There were cool scenes in the newer seasons but nothing has outdone the scene where Morty and Summer dig up the Dead Rick's portal gun. Oh and the writing has for sure gotten sloppy.

As much as I loved "The Rickshank Redemption" when it first aired, I felt like it undid everything the season 2 finale set up by backpedaling on Rick’s sacrifice and getting rid of the federation within a single episode. It would’ve been so much better if we got a full season where we witnessed the consequences of the federation takeover of Earth, Rick’s prison life, and how the family copes without Rick in their lives. Instead, we got a boring Jerry and Beth divorce plot that didn’t need to exist.
