Years ago i read Candide. After many adventures he travels to Turkey, where he has been told an old man knows the meaning of life. He knocks on the door, and asks him what is the meaning of life. The old Turk replies , " Just tend your garden"., and shuts the door. Whenever I feel it's to much I remember this.
Always look fore ward to your videos. At a time when life is not very good, they help to relax me. Greeting from NE England (Land of much rain).

I subscribed to your channel long ago because you inspire me with your fearlessness to learn, apply, share. The world is noisy, but it’s intentionally so. The more we distance ourselves from algorithms and prepared ‘news,’ the better off we are. But if we all focused on home and beauty (Philippians 4:8) (as you’re a good example of) wouldn’t the world be a better place? That’s what I’m reminding myself to do. I’ve also actively sought out the ‘good’ ones in the new town I’m in - gardeners and knitters/crocheters are always good people, I figured, so I found a homesteading ladies’ gathering and a yarn shop community afternoon to attend. God bless you!

Im a gardener for a living in Florida...and the things you relate here speak to me quite clearly sometimes. I really enjoy your channel, new as it is to me. This video in particular, where Indeed has the good gone, in people, our fellow humans? So many seem to have lost the things that make them..human..their humanity. Life is supposed to be about love, and yet there's so much hate these days. It's hard to feel positive when we are surrounded by so much negativity. I've raised my kids, done my duty as a father...and now wonder what is next for me...what's my role now? Watching you somehow makes me feel there's others out there that feel like I do, and hope is not lost. Keep being your great self! You give me hope in humanity...when it's hard to find sometimes.

everyone questions "where has the goodness gone?" there is goodness in everything if you look for it, your animals give you goodness, your gardens are goodness, your small community has goodness too, so don't give up on it
the simple things in life are usually the best & highly under appreciated, am the same with my little cottage, chooks & cats, it's peaceful & purposeful if you can make it work, so stop worrying about what's on the news, (unless life threatening), this is why you moved to your own homestead, to get away from the pressures of society
please keep your videos going, even one every couple of months would still be nice, take us for a tour around all your beautiful flowers that are blooming; or "a day in the life of ..." etc
learning self sufficiency is not the easy way out like some think it is; you have done a brilliant job getting your home & land useable, love watching your improvements, your struggles, you keeping it real & telling us your downs & ups, it's all part of the process
thanx for taking us along on your journey

As someone who is a constant consumer of news (my YT is about 90% news and it says I watch/ listen to 12 hrs a day average), it is a bit overwhelming and can lead to some pretty depressing thoughts.
However, it's channels like yours that get my attention away from the madness and brings me back down to earth. The news cycle isn't everyone, community and locals are what we should all be gathering around.

Its so uncommon to see a beautiful, kind and caring person all in one place and from what you were saying you know that too. The world has so much turmoil in it. This is exactly what I needed to hear this morning. In a world and at a time with so much heaviness, being reminded to seek out kindness and goodness was the mental refuge I needed to escape to for a bit. As I contemplated your message, I decided to extend my work break just a little longer. Grabbed another cup of coffee and watched a pair of wrens busily flip over leaves in their search for breakfast and a fledgling cardinal try to learn the ropes of using the feeder. Little things that hopefully sprout roots of contentment and happiness. Thank you for bringing kindness and goodness to our day.

I know it’s going to be hard work. Your videos are calming, inspiring, informative. I recently had shoulder surgery and no one to help with my garden, so now almost everything is dead or dying, has stink bugs, leaf footed bug’s & hornworms. A lot of my veggies are damaged because of them. But your video today makes me feel better. Makes me not want to give up, to see what comes next. Show us how you overcome any obstacles you encounter. Thank You 🙏🏻 Have a Blessed rest of the week. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

If you share whatever brings you joy and contentment, it will bring your viewers the same. I follow your channel because I like you. I enjoy seeing what matters to you. There are so many channels that are educational, but I prefer the ones that are mainly personal. That's what pulls me in. Getting to know the person making the videos. What interests you? Show that. If sipping a cup of coffee and reveling in your beautiful garden interests you, show that. If showing your love for your dogs means something to you, show that. Don't worry about being monotonous. If you're interested in what you're showing us, we'll feel that. This may be a corny saying, but you go, girl!

It would be interesting to see how you are able to run this homestead all by yourself while maintaining a full time job. I have a small, very busy, urban homestead and when I worked full time on top of that I was BUSY. I'm also doing it alone. People always ask me what are you going to do with all of that food that I am growing or why I'm doing all of that. I suspect that your reasons are similar and there are most likely others like us out there. Show in your channel that it is possible. I remember one time I prepared my garden in the spring while it was raining; crazy, but that was my day off and I didn't have the luxury to wait out the rain. Homesteading is that important to me which is someting that many people can't understand.

