I am not a bah bumbug person, I have one as a husband. Still, he helps put up each Christmas each year because he knows I love it. He is a grumpy soul and is proud of it! I loved this Myer ad for Christmas because it made me laugh and made me think of my lovely man. Thanks, Myer, for the chuckle.
What message! That It's OK to damage other people's property? That vandalism is OK? What if someone vandalised your house, would you find that OK? It is a well made ad and I enjoyed it... until the girl gives the creature the shoes and they go destroying decorations together. I don't think it's a good message. Christmas is about love, peace, joy, etc. I think there was an opportunity here to turn it into a positive message - even the grinch turned good. And I like the story of the grinch. It's a no from me.

Horrendous ad, I deplore violence and having been with an abusive ex partner that caused damage to things that were precious to me, that’s all I see. Violence can be triggering to many. A creature’s violent acts to ruin someone else’s magic. Finishing with the child being destructive with the creature. Deplorable. Your ad agency should be sacked, as with your director of marketing reprimanded, that gave this approval to be viewed by millions of Australian children. He is in Shopping Centres, they get so excited on Christmas Eve, children still try to stay awake to see Santa & his Reindeers in his sleigh at night dashing across the Sky with all the Presents.. Santa, Rudolph, the Reindeers & Santa’s Helpers are not aggressive, they spread the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ ie: Goodwill to all - Aggression & Violence is everywhere - it is on our TV screens day & night 24/7. Myer & the Company that created the Animated Story is a FAIL. It does not have the ‘Wonderful Christmas Spirit’ & is not suitable for Children. I think Myer has lost the plot! Ironically I bought a beautiful red dress there recently which would have been ideal to wear on Christmas Day - sadly some dye from another article has leaked and ruined the dress. 😳 (an omen?)
