Max Roach's "Conversation" - Joe La Barbera & Sinclair Lott

Max Roach recorded "Conversation" on his 1958 album "Deeds, Not Words."
He felt strongly that a drummer should be able to perform a solo work much the same as guitarist Andres Segovia or pianists Art Tatum and Fats Waller. The solo relies heavily on "Call and Response" motifs, so the idea of arranging this as a duet seemed quite logical.
The performers are Joe La Barbera and Sinclair Lott. Transcription and arrangement by Charles Levin. Mixed by Rich Breen. Video editing by Edward La Barbera.