Every now and then you have to do some emotional and spiritual sanitation by only giving energy to the things that you can control. Now I know as an empath that is going to be difficult for you and the things going on in the world definitely weigh heavy on my soul especially our human family seemingly losing its ability to the love and care for one another. Terra Nova Acres is one of your many positive contributions even if you may not see it clearly. Showing people how to grow healthy organic food for themselves, giving people insight on how to live healthier, so focus on you and the life that you're cultivating and nurturing on your homestead. Some of the things that are troubling you most you have absolutely no control over so do the sanitation and throw it away. You don't hold on to or horde trash at home. You throw it away so do the same mentally, emotionally and spiritually. #sagestrong

But, I’ve also been blessed by people on RUclips as well. You’re providing a space that may not be for everyone, even I am not able to see every video of every channel I find value in. But, when I do tune in it’s the calm that I’m attracted to or the inspiration I needed to keep at my garden, or my weeding because when I get to the end I too will have the beautiful background like you have, to rest my eyes on. You're on to something really big here Sage. I was interested in starting my own channel and learned authenticity was the common factor among many successful creators. It's the secret sauce of motivation as a meaningful life is a life of meaning. Kudos to you also for taking the time to reflect and having the courage to share your feelings. Many disillusioned are trying to find better, bigger and more life hacks while missing the beautiful nuances of learning, growing and building things together. There's honesty and pride in making and doing your own even in failure and that's missing in modern society as well. As you back up the bus and reconnect with yourself here, you're helping others to do the same and that's amazing. I'm looking forward to your takes and episodes of the @SheSaidHomestead podcast so please keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing you on the @theJustinRhodesShow channel soon. ;)

I love watching your videos either way. I did not know about the She Said Homestead Podcast but I subscribed! I'll still watch, you have a very calming voice and I prefer learning from women (because I was raised by all women with no father around).
I have the issue where I bought a place that ended up being a money pit. I already have half of the cost of my mortgage in loans just to maintain. I haven't even got to redo anything inside yet lol...after 8 years. I'm thankful but it's tough knowing that I made a bad decision that I can't easily get out of because of the housing market. I would end up paying more to rent sadly! It feels like a huge roadblock and I'm always waiting on the next "bad" thing to happen.
I'm wishing I would have found somewhere with more than 1.1 acres (yes there's 90 more acres behind me but they aren't mine). I do have permission to use but not for homesteading purposes (yet).
I know it's a rough time to tune out on the news but I have been trying to do that as much as possible. It makes me so much happier ignoring it all.

Was just reading about a growing number of folks who are exhausted by the social media dream of " homesteading" partic solos. Beyond the farm, the world stage is alarming atm, fascism on the rise in many places including, your country. It does feel as if the good is out of reach these days. I hear ya. I think many feel this way. But, I spoke with an old activist friend recently and he said something that stuck, "fight the dragon thats closest." Hey Tegan (😉). Crazy question, would you want to help in the mission to Unite distribution sites and other aid? I'm on the outside working with groups that are sending people in and we are trying to organize for better support. (Think outside of Asheville, where resources and space are issues). ❤

Please 🙏 don’t stop homesteading. Your posts are so informative to so many people. You’re doing God’s work.
Or just audition for “ Survivor “ . You’d probably win it all. 💵💰💵💰
PS …. I watch way too much news on tv 📺. We can’t control what’s going on halfway around the world 🌎. That’s why your videos are so important. They take all of us away from the chaos.

    Well said, Sage
You don’t get 8000 + subscribers by putting out content that people don’t want to see. I enjoy all your videos whether they’re just of you working or doing one like today.
I agree with you about the news. I had to go down to two days a week. If anything really major happens you’re going to hear about it anyway.
I see good people and good things happening every day.
Would you please type out the name of your podcast. I looked for it but couldn’t find it.
    Have a good day.

If what you are doing is beginning to create too much of a stress level take the time for a reset. I will say that the journey of life is and has always been very stressful, no one owes you anything!! Like the rest of the human race, you are born into a world of uncertainty, and you must fight to survive. Life will slap you in the face daily and you will meet new struggles daily. Learning to be a problem solver rather than a complainer or victim is your only chance for survival. How about you think about a podcast that will give people a platform to express their concerns about where we are at and where we are going as a human race if we continue down the path we are on. So many people are starving for a different point of view on life. The role we play in relationships is a very interesting topic and has many avenues to explore. Men and women could learn from the right content on relationships, and you could still share your journey on the progress of your homestead. You seem to have a beautiful spirit, but you like so many others are hurting inside and drowning in uncertainty. Hope you figure it out. Stay well pretty lady and be strong.

I hope this verse falls on your heart in the garden as it does mine, because when I’m in my garden, I see God everywhere - Jeremiah 29:11🤍
