We don't do HOOK-BOOGIE dance routines either, we don't put our instruments on the ground on our dance routines. We play and march, and our shows are not 80% block band formations. We are built different, and CARDIO is required, have to be in shape to do what the M100 does.. Take notes all you HOOK-BOOGIE programs, especially that stuff we witnessed at the Bayou Classic... Those 2 programs spent all week to present HOOK-BOOGIE on National tv... Sad commentary

This was a rival game. Both schools are always trying to out do each other, however, BCU is a much better band than they get credit for. No they didn't do a lot of formations, but this is not a band festival. They should have been rated higher than a 93 by Steve, the band critic. BCU 's performance was not boring. Even at the classic some FAMU rattlers enjoyed our band better than FAMU'S Band. 29:3929:39 We have the best Drum Majors. No other band can out perform them.
No one is saying this is the band festival. But aren't you guys a collegiate band? How do you guys not do formations on a collegiate level and give the crowd an entire full show instead of just one diss at the end of the show to try to make up for the lack of other parts of the show?. This is your biggest rival not some home game with no band shows up

I understand your point about repertoire effective however, I will always prefer simpler flawless formations over large and ambitious formations that have flaws. The bike and scooter formations from FAMU were cool but sloppy the simple letters and numbers Cookman did were crisp and clean.
@ no that’s not what I said at all. I prefer execution over ambition. It’s the same for music if your band plays a 3 minute song and over 50% of it is just one long run if executed well you will blow minds but if not you just sound sloppy. It’s the same thing with these two and their formations. Yes FAMU was WAY more creative and ambitious but it looked sloppy, especially compared to the simple crisp formations BCU did.

Ive seen Cookmans show multiple times and just today realized they played for the love of money by the ojays while transitioning to "SCAMU". their arrangements have always been weird to me.
Allow the evidence to speak for itself. Yes FAMU did more drill; however, the drill was not perfected. The tires on the bicycle and scooter both looked flat. Formations were somewhat sloppy and there was room for improvement. I rather see a show that's perfected. These performance are to please the crowd by giving them what they want to see. Listen to the crowd's applause, it speaks volumes. Don't get caught up in the rankings by ESPN. Those rankings are political, bad, unjust, wrong and don't allow the evidence to speak for itself.
@@leonsmith2793 It wasnt perfect but there is a such thing as degree of difficulty. If you ever played in band in high school there is such thing as Grade A Grade B Grade D etc and so forth music. The degree of difficulty is what determines the grade. BCU don't get points for no drill or barely a formation spelling 3 number vs numerous formations . There is no comparison

There is a big difference between SWAC AND MEAC
For me having dancers makes it more entertaining. A lot of times the dancers make up for what the band may be lacking at times.
