    I think leaving them in the same rack system is fine if bacteria based. It’s not going to jump and crawl tub to tub. The only way it can spread would be to handle the infected snake first then not sanitize and handle more snakes.

    • @RhynosRoyals
      @RhynosRoyals  8 месяцев назад

      I would be to worried of the risk of spread regardless putting infected snakes in the same rack but it's true it doesn't always spread that way. You make a great point of needing a system of decontamination between cleaning or interacting with snakes and its probably beat to practice it at all times not JUST when you suspect an illness. Thanks for watching!

    I bought a new snake, after 2 days I noticed that she had a respiratory infection. I went to the vet and now treating her with antibiotics injections. She is so much better already. I hope she wil eat after the treatment. Only 2 days left to treat her. She really needs to feed because I find her a little to skinny .

      Yeah most of the time if you can't treat it yourself a good reptile vet & antibiotics will clear up the infection quickly. I hope she starts eating for you soon. Just give her plenty of space and limit handling and stress until she is eating regularly again

    pretty sure you're not supposed to use the scxd version of the f10 as that version also has a detergent in it and I qoute:
    "F10®SCXD Veterinary Disinfectant/Cleanser has the same broad spectrum of kill as F10® SC Veterinary Disinfectant but with added detergent to provide a ‘one-step’ product for light duty cleaning and disinfection in routine hygiene applications. It is a soapy liquid with a slight pine fragrance and a green appearance."

      It is something I am going to look into for sure. Thankfully dealing with respiratory infections is not something I have to do often and using this method I have seen a lot of improvement so while I don't think using this particular brand has affected them negativity I appreciate the advise and the manner in which you delivered it. We can always refine, grow, learn and tweak our care. We have been looking to make an update to some of our older videos soon as well so this is something we could address there as well. Thanks for watching!

    • @RhynosRoyals
      @RhynosRoyals  2 года назад +1

      Thanks! And good question! I would say that would be a case by case situation. Obviously don't breed them WHILE they have an active infection because it is harder to treat and exposes the snake you're breeding them to. But once it has recovered you need to evaluate the condition of your snake just as you would any time you decide to breed. Was it eating well? If not can it recover if it starts eating? How hard was the illness on the snake? Ect. Also if the snake is a female these questions matter even more because they need better body condition. In the end, if your snake doesn't want to breed it will likely make this decision for you and not cooperate with your plans. But honestly good question!

    no popping noises or yawning but sounds more like squeaking. i first noticed that my female BP was squeaking when i was handling her while thawing out her dinner.
    i’ve given her the humidifier just in case there was a piece of substrate stuck in her nostril.
    i haven’t checked on the squeaking but i’m going to do a deep cleaning of her tank today and will listen for any squeaking noises.
    should i be concerned?

    • @RhynosRoyals
      @RhynosRoyals  Месяц назад

      It could be what we call wheezing. If it's very loud or consistent it would not be a bad idea to try the humidifier trick & see a reptile yet . For sure keep an eye on her, or more appropriately keep an ear turned towards her. Sometimes they can make that sound but it should be very rare.

    My snake is only 4 months she's been among air bubble in her throat and gaping she seems to be improving but I feel awful just because I had over wet her moss in her humidity hide and it molded and didnt notice until she stared acting weird I've done a alot of research and I used a small amount of vicks and hot water (all in different containers) and leave her in there for 10 minutes but I did call the pet store I got her from they told me to lower the humidity and raise the heat I could on do one which is lower the humidity it's hard to read her just cause she is in the stage of shedding but she's always had a lazy personality. But I'm getting all sorts of different info I'm just trying my best to make her feel better :(

    • @RhynosRoyals
      @RhynosRoyals  Год назад +1

      We all make mistakes. The important thing is that you learn from them and provide the best care possible :) Always make sure there is some humidity still especially if it is a humid hide only but just check on it and change the substrate often. Boosting your temp on your termostat is also something you will want to do . It should normally be 89 to 90 on the warm side but make it maybe 92 or so for now. Typically you want to actually raise humidity with a these kinds of things however to much humidity can lead to molding which can also cause an respiratory infection.
      As for the Vicks treatment it is somewhat similar to what I do in this video and I did research that as well and it looks like it will help as well so keep doing that.
      And yes I completely know what it is like getting all sorts of information and often different information which can be very confusing. The important thing is to keep doing your research and look for a pattern with with most people agree or that works for you. I am in the same boat quite often which is why I will be the first to tell you to always keep doing research never just one source even with my videos.
      I hope your little one gets well soon! Thanks for taking the time to comment!

    Can you explain the proper measurement for the water to F10 for the fogger? I am waiting for my fogger to arrive today.

    • @RhynosRoyals
      @RhynosRoyals  Год назад +1

      I typically use 5 ml for my fogger and for the official reptifogger which I think is about 50 ounces or 3 of your typical bottles of water. But it depends on the amount of water you use in your fogger of course. You certainly do not need much of this stuff. Good luck in helping your little ones feel better!

      I'm sorry to hear that your snake is having issues. I would return to the vet but make sure they are reptiles vets. Unfortunately there would have been more than 1 shot I think to treat them. If a full round of antibiotics are not administered the sickness typically returns. For now I would recommend keeping the enclosure very clean and not overly wet. If you can do the treat we show in this video with F10 I would recommend it as well. Possibly even switching to paper towel for now.

      Yes once a day. But remember while this helps with respiratory infections, I encourage everyone to make sure to get them into a reptile vet if you can to get antibiotics as well.
      Make sure to research and ask the vet questions as some vets will say they are for all pets but even if they say they treat exotic pets I find some vets really mean exotic mammals. Throwing money at a vet that doesn't know reptiles doesn't do the snake or your wallet any favors. I am blessed in that my local vet is an excellent reptile vet as well.

      I know it can be difficult and it is very easy for me to say behind a keyboard but try not to panic. But yes you will want to take actions. The popping noises are the most concerning in my opinion. If you do not have a reptile vet I would begin the process of seeking one now and have them looked over as well but yes take these steps and if you have other reptiles make sure to disinfect your hands and anything you used to interact with them before moving on to another animal. But make sure they are not extended out other wise they will be able to use their powerful bodies to pull back. Wait until they "stop" resisting or at least settle down a little and work into the mouth from the side.
