    i use this monitor and in my opinion there is nearly no competition in this price range!!! lg did so much right with this one... i use it primarly for gaming and its flawless... lg uses the same panel as in their higher priced models... that means you get the same picture qualite etc. without some extra features like usb... but why on earth would you need that...

I play games like COD Warzone, Arkham Knight, Spider-Man, ghost of Tsushima etc. I’ve had no issues it looks great, and for the price I don’t think there is better out there. Just remember there are no internal speakers so you’ll need headphones or buy some external ones (I picked some up from Curry’s for about £20)

    I'm interested in the PIP feature, so i have just a couple of questions, hopefully you can answer them:
    - PIP is managed by software and not by hardware right?
    - Have you actually tested it yet? Haven't seen any videos of people using it.
    - And if it's just Software managed, does it have macOS compatibility?
    I tend to use PIP in my current monitor (2k, TN panel) to show or a videogame console or my other computer, but thinking about upgrading to something like this.
    Thanks.

    GPT4 Summary of video:
    **Pros of the LG 27UL500-W Monitor:**
    1. Size & Resolution: It's a 27-inch 4K monitor that provides high resolution with a 163 PPI (Pixels Per Inch), which is beneficial for those who read a lot of text or do photo/video editing.
    2. IPS Panel: The IPS panel prioritizes color accuracy and viewing angles.
    3. Gaming Capabilities: Despite being a productivity-focused monitor, it can be used for gaming thanks to its max refresh rate of 60 Hz and the inclusion of FreeSync.
    4. Colors: The monitor covers 98% of the sRGB color space and can output 10 bits of color using 8-bit panel natively, plus frame rate control (FRC). It comes pre-calibrated from LG for color accuracy.
    5. Picture in Picture (PIP) & Picture by Picture (PBP): The monitor allows you to output different sections of the screen using different ports, which is helpful for productivity tasks.
    6. Contrast Ratio & Backlight Bleed: It has a typical contrast ratio for an IPS panel (1,000), and there was no apparent backlight bleed in the review.
    7. Ghosting, Response Time & Gaming Performance: The monitor offers a 5 millisecond grey-to-grey response time and has minimal ghosting. There is virtually no screen tearing, making it suitable for light gaming.
    8. Menu System & Controls: LG's menu system is considered best in the industry, offering easy navigation and responsive controls.
    9. VESA Compatibility: The monitor is compatible with 100mm x 100mm VESA mounts.
    10. Ports: The monitor includes two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.2, and a 3.5mm audio out.
    **Cons of the LG 27UL500-W Monitor:**
    1. Brightness: The monitor's brightness is rated at 300 nits, which is acceptable but not especially bright. It might be insufficient for a very brightly lit room.
    2. Stand & Build Quality: The stand lacks height adjustability, swivel, and rotation features. The bezels are somewhat thick and have a plastic feel. The reviewer recommends buying a separate monitor arm for more adjustability.
    3. Ports: The number of ports is limited, which might be an issue for some users needing more connectivity options.

    Hey there, Abit of a strange question but have you had any eye strain with this LG 27UL500 monitor and also how many hours per day do you use it?

      Try to use blue light blocking glasses if you're not wearing already.. also you should take breaks at least every hour

      @ozzi wood 60 fps is noticeable but 5 ms probably not.

    • @YarinsHyper
      @YarinsHyper 2 года назад

      it does matter. just depends on what games you play, if you play fps games then you'd feel the differenece and itll matter, if you play single player games it wont really (same for the response time). the ghosting is good tho cuz it matters

      Buy a monitor that has 144hz and 1ms response time.

    • @DaniTheShredder
      @DaniTheShredder 3 года назад +1

      Currently, there are no "budget" hdmi 2.1 monitors. The cheapest one is the 2021 Samsung Odyssey 7 and it costs 749 €. The rest of hdmi 2.1 monitors are around 900 €, if you are lucky to find them available.
