Yeah I actually enjoy seeing uncommon openings. Gotham should have just sacrificed his knight after he f’d up. He kept complaining about how he shouldn’t have moved his knight there but that was literally his only open square, and should have realized that. His knight became useless. But I guess that speaks to his ability since he was essentially playing down an entire piece the rest of the match.

I'm general bots are terrible early game but get insane the deeper the game goes.

Botham knows Gotham so well that it purposefully plays E3 on white because it knows it triggers him and the bot got free wins out of from resigns. It don't care about the context, it just sees another win in the stats

I know a line, when the opponent touches the rook, the Bot says: "THE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK"
8:48 a terribly written line, but I believe it was in reference to the rook u missed. If you had moved your Rook to the 8th rank, you would have had a discovered check on the enemy king from the bishop. He would have had no choice but to move the king, leaving that rook free for the taking

I’ve found that AI chess programs have a difficult time throwing games, especially in endgames. In the middle game, they’ll play perfectly for a bit and then blunder a heavy piece. It feels fake, like you’re playing your dad and then he does something stupid to let you win.
There's no real way to "blunder by accident" for them, please remember that chess engines reached an unbeatable standard for humans many years ago, the only way to even get a chance of winning against them is to program them to do exactly that: To act "like your dad doing something stupid to let you win". Most moves humans play are probably inaccurate for AI standards, because it could always calculate a way to punish any given move 32 turns in the future, whenever it doesn't do that it's because we programmed it to act stupid to not hurt our feelings.

I think the programmers did a pretty good job at implementing the overconfidence that we’ve seen many times expressed both by bot and the human.

Every time your bot sacrifices a piece it has to put in all caps “AND I SACRIFICE THE BISHOOOOOOOOP!!!!!”
At the end of game 2 section of the video you should have put rook h7 because when knight then comes to fork you move king to g7 so that when the rook is gone you take the knight with king and try to win the endgame by sacrificing your knight on the right to the eventually promote one pawn to queen and checkmate somehow.
