Don’t worry that much on sliding your finger just keep experimenting and find out how to make it rotate

It's not related to the tricks I'm this video, but I just cannot get a kickflip consistent. My tail keeps rotating clockwise when I slide up the board. I've tried spreading my fingers more apart, putting them closer together, and putting them on different sides of the board like I've seen in other videos, but I just can't seem to get it consistently.

I totally had the same problem, whenever I tried to kickflip it would just go into a varial flip. I think what I ended up doing was just trying to pay attention to the position of my wrist more than my fingers, and trying to keep everything as straight as possible.
