Great singing. For those who don't know, this is a song about two Scottish prisoners in an English jail. One is due to be executed the next morning and the other released. We believe there is a road underground that will take us back to our own folk when we die. So the one being executed will take the low road back home.
I wish I could be there and hear the amazing harmony of your voices in life! On the wings of this song I can travel across the Scottish countryside. Magic!
By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes, Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond, Where me and my true love were ever wont to gae On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond. Chorus: O ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road, And I'll be in Scotland a'fore ye, But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond. I mind when we parted, in yon shady glen, On the steep, steep side o' Ben Lomond, Where in purple hue, the hieland hills we view, And the moon looked out from the gloaming. Chorus: O ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road, And I'll be in Scotland a'fore ye, But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond. But me and my true love will never meet again On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.
this song always makes me think of my dad who would sing snippets of songs at the drop of a hat, and this was one of his favourites. Of course, much as i loved him, he coldn't sing it nearly as sweetly as these guys
"We are the Lassies, of Mac Arthur High. Of our fame we could not be prouder! We`re loyal and true to our colors White and Blue, and we`ll back the mighty Brahma`s what`er they may do..." Beat Lee!
Wonderful voice of David Hurley . Tellement emblématique du King's Singers' sound!

I remember singing along to this in the music festivals in Kenya
The exquisite tones of the unequaled David Hurley...wow.
King's Singers create a fine sound. Makes me want to return to the Highlands.
The high tenor in this song is insane
CalebTheHolyman I actually think he is singing mezosoprano
The high notes are higher than a mezzos.
His name is Julian Gregory
Actually, it's David Hurley. He joined The King's Singers in 1990. He has been an established counter-tenor.
@@mthayer1184 Yes, and possessing the sweetest, most exquisite countertenor voice I've ever heard.
