We have been a dysfunctional franchise for a long time and I can see the frustration that he had with this team. The man is still young just like a lot of people that’s making comments about him. My childhood hero was Dave Casper, and I got to meet him at football camp, early 80's. I was a Tackle on offense, but changed to TE, unbeknownst to my coach back home, just to get first hand looks from him. Great story... Joe freaking Kleko? 28 was a great Raider but 8 wasn't the same guy. All this talk about how we don't have a RB since he left is ridiculous. He only averaged 3.5 YPC last year which shouldn't be too tall a task for White and Mattison. Part of last year was on the OL but a lot of it was him coming in out of shape. Good move by Telesco not overpaying an aging injury prone RB.

I am not sure if we carry 5 safeties on the roster, but if we only keep 4 , which one of the 4 get cut? Chris Smith, Isaiah Palo Mau, Trey Taylor/Marcus Epps?

I've been a fan since 92. I was in high school during the Gruden-Gannon era. Its amazing how old that team was. Sucks about the tuck rule, Siragusa flop, and botched SB 11th hour game plan change. They should have won at least one sb in that 3 year span.
On the Derek Carr point I agree, none of us can deny there were games where we were screaming at him and ripping out hair, and games where we thought he was the best thing since sliced bread. He was put in a bad situation during his time here and was wildly inconsistent after 2016 as a player.Nonetheless, the one consistent thing about him is his class as a human. He’s a stand up and humble dude who always showed love for his team and Raider Nation. He truly cares about the Raiders, he said so himself countless times.Much respect to him. JJ was one of my favorites. Loved to watch him run. No clue why he'd talk smack about the Raiders. So, he talks shit about us, but we were good enough for him to collect a paycheck for 5 years even though he made it through one full season. F*** him... kick rocks.
I watched 2 minutes and I believe they moved on for a few facts, everyone knows that running backs are replaceable and cost plays a factor, but he never caught the ball well out of the backfield, he does not make tacklers miss, and he took away from others in terms of team concept. Not saying he isn't a great back and not a good teammate, but not the right fit going forward. Done, that is easy.

The raiders clearly didn't want to pay 1 RB they want to use a committee of RBs and they took the money they could have spent on Jacobs and signed garner Menshew with that money. Jacobs got the deal he was looking for BOTH PARTIES got what they wanted out of the situation.

Matthew Butler or Nesta Jade Silvera (maybe Byron Young?)
I am not sure if we carry 5 safeties on the roster, but if we only keep 4 , which one of the 4 get cut? Chris Smith, Isaiah Palo Mau, Trey Taylor/Marcus Epps?

I've been a fan since 92. I was in high school during the Gruden-Gannon era. Its amazing how old that team was. Sucks about the tuck rule, Siragusa flop, and botched SB 11th hour game plan change. They should have won at least one sb in that 3 year span.
On the Derek Carr point I agree, none of us can deny there were games where we were screaming at him and ripping out hair, and games where we thought he was the best thing since sliced bread. He was put in a bad situation during his time here and was wildly inconsistent after 2016 as a player.Nonetheless, the one consistent thing about him is his class as a human. He’s a stand up and humble dude who always showed love for his team and Raider Nation. He truly cares about the Raiders, he said so himself countless times.Much respect to him. I think Jacobs made a logical decision, hes a competitor coming from Bama too, wanting to be in the playoffs again. He gets a bigger check and a hotter roster in GB.

some never been… let alone win 3. Basically, Raiders blew it with the opportunity to truly rebuild when they traded Mack away.
Even if Gruden was forced out they should have still had assets to still be on this team or trade for more assets.

Derek Carr did not take a discount for the Raiders. When he signed his last contract with the Raiders he was the highest paid QB at that moment.

JJ was one of my favorites. Loved to watch him run. No clue why he'd talk smack about the Raiders. So, he talks shit about us, but we were good enough for him to collect a paycheck for 5 years even though he made it through one full season. F*** him... kick rocks.
I watched 2 minutes and I believe they moved on for a few facts, everyone knows that running backs are replaceable and cost plays a factor, but he never caught the ball well out of the backfield, he does not make tacklers miss, and he took away from others in terms of team concept. Not saying he isn't a great back and not a good teammate, but not the right fit going forward. Done, that is easy.
Jacobs off field irresponsible drunk driving twice busted didn't help. Then he holds out. That was what sealed his boot out the door. Nobody to blame but himself. This is the reality of the jacobs situation. The raiders clearly didn't want to pay 1 RB they want to use a committee of RBs and they took the money they could have spent on Jacobs and signed garner Menshew with that money. So we have a full RB room STILL with another QB who ISNT an OLD WASHED UP BUM with the money we could have spent on Jacobs. Jacobs got the deal he was looking for BOTH PARTIES got what they wanted out of the situation.
