We're starting to see more and more titanium watches in the affordable range. One thing this watch has over the new Oris skeletonized titanium is that you can see the balance wheel and escapement from the front.
I'd convinced myself I didn't like skeleton watches, but realised I just didn't like chunks hacked out of a normal dial. Now I have two Ciga Design watches and I love them - it actually made me go and learn a little about how mechanical watches actually function. Now I'm hooked.
Jody, you’re killing me, more specifically, my bank account. Now I want one of these. If you just want to tell the time, then just wear a Casio F-91 everyday. This is a nice piece to look at, more like a piece of jewelry but you can still tell the time.
I just received mine - love it ! Super comfortable with the silicone straps! My favorite watch (out of all my copy collection!). The Seagull movement is an excellent positive! Beautiful watch!!!’

Wow you got it so fast! I am one of the backers here! It is amazing what you can get for less than USD 300! Not adding a date is an excellent choice. I can set it and just go. Date function is grossly overstated IMO. Looking so good in Titanium! That muted grey is something i like. Low profile while premium. Had too many SS watches so this is a nice change. Buy this if you like 1) Skeletonised watches 2) Barrel shaped 3) Something premium feeling but affordable 4) Simple reliable movement instead of multi complications 5) Affordable and don't want to pay Swiss premium for a watch 6) Titanium matte look, and the lightness of it.
Having 60+ diver watches. I'm ready to buy a few skeletons. 7 are on the way including this. I quit the drugs and alcohol. Watches are my only addiction now. Much better investment and no more trips to the nut house or emergency room. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
When I wear a watch I like to be able to read the time...AT A GLANCE!!! This thing I couldn’t read at a stare! Not for me I suppose, but I would like a nice open heart. I love watching that mainspring spin!!! 💞
Interesting watch. Huge bargain given the work involved in making a skeletonized titanium case and low unit volume curved sapphire crystal . I think that raspy rotor noise would drive me bonkers over time, but still it's great to look at. It's mind boggling what Chinese manufacturing can do at bargain price points.
I have the stainless version of this watch and i very much like it. Did a review on it a bit back. Don't feel the need to get this one however, like my heavier watches. 😉
Industrial and noisy, the Perfect Watch to annoy, spinout Your Snoring Yuppy, just bought a Grand Seiko Duty-free Mate, on a twenty two hour flight! I could live with one, love the see-through split cushion along with the dressy crown guards. Great Show JOMW.
Richard Mille watches are so expensive that even the Apollo program seems like a bargain in comparison. I'll never grow tired of taking a dig at ridiculously priced watches.

Right off the bat...they could avoid the skeleton hands to improve visibility; simple fence post hands with the current red & white design would be good along with a minimum of 50-100atm would bring some peace of mind. Apart from that this looks like a solid piece

Wasn’t expecting to hear dialogue in the opening, but a bit of Arnie was indeed appropriate in this watch’s review! On the one hand, I agree that a $250 titanium Richard Mille homage is a nice value, but I’m not fond of skeleton-ized watches. Great review though, Jody!
You should have absolutely no problem swimming (but not diving!) in this watch. 3 atm is enough pressure to pop your ears if you dive that low too quickly. It is certainly not child's play! Plus why on earth would you want to dive in this watch?? It would be completely impossible to read under water anyways and everyone who is serious about diving nowadays wears a dive computer not a mechanic watch lol.
My daughter's boyfriend really loves the Richard Mille but like 99% of civilized society, can't afford one so this is the PERFECT substitute for a Christmas present. Cheers

I have the SS version only a week ago. Looking for the looks and its a good watch. For the price, can't complaint much. Legibility not a strong point for a skeleton. The rubber strap is nice, I got the red one but the leather is rubbish!
Hey Jodi! I love your videos, but there's one thing I have noticed: You seem to use the term "genuine leather" as a sign of quality, which is isn't in most cases. Genuine leather today often means the lowest grade of leather work, top grain being the middle grade and full grain the top grade. Seeing "genuine leather" on something made of leather usually should stop you from buying it, as it's mostly shredded paper covered with cloth and a very thin layer of leather - that's especially the case with watch straps or belts. Those watch straps that feel like a cushion? Cut one apart and you'll see a non-leathery surprise inside. ;) There's a reason why Horween straps don't say "genuine leather", as they are made of at least top grain leather I guess. Thought you might be interested in this! Cheers!

Yes had buy a few of these on crowdfunding Jody, for the design, they presented well in the box like book but I also thought the band looked terrible on the campaign...but was going to gift 🎁 one or two therefore replacing the crappy pretend luxury band with a red nato I had thought 💭. Great 👍 review as always, I think it is a great conversation piece on the wrist, no RM which you can spend up 1M+ USD on, I saw one for 850K the other day that looked like plastic that could of passed for a swatch if it didn’t have a tourneau case.
I've just managed to pick up one of the original Ciga Design skeleton watches (apple watch shape) for $100 in the AliExpress black Friday sale, now comes the slow boat from China part. I've had to buy a Spinnaker just to tide me over in the mean time, maybe Just one more...

Certainly looks like a watch the Terminator would wear once its "organic" skin is all melted away and only the metal skeleton is left. Terminator looks at the time on his Ciga Design Z Series Titanium watch and says, "I'll be back!"
It is a very attractive watch, but I wish they could have possibly colored the minute/hour markers in red (to match the hands) and possibly spung for a NH35 instead of a Seagul.
I'd rather have the seagul over an nh35 by Sieko. The Seagul holds better time but both last around 25 to 30 years if maintained right. Might need a new spring about 20 years as the time gets worse its time to change the spring which isn't that hard to do.... great watch! I got the gold one for 300$
The name is the issue for me. Ciga Design. It sounds like the name of your average interior design company. Not exactly your most creative name. If they just use the word Ciga, it will be nicer.
Its quiet amazing how cheap the internals of this watch lock for its prize and keeping in mind that, being able to see the internals is the whole point of this watch.
Jay Dunluan nobody is spending on hype. This design is great in my eyes. Sure some ppl might dislike it and i respect that. Simply dismiss it as a clone is simply ignorant.
I'd much rather someone wear this than a fake RM for a flex. It's cool to see this design language become more affordable, despite it not being my type.

I like the Ti. I like the sapphire. I find the crown guards and other affectations to the case design are ugly distractions. I liked the round Ciga so much more, but, based on funding, clearly many people like this one, so vive la différence.
It is quite obviously you dislike barrel shaped skeleton designs in general. I suggest you get yourself a citizen or Grand seiko which has different design and titanium as well.
Saw this and had to have one in Titanium - if the counter is to be believed only 2 left now - of course it just could be a marketing gimmick - but I would have been gutted if i'd have missed it.
Hi Jody. I really don't know how I feel about this watch. Not complaining about the price but to me, it seems hard to read the time than an average watch. I know there are people who love the skeleton watches but I am iffy on how I feel about them. It seems like it would be a comfortable watch to wear. Maybe one day my taste will change. I don't even like Richard Mill watches and they are a fortune. My tastes have changed. I used to like dress watches, now I don't like them and like more casual and sports watches as well as Chronographs which I did not think I would ever like.

Depth of focus was a bit shallow. Have you tried stopping down the aperture a few points and increasing exposure instead?

the design is nice, but being only 3atm waterproof......it's a shame for me. would be nice if it was at least 5 or 10atm waterproof!!
