  • Welcome to the very first episode of Moon PIG! Moon PIG is a concept I came up with a while back and now finally have the perfect outlet for it. Watch the episode to see who wins the first round...
    The concept of Moon PIG is identical to that of a game of PIG or HORSE in basketball. Each game will be played on the Moon Board thus giving no unfair advantage and allows for games to be played around the world!
    Rules of Moon Pig:
    If your opponent makes a climbs a boulder problem (makes a shot), you have to also climb that same problem. If you fall, you get a letter. If you send, your opponent now gets to go again and choose a different boulder problem. If your opponent falls, now it is your turn to pick a boulder problem. Once one person spells the word PIG, they lose that round and the other person wins!
    Jeremy and I decided to play a game the other day at Movement Climbing and Fitness in Boulder, CO. The process was so much fun and it really got me psyched to do more of these.
    Let me know in the comments who you would like to see battle in the next episodes and if anyone wants to battle me!
    Thanks to Movement for letting us film in their facility (www.movementboulder.com) and to Ben Moon for creating such an awesome tool for training for climbing (www.moonclimbing.com)

    Nice work Paul! You could do so many options on this concept...like using only Benchmark problems, or only ones that are 3 star rated. Sent Ben the link to this and he said it was awesome! Look forward to the next ones.

    I like it. But maybe you could add more interaction (like different camera angles, comments/laughs from the opponent) to make it more attractive for the viewer.

      100% agreed. In addition, the explanation at the beginning was longer than it needed to be.

    Refer to slvsh, the skiing version of pig, for improvements. Different sport and all, but many inspirations can be found . For the first episode, I like it

    You guys name indoor routes? Interesting. Maybe spending too much time inside?

    • @paulrobinson87
      @paulrobinson87  6 лет назад +3

      These are not our climbs but other people's on the moon board. If you have not tried the moon board before, it is actually really fun and a good way to train for the outdoors.

      Paul Robinson gotcha thanks for the response. Guess i never heard of a moonboard, looked as nothing more than an overhung wall. Is there more to it?

    • @paulrobinson87
      @paulrobinson87  6 лет назад +3

      Yes! The moon board is an incredible invention that allows people from all over the world to climb on the same boulder problems. The holds are arranged in a specific way and the wall is set to 40 degrees overhung. Each moon board is identical which means that if I make a boulder problem in Colorado and upload it to the moon board phone app, you or anyone else in the world could be trying the exact same climb seconds later and vice versa. It is a great training tool that has infinite possibilities.

      Paul Robinson alright that is a pretty cool innovative idea. It allows your friends or fellow climbers to follow along in the same sequences! 👍nice training tool
