Excellent! That critter killer... I can just imaging the dupes enjoying their time in the mess hall, when the Rancher walks in all glum and tired; "Muffin's egg hatched....looks like we'll have to send her off to the pool." The festivities die down as all the dupes put down their drinks and look dejectedly into the watery depths of their mugs, each mumbling under their breath, "only eight, no more, no less"
For cleaning the water of germs you can use the radioactive ore and make doors in the shape of an L. Drop the water on top, let it go over the top of the doors, the go back the other direction under the doors and by then it should be cleaned germs (or more doors can be added to help). Usually 2-3 doors should be enough.
I love this build. Finally getting enough experience to understand what you do. Really great kill box and surely easy to make for myself. This game has a ton of real physics and other sciences to really make it enjoyable. Thank you, and more please?
That is awesome! As a new player some of the concepts and different builds etc. can seem very complex, but with a little bit of time it feels great to understand it! Believe it, we have all been there! There is definitely more coming :)
I know this vid is from a year ago but I am not sure how your kill chamber works as it is designed. The filter gates only delay green signals, not red. So all the doors will just close at the same time. I can only get it to work by putting not gates after the filter gates for each door. Am I missing something?
I came up with a similar design. But one problem tho, the water will overpressurize the tile below for some reason. So you need to build the tiles below with airflow tiles.
Hi Im getting back to critter killer. Looks like there is a glitch with that build. I dont know why, but third time I was building its suddenly not working properly. After critters killed, doors are open and some portion of the water is gone. Need to refill
Are you planning on replacing gas filter with gas element sensor + gas shutoff at some point? It's little bit weird that you can save 110W of usage just with it. I'm also following your LP to get some good tips and tricks, thank you for those! Currently struggling with power and heat myself.
I'm actually going to use the Filtered Pump Mod as soon as I have access to plastic. In my opinion that should be in the game, it does the same thing as you are describing, just faster and easier. At the beginning of the game I just use the filter because it's fast and easy, but you are absolutely right, with shutoff and sensor a lot of power can be saved. I'm glad you enjoying the LP though :)
I should probably show off how to do that in a video. It's really just convenience of setting it up. Later on I will use exclusively the Smart Pumps Mod once I have access to plastic, since this is something that should be in the game from the start in my opinion, just like Pliers. I'm glad you enjoyed the video though!
Don't forget, if you go to the Star map and select your current planet, you can see what geysers and volcanoes you have on your world. Can confirm, you've got Metals for days! And water... this planet will be entirely self reliant
I know this function exists, but I barely ever use it, especially on the first 2 planetoids. Later on I do. I like to be surprised, haha. The Cobalt and Aluminum Volcanoes on the bottom were 100% genuine surprise, I expected a Saltwater Geyser :D But Metal for days sounds good, alone these 2 will cover most of everything, especially Aluminum is invaluable!
@@BierTier what do you mean by "full tiles"? I tried this critter killer. But pips not drowning. Them going to the upper tile that is fully submerged with about 900 kg of water and still not drowning.
900kg is not enough. You need to overfill it, literally until it is overflowing with the doors closed, then open the doors and mop up the spill on the sides. Wall walking critters are weird in that regard :)
Yeah, that was not intentional. Later I will have to enter this room again anyways, so then I'll try to fix it. For right now I just rushed to get it done to take advantage of the dormant vent!
I dunno how everybody gets away with building fire poles all over the place. Even when I clear out the starting biome entirely I barely have enough copper ore to handle the demand even without building those resource hogs.
You can build them out of any ore, doesn't have to be copper. They efficiency gain(especially later, but also not to underestimate early on) outweigh the resource costs drastically :)
I copied the drecko ranch. I made it into a blueprint. Blue Prints are king in this game, saves so much time. Only issue is it takes a hot minute to get it built and running. For new players I would recommend building the first half and later on build another one or expanding. unless you got like 10 dupes. but with 3-4 😂😂.
Oh yeah, it definitely takes a bit to build, but it is definitely worth it in the long run. I built it roughly around cycle 100 in this Let's Play and I'm past cycle 600 right now. Still going strong like day 1, haha. And blueprints do most definitely help!
Why are you doing smooth hatches, they lose 25% of the metal ore? Better to waste a gold biome on some early/mid-game refineries. I get the stone hatches since they are generally better than regular hatches. Also, get both dreko's even though you could starvation ranch all excess. in a room full of hydrogen that just has two sharing stations.
You are right, Smooth Hatches will loose 25%. But It won't matter too much, I will have plenty of metal, so I don't mind. There will also be a starvation ranch for Dreckos later, I think I mentioned that before, but I'm not sure if I actually said it out loud.

Haha 😂 Omg, that’s the best thing I have read in a while 😂
@@BierTier - There are NINE Pieces of Eight!
It's so cool that the tradition of drowning creatures to get stuff has not changed since the times of Minecraft
Whatever is most efficient to get what you want, haha 😂
@@BierTier Yup
I tried to drown the pacu, but it didn't work.
Nono, it works. It just takes up to 25 cycles ;)

I love your builds! Very well designed. I've learned a ton by watching your videos. I can't want to implement them in my own playthroughs.
Thank you, I appreciate it and love to hear that you get something out of it for your own games as well :)

I have not encountered that issue, has been working for many cycles now without anything breaking. Not sure where the problem is with your design!

Hi sir! Just wondering why not using mechanical filters? (gas valve connected to itself). nice quality video as per usual!
I should probably show off how to do that in a video. It's really just convenience of setting it up. Later on I will use exclusively the Smart Pumps Mod once I have access to plastic, since this is something that should be in the game from the start in my opinion, just like Pliers.

how high is the critter drop off in that killbox? can't seem to find it in the video. :)
amazing build my guy!
The critter drop off is 3 tiles high :)
Thank you, I appreciate it!
lol, i meant how high is the wrangle in that thing for the critter drop off. proper english, sorry @@BierTier
Ohhh, you mean the settings of the drop off! Maximum, no auto-wrangle! Once 4 critters are in there, the kill function activates :)
thank you very much! :))@@BierTier
great content anyway thanks for all the tips
I’m glad you enjoy it, thanks!
If the Drecko's aren't getting drown when put in here what am I missing?
why pips are not drowning?
Pips will drown, but the tiles need to be full. If not, they will not drown on the top tile. Same with Dreckos!

Working on it, hopefully finishing it today for tomorrows release. But no promises :)
Chlorine in that steam room might be a pain because Chlorine doesn't have very good heat capacity to help cool the steam.

That uranium vein is worring me, and you dont have a triple layered plastic tile to fend of that radiation(seriously now, this game makes no sense)
