Forging a hand held Flatter from the BIGGEST spring ive ever seen!!
This spring is from a big lorry here in the uk, i dont know what it is made of all i know is it hardens in oil with heat treatment really well. I have made a lot of small tooling from this but i want to create a lot more and see what it serves best for, PLUS i will make myself some new tools for the workshop.
the hand held flatter is the perfect blacksmithing tool for one person forging when there is no smith and striker. ive been wanting to make a flatter for years now, and finally managed to make one. i would like to make some more tools like this, hand held easy to transport tooling.
