Detuning Your Tips & Tails for Better Turns - Valuable Tip # 17

In Valuable Tip # 17 we show you how to detune you tips and tails with what we call "AVS Detuning" (anti-vibration style). This method is used with a ceramic stone to redirect the sharpness not completely dull it. Dulling the tips and tails completely causes the skis to vibrate on harder snow surfaces which will affect your turns. You also have the option apply this method slightly more on your outside edges vs. your inside edges. Be sure to use very light pressure. More angle on the stone = less sharpness, less angle = more sharpness. Play with these different variables to see you like best.
Try this method of detuning to increase your confidence on harder snow surfaces and improve your turns. Tools needed: Tyrolit fine Ceramic and/or Tyrolit Elastic Race+ stone(s). You can also use a 1000 grit Sidecut Diamond Stone.
