This was terrible. And I love every second of it. Y'all are too cute. I searched "how to make a paralyzer" and it brought me here. *new subscriber* Trying your recipe tomorrow😎
On top of the regular vodka paralyzer which I like, there’s also a bubblegum paralyzer I like to make as well which calls for blue curaçao, banana liqueur and 7up instead of the usual vodka kahlua Pepsi mix I’m used to. I honestly like making those a lot more
@@boozeontherocks I usually go an ounce for both, but you can do half and half. Also it’s not mine, I just decided to try making it at home myself one night after having it served to me at a bar
@@boozeontherocks also I don’t exactly know if cream would work because I usually use milk instead, but it couldn’t hurt to try with cream instead of you really like it over just using milk. Either way it’s really good, and I’d say the measurements are really up to you, but because I usually have it in a conventional tall glass, for me it’s mainly ounce of each, then fill to almost the top with 7up, then top it off with the rest being milk
This video was great. Being from south central Kentucky in the US I usually drink alot of bourbon cocktails. But I also like a good strong drink on occasion. Cheers !!
I've never heard of them being made like this. Canadian taboot! 😉🇨🇦 That said, if I did, I'd have been even more hammered than I was during my paralyzer heyday! Gonna have to try this on a mardigras weekend. Aka payday month that's got three cheques. Thanks you two, my hangover to yas both!!!
Ive lived in Canada for 43years and never heard of tequila in a paralyzer and paralyzers are my favorite!! Whiskey paralyzers..... Thats the Canadian version you should try!! CHEERS!!
I just made one with that mcgillicudys butterscotch schnapps thing and kahlua but its not too milk heavy, its basically 50/50 and almost looks like chocolate milk
Some friends and I discovered paralyzers during the 1980s on a trip to Kananaskis, Alberta and they didn't put the vodka in and that's how we've been making them since then and we drink a lot of them! Doesn't the vodka make them a bulldog?
Yes and no. It depends on how you like it. I was first introduced to it with vodka in it. But I always put the tequila in. So it is up to you. although the recipes are very similar.
vodka plus kalhua = Black russian, plus cream = white russian, plus coke = Colorado bull dog plus, tequila = Paralizer.... that's how we memorized them back at the bartendig school...anyway...i stick only at the first 2... the others, in my modest opinion, were crazy 80's inventions. :P
So, this drink is similar to the mind eraser. It’s meant to be shared and meant to be consumed all at once. Both drinks, in my experience are served with at least two straws, you count down and suck until the drink is gone! Sort of like an inverted shot. This is not a cocktail for sipping!!
This is NOT the Canadian Paralyzer I grew up with in the 80's/90's.. When they came out in the 80's it was tequila but soon everyone only wanted vodka.. They would ask which you wanted. As far as the cocktail, they mixed it wrong in this video. Milk/cream goes in last, always! You can see the curdle/separation in their drink and that's because of the wrong order. It also is only 2 layers.. brown bottom white mix top. Not multi layers. A canadian paralyzer is vodka or tequila only, kahlua, coke and milk. Cream makes it a Colorado Bulldog. A Canadian paralyzer is not meant to be super rich.. Rather, light and easy to drink. The net shows so many variations in quantity but from memory it was 1 ounce each of liquor and 3 ounces coke then topped with milk 2-3 ounces.
This is most definitely not how to make a paralyzer. First of all the lady is annoying, and second no one ever adds 2 ounces of tequila? It’s 1 ounce vodka, 1 ounce khalua, milk and coke
Thank you :) you have put a great smile on my face :D and something I will mix for sure ;)
I hope you likeit.
Another drink to add to my "must-try list". Another great video brought to you by Eryn with a little help from Dave.....
Yes. The Eryn Show...... Another fun episode

Thank you for checking us out. Please let me know how it turns out for you.
Same. Every sentiment you shared. So cheesy, yet so endearing. Absolutely Canadian.

I will have to try it. What are the total specs for your version?

Me and my old man used to mix up a batch each in our containers when we would go sledding or ATVing.

I substitute the cream for international delight souther pecan butter......must try it's amazing
That sounds like an interesting substitute. I will definitely try it.

Hahah nice vibe the both of you, well done 👍🏼
Thank you!! 😁
Careful David, someone is trying to take over your show 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I love your channel i have learned a lot from you ....
Thank you very much :)
I'm making this one.
I hope you like it.
Thankyou
You’re welcome 😊
Great video. Teaching a non expert to make a drink is not something you see on videos. It makes for a fun video to watch.
Thank you. It was fun to make. She has been in 3 other videos. I will see about having her more of them.
And she's back! Haha, flannel towel.
I watched the cream curdling at one point when the camera was zoomed in. Can't do those paralizers.
I know. It looks strange but it was really good. And yes she was back.
What would you suggest as a replacement for the Tequila?
Hi Chuck. You can leave the Tequila out and it will still be great.
Enjoy your show. One of the best ones out there.
@@solarisadmin thank you very much.
It's been twenty years since I've had vodka paralyzer because I moved to Australia twenty years ago.. my favorite drink ! 🥛
It is a good one for sure.
😂😂 I LOVE IT!
It is really good.
Can you do it with a dark rum? Like Matusalem
Sure you could. Replace the vodka with rum, and do not add the tequila. And play around with your ratios until you get what you like.
I said that was a nice and smooth operation coming from James Michael Daniels
Very Smooth
You guys make a great team! Great to see this! Keep them coming!
thank you very Much. We will.
I love you guys!
Good save on the Tito's. That stuff ain't cheap.
No it's not.
Good video
Thank you.

Yes the Paralizer is a great Canadian invention. Super Crazy 80's. You either love'em or hate 'em.
@@boozeontherocks most definitely!
Anyone else notice how badly Erin wanted to lick the spoon LOL🤣
Oh yes. She definitely wanted to though. You can see it.
Wring that towel with all the booze and the coke over a collins glass filled with ice and you almost get a Long Island Iced Tea, Canadian Style 😉
Lol... you got it :)
Good catch on the party foul Dave
You bet. Always !!
She is amazing! 😍
Yes she is.
XD even though im Canadian i also came across this because i was gonna make white russians lol
LOl.. we gotta sick togetther. Happy New Years!!
@@boozeontherocks Happy New Years from Alberta!
Eeehhhhh my favourite drink :) except i never add the tequila. I find that causes the cream to curdle.
I really enjoyed this one. I can see why you would not want the tequila. I'll have to try it without it.

Definitely not. its a slam it down cocktail.
If I'm able to land my new job, I'm going to save up to where I can afford to get what's needed to make this drink.
I do admit this does a hvae a fair amount of ingredients for sure.
I feel that Pepsi comment was directed at the southern brothers.
nope/ Personal choices. My wife likes Pepsi.
Well she likes Pepsi so it proves she has taste!
@@kevinstringham237 So you say
That actually looks like it’s curdled a little
The alcohol gives it that appearence, but when you stir it that goes away.
Replace the cream with chocolate milk …..and
you’re welcome.
You know, thats a great idea, I will try it.
where's your plaid shirt Eryn???
The paid force was not with her this day.
Is Erin old enough to drink? :)
Yes

Yes the Vodka....

8 minutes to make a drink...not in my house..
