That was the death knell for me. It was the way the NFL responded to it, and the other teams that allowed it to go on as well. I was a seahawks fan in the glory years of Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch, but when they did the garbage holding arms together it was a slap in the face to me and my grandfather who both served this country. I stopped supporting that industry altogether and was right to do so.
My sister's friend had a double mastectomy due to (of course) breast cancer. After a ton of reconstructive surgeries, she had a very nice set of artificial blouse bunnies. She got a custom shirt printed up that said, "Of course they're fake! The real ones tried to kill me!" You just gotta love it when people are able to face potentially life ending (or at least life altering) situations and come out of it with a sense of humor.
Been married for 49 years. Tough job. Bought her a lot of nice things, took her on some great trips. For instance, I took her to Italy for our 25th anniversary, so for our 50th anniversary I'm going back to Italy to pick her up.

My daughter was moving to another State and couldn’t take her rats. I did not like rats at the time, but on the last day she still hadn’t found anybody who would adopt them, I said I’d take care of them. I figured I would make sure they were fed and watered and their home kept clean. (What I didn’t know was I would soon be making a rat town with shoe boxes and PVC pipe and loving them.) Anyway, one had gotten ill and I took it to the vet’s. I was asked his name, I was so embarrassed, she had named him Cornholio. It wasn’t until I gave his name that I realized it was embarrassing, but the vet tech had a big smile, so all good. PS rats can be sooo adorable, and though the rats lived longer than the usual life span, it was too short and so heartbreaking when they went. We still reminisce about them and it has been a decade plus. Rule: No more pets. (Ok, that rule has been broken so many times, but I still try.) 😊

Here's a travel tip from my parents.. You and your wife take turns getting a good rest while letting your kids get good and tired. Then leave for your trip after dark. The parent that's well rested drives for a while, letting the other parent and kids sleep. You can switch drivers when you stop for gas. You'd be surprised how many miles you'd be able to cover without your kids wanting to have you stop every 5 minutes.
I would do this if I wasn't a friggin' insomniac when trying to sleep in a car or plane. I have trouble sleeping while traveling. Only time I didn't was in Basic. I could fall asleep on the concrete in a minute flat. Lol
As for the SNAP (food stamps) I work at a gas station/convenience store/deli that is in a "bad" section of the county. I see dozens of food stamp customers who purchase upward of $80 or $100 of junk food. Fountain sodas (L or XL) for the kids, bottled sodas, Monster drinks (or other brands), gummy bears and worms, candy bars. They could go to a grocery store or Walmart and get the same junk for 30 to 40% cheaper.

Nothing wrong with old cars .I have owned the same 1964 Chevy Impala for 44 years and counting .Imagine that, something actually lasting if you take good care of it .I do have tons of fun sitting next to a Tesla at a red light letting those killer pipes and big block 409 do their thing .Hell I will even ask if they want to race sometimes .The looks on their faces is priceless .I don't feel bad about owning my old gas burner one bit considering I have donated many acres of my rural land and forests to wildlife habitats for many decades in a trust . Janitor at the VA here. When we replace a roll of toilet paper, we peel back that glued edge and unattach it. It becomes pretty easy after awhile. If you don't do this, the 1st person to get the roll leaves twenty shards of paper laying on the floor, trying to figure it out. If it isn't glued down, the rolls would start unravelling in the cartons they are stacked in.

My daughter was moving to another State and couldn’t take her rats. I did not like rats at the time, but on the last day she still hadn’t found anybody who would adopt them, I said I’d take care of them. I figured I would make sure they were fed and watered and their home kept clean. (What I didn’t know was I would soon be making a rat town with shoe boxes and PVC pipe and loving them.) Anyway, one had gotten ill and I took it to the vet’s. I was asked his name, I was so embarrassed, she had named him Cornholio. It wasn’t until I gave his name that I realized it was embarrassing, but the vet tech had a big smile, so all good. PS rats can be sooo adorable, and though the rats lived longer than the usual life span, it was too short and so heartbreaking when they went. We still reminisce about them and it has been a decade plus. Rule: No more pets. (Ok, that rule has been broken so many times, but I still try.) 😊

Here's a travel tip from my parents.. You and your wife take turns getting a good rest while letting your kids get good and tired. Then leave for your trip after dark. The parent that's well rested drives for a while, letting the other parent and kids sleep. You can switch drivers when you stop for gas.
You'd be surprised how many miles you'd be able to cover without your kids wanting to have you stop every 5 minutes.

