I just finished 20 weeks of neurofeedback, and it was the best thing i’ve ever done for my mental health. it’s expensive but soo worth it!

This does not get interesting until 14:00 when discussing purpose: Operative Learning (Scenarian Conditioning) for monitoring diagnostic Neuro-feedback with ECG changes. From the ECG findings, therapy can be tailored based on which gyrus is over-activated by a triggering stimulus. Several types of therapy, which is beneficial for some, others not so effective. Some brains are hard-wired to act in a certain way, so challenging to treat.

    Hi!
Absolutely loved this conversation. This is the exact topic I would love to study in my graduate program! Love the structural concept of mental health and how it has positively impacted others to understand their brain.
Thank you again for putting out valuable content!

Since I am a faculty of Biology so I know the terms related with neurology & neurological disorder.
I have great affinity for English language too.
I can relate the topics to me and them as we both had undergone the same though I had to consult a Psychiatrist of India's best Psychiatric Institute.
    Mrs. Prakriti Sinha,
    Assistant Professor,
    Dept. Of Clinical Psychology
    CIP,Kanke.
I am indebted to her and an intern,Ms. Ranjana who had come from Kerala to complete her internship.
Today, what I am is all because of their continuous sessions and therapy.
    God bless them.

I would love for you to study my brain because my PTSD coupled with my pre-existing chronic anxiety disorder makes for a lovely neuro-cocktail. For example: if I'm given antianxiety meds before a procedure bc doctors think that will help, but I've warned them it doesn't--I go "wolverine" or get an adrenal dump and want to get the F out of there, they don't listen. But basically it causes "fight" response panic attacks and I just leave. Literally will get up off a procedure table and leave the hospital.
When I get bloodwork drawn, or IVs placed, you cannot CANNOT use a torniquet because my veins constrict. If you use a heating pack and don't use a torniquet you can get an IV placed.
My triggers are all things medical. I can't do many appts in a month or I will not sleep before and after. I suffered childhood trauma and then from 2020 on, patient neglect/medical malpractice and almost died multiple times due to medical malpractice. I go into every medical situation doing yoga breathing etc but every needle hurts like heck, feels like someone is stabbing me, what's logical to do with other patients, doesn't work for me. All things I've had to learn. What I've learned is if I have control over scheduling, go to the appts sleep deprived, you have a 75% chance of success before I need to tap out and go home and take the rest of the day off to meditate, do yoga and get my nervous system calm. I take a variety of natural supplements to help calm my adrenals. Without them I'd be dead for sure because I'd be in "fight mode" 24/7. I can sit there and appear calm, but I'm sweating, my heart is racing, I haven't slept before my appt, my muscles are so tight I'll give myself migraines by constricting blood flow to my brain, I sometimes lose memories (still don't remember some things), get brain fog and chronic exhaustion...............it's interesting. Anything medical just triggers this cascade response in my body and I become non-functioning for days before and days after. I'm trying to just reduce triggers and push out appts because I can't avoid doctors but there is no "desensitizing" me. lol
The last psycho who thought he could desensitize me tried to place an iv 4 times and on the fourth time I said if he touched me again I'd stab him in the face. He was DIGGING in my arm. My arm was purple the torniquet was on so tight and I was bleeding everywhere. I've delt with THAT type of insensitive doctor. Needless to say, he was never allowed near me again bc he not only didn't listen to all my tips and tricks to get an IV in me, he was digging around in my arm. My friend was there with me and she was watching him and calling for assistance. I was afraid to move my arm because I have broken off needles in my arms before from pulling away due to pain. Split reaction really. Nothing I can do about it but be preventative in making sure people know I respond fast and furious when provoked and here's how to NOT do that because these things could happen.
So yea, fun times. FUN TIMES INDEED. Makes you want to go back in time and just redo everything before you let that one egotistical doctor who destroyed your life get near you. Also makes it impossible to work and earn a living most days.

I've never been able to relate to someone so deeply! I have medical anxiety too, from childhood and it's a nightmare. From the trauma, for nearly my entire life I've passed out from blood tests, ear piercings etc. Also have the same issues of can't handle the week leading up to appointments and 1-3 weeks after an appointment. Covid triggered my medical anxiety severely and now I can't function at all like a normal person. I hope you will find the healing and the support you need soon, we deserve to feel human again 😭

DO NOT WORK WITH THE DOCTOR IN THIS VIDEO! Andrew Hill and his team are NOT remotely prepared to help people with mental illness. I tried to with with Peak Beain because of this very video; they took my money knowing I was struggling with self care basics to participate in a program they knew requires someone to be able to at least have good enough self care. They didn't give a damn that I was getting more and more stressed out with every session and tried to ply more money out of my hands just to take a break. Andrew Hill is far too money hungry and self important to be a real help to other people.
