Cleveland hardcore bands like integrity, ringworm etc, its quite funny how corey goes on about that fight in Cleveland because the Cleveland crew were a notorious hardcore crew it could have got way worst for them if the crew could have been bothered.
The beef was always between fans and never between the bands. It was stupid then, it’s stupid now.
I believe you are right sir. At the very least, it was a "parallel evolution", or some smart sounding shit like that 😂
They’re not that good either….slipknot is much better.
@ Mushroom head is a different style. By charts yes slipknot but I’ve seen both live and mushroom performs live just as good as slipknot. Mushroom head has some bangers too
Sun Doesn't Rise is a great song for Halloween.
I’d have to check but I feel they’ve covered that. Wasn’t their cover of Seal’s Crazy on that album? The “hidden” song at the end.
@bgarmstrong1446 Yup....they did it 7 months ago.....and yes, Crazy is on that album. Best cover ever of that song imo.
"I feel like maybe we underestimate them."
On point. No matter you love or hate them, there's stuff to explore, heavy, progressive, nu, rap, screams, hooky riffs af, and yes, sometimes even cheesy and hollow stuff. Oh and I suggest BWOMP by them, just for the oldschool vibes. ;)

Their cover of Seal's "Crazy" is worth a listen to
I recommended that also. Nice cover.
It's CRAZY!!! 🤘🏿🤘🏼🤘
12 Hundred is my all time favorite Mushroomhead song but Solitaire Unraveling is up there.
Love 1200! Damage Done is another banger!
"Rembrandt as my right hand Solo as my pilot"
Most catch the you don’t know peace til you’ve had suffering, but not too many people catch that one.
@bgarmstrong1446 J Mann is a great lyricist met him, Stitch and Nothing a few times.
I knew I recognised this song title 😁 love a bit of Mushrromhead...Simple Survival for next song 👇
You should check out "Never Let It Go" by Mushroomhead.
Yes....
Yessss!!!!
This album (xxx) is imo their best with hits such as bwomp, these filthy hands and definitely this song “song that hooked me” solitaire unraveling thank you two for f n up Monday and getting my spooky week started
The album is M3 but XX is the "Best Of" compilation album that came out shortly after. M3 is 1999 and XX is 2001.
@Benobot99 you also have to get the eclipse records version, after they left eclipse they redid the album and its not the same
This is the first song I heard of theirs, it still slaps to this day 🔥🤟
Aaahh yes, the one that got me into Mushroomhead. Always been a fave song of mine.
Wow, I could've SWORN you guys had already done this song. It's honestly one of their best. Even all these years later the hook still makes my hairs stand on end.
Great song, glad you heard the Patton influence! This whole album was really good, lots of FNM influence on it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that heard it. We need to check out more of this album
"you don't know peace till you've had suffering" heavy hitting line
This is the exact song that I heard on the radio here (106.9wccc) that got me into them. You should check out carry on next.
The very best Mushroomhead lineup \m/
You don't know peace til you've had suffering

These guys are a flashback. A long, long time ago I used to buy trees from a guy who I'm pretty sure is in this video. Good times, good pick.
This song was my intro to MH. Haven't looked back. Let's fucking go!! ✌️ n ❤ to the Tribe
I haven’t heard this song in so long. All I remember from this album is “I’ve got a van I’m gonna put them motherfuckin equipments in, Joe. I’m a crazy motherfucker, Joe.” “You dont fit the bill.”
You want evil? Ill show you evil scratch ya mafukin eye out with like a long god damn finger nail
I love this band. There are so many more great songs by them. I met them when their tour bus came to my truck wash. Really great guys.
Mushroomhead simple survival when jmann left and Waylon joined
“Out of my mind” is a good one 💯🤘🏽

Happy Nu Metal Monday y'all..the Nu Monday Monster is adorable 😂💙🤘👻
Glad you did this one guys!! This was the song I discovered the band with in high school...still my favorite track off of XX.
Jmann once said in an interview that early Mushroomhead was influenced by Faith no More. Great catch.
Fantastic song ❤
Best Mushroomhead song 💯🤘🏼
Yes, this is the first song I was introduced to Mushroom to and I loved it. Been a fan ever since. But, I can’t believe you guys haven’t reacted to Bullet For My Valentine!!! You should check out Tears Don’t Fall or My Betrayal first.

That´s the only Song of Mushroomhead that i like. I tried to listen to other songs of them, but this stood up from all of them. I dont know why.

Nice one 🔥
This video always throws me off guard because Jeffrey Nothing actually has a full head of hair. LOL

Destroy the World Around Me is my favorite Mushroomhead song. I consider it one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.
Still waiting on Chester Bennington System 🎉🎉
Ayy this is the song that got me instantly hooked on this band :D First song I heard by them and still my favorite.
Please react to New Psychedelia by that singer right there, Jeffrey Nothing.
A good Mushroomhead song for Halloween is We Are the Truth, the video is a tribute to the movie Evil Dead
Definitely check out "Born of Desire" by Mushroomhead; it's SO GOOD and has a strong groove. Same album as this track (M3), from 1999.
Always liked this song! We played it at our 8th grade talent show lol. Face paint and all lol.
I love this song, and it doesn't get enough love

Mushroomhead 1200 is a must!
Hahaaa y’all beat up Monday 😆 I like it! I thought you needed something else to hit before you destroyed the rest of your studio lol
