Law said he wanted to take down Kaido and needed someone’s help…at which point Luffy agrees because he plans to take all four down anyways. Big Mom was a detour *on the way to Kaido* which is why Law went ahead to Wano and Luffy *ran away from her* . They were literally only involved with Big Mom at the time to get Sanji back, and continue on to Kaido.
Like one of the other people above said, Tama was just the reason it went from obligation (him having an agreement with Law and him needing to beat all the Yonko to become Pirate King) to a personal vendetta (because he befriended Tama who in the past had befriended Ace)

And I _said_ that the alliance made it easier to justify, when he was already intent on it. I don’t see where or how this contradicts what I said, as certain parts preceded, and exist _outside of_ , the alliance’s concept.