As for the SNAP (food stamps) I work at a gas station/convenience store/deli that is in a "bad" section of the county. I see dozens of food stamp customers who purchase upward of $80 or $100 of junk food. Fountain sodas (L or XL) for the kids, bottled sodas, Monster drinks (or other brands), gummy bears and worms, candy bars. They could go to a grocery store or Walmart and get the same junk for 30 to 40% cheaper.

I'm not a hunter but I lived in the foothills of Mt Rainier and I could always tell when hunting season had begun when the deer with racks would start showing up in the downtowns of small towns in the foothills, because they knew that they could not be shot in a downtown area with humans.

I stopped watching sports around 1973. When I realized it was a complete scam. I went to boot camp with a young man who played college basketball for a national contender. He was a good player but not good enough for the pro teams. He played 4 years without classes. But was then dropped academically because the only thing he could write and read was his name that he had to sign on contracts. 16 years of school, but couldn't read and write.

My advice, if you care about the way the clear coat and paint looks on your car, don't do the automated car washes at all. The brushes on those things are never cleaned, so the dirt from the last 10,000 washes ends up pummeling your paint.

1) Why do they advertise? Everybody does, in fact, buy toilet paper. But they may not buy *your* toilet paper. Frankly, that's the best thing to advertise -- the commodity that everybody has to buy.
2) Why are they glued? So they don't come unrolled while being processed after manufacture.
3) Why is it the thing people panic buy? Because it has an infinite shelf life and do YOU want to ever be out of toilet paper? I sure as hell don't.

Nothing wrong with old cars .I have owned the same 1964 Chevy Impala for 44 years and counting .Imagine that, something actually lasting if you take good care of it .I do have tons of fun sitting next to a Tesla at a red light letting those killer pipes and big block 409 do their thing .Hell I will even ask if they want to race sometimes .The looks on their faces is priceless .I don't feel bad about owning my old gas burner one bit considering I have donated many acres of my rural land and forests to wildlife habitats for many decades in a trust . Who is the true environmentally friendly person here ? I can guarantee the trees ,creeks ,swamps and river will be here helping the environment long after that Tesla is sitting in a junkyard somewhere as will my old Impala .Naturally I don't drive it that much with it being a show car after all but still a hell of a lot of fun when I do take it out for a drive .My every day vehicle is an old beat up pick up actually put together with duct tape , wire and basically falling apart .Perfect vehicle for a farm .It starts ,stops and gets me where I want to go .The 64 is not my only show car I own several hidden out in my barns .I just choose to drive my ratty old truck around .
Janitor at the VA here. When we replace a roll of toilet paper, we peel back that glued edge and unattach it. It becomes pretty easy after awhile. If you don't do this, the 1st person to get the roll leaves twenty shards of paper laying on the floor, trying to figure it out. If it isn't glued down, the rolls would start unravelling in the cartons they are stacked in.

When I went into the Marine Corps, I found out that not everyone called all cokes cokes. Soda, soda water, cold drinks, hot cold drinks if they were stacked in the aisle at the store, and finally the mind blowing "pop". Along with soda pop I guess.
When I was a kid, Dad took us to the Grand Canyon, among other places. Couple Indian kids kept asking us for pop. We couldn't figure out what they were talking about. It finally clicked when I got to boot camp with folks from all over. So while I was in, I adopted "sody water", so there was just enough hick.

Wow! Your dream of still being in high school is exactly like mine. I had variations of this dream until I was in my mid-late thirties, I’m 52 now…. I was late for class, in the wrong class, couldn’t find my schedule, didn’t have my homework finished, couldn’t find the bathroom, couldn’t find my locker, couldn’t remember the combination…… I did have a lot focus/priority issues in high school.
