Already have my level 25 build mapped out. Only summons I'm going to use are the mages. Rest will be Decompose, Blight, Corpse Explosion (shadow version), Decrepify and Army of the Dead. Also, there is information out there about the Shadow Mages. They deal shadow damage and their two options are 1) every sixth attack they deal an additional attack or 2) they have a 10% chance to stun for 2.13s (what a random amount of time), but it cannot happen on the same enemy more than once every five seconds. Their sacrifice buff is you gain 15 maximum essence (not worth it at all). Another thing is that your summoning skills all take up one slot out of six each, so if you want all three types, that's three of six skill slots. So unless you can just sacrifice your minions and then swap their summoning skills off of your bar and replace them with something else without losing the buffs, none of them are worth it in the slightest. Iron Maiden deals 10% damage at rank 1 (not sure if it's your damage or enemy damage) any time an enemy tries to deal damage. Doesn't say if it's melee specific or ANY damage though.
@@Mech_Tzeentcha Then why are they clearly being show on the skill bar? Both the Golem and Skeletal Warrior/Mage icons are on the bar, and they even show what looks like the Golem health (or cooldown) bar on the skill bar over the icon too. Do you really believe that you would open up the book of the dead mid-fight every single time you want to summon something? That would be clunky as hell, and also rather impossible to play on Hardcore with. What is being shown in the book are minion options, not a way to actually summon them. It looks exactly like the way D3 did it.
Personally, I'm worried about the corpse/minion mechanic, if you like the minion master trope and love to spec into powerful minions who will do all the heavy lifting, as soon as a big boss stomps them, because they always do, and without a steady supply of corpses, taking down said boss is going to be a nightmare
Well if you choose a build that makes you heavily dependent on minions killing bosses COULD be a potential downside of that build. But there are upsides too, like how it's probably a very safe class, with all your allies blocking attacks. Too early to tell, but I kind of hope it ends up like that! No single build should be the safest AND be the most efficient at killing bosses imo.
@@ryanarcher6231 I did, but if you have played a dedicated minion master in DIablo 2, you can see that the production rate of the skill is useless to max out all the potential power of the build. It could be feasible if the maxed out minion is the golem and and the skeletons are kept as funny moving things dying with a slight gaze
