One of those players that just knew exactly where the corner was and always managed to find it. He didnt always score but he was so good at getting the ball between the posts, keepers nightmare. Best penalty taker of all time. He is forgotten by many because he never really fit into Italian National Team plans as they were always defensive and already had Baggio. Sacchi never really gave him a chance as proper striker, played him out wide in midfield, shame really, I always thought Italy lacked goals during that period. World Cup in 94 was proof of that. Probably the most underrated Italian playee of all time. Also Lazio were not a European Cup challenging team so he never got much exposure outside serie A. Erikson took over Lazio and he was a defensive style manager and Signori didnt last long with Lazio after. Pity he never got to play in a Top team, could never understand why Inter where he was a youth player didnt bring him back in the 90s when he would been a perfect foil for Bergkamp.

As accomplished and revered a coach as arrigo sacchi was, he really made some bizarre calls, playing signori on the wing being one of them. Top scorer in Italy going into the world cup in 94. And he plays him out wide? No wonder he didn't get a goal in the world cup and Italy struggled in the group stage. Baggio carried it in the knockouts which they were fortunate to get to and he was a man possessed. Signori through the middle, he could have ended the tournament top goal scorer potentially. I think people don't know him as much as he was unable to replicate his spectacular club form internationally (which wasn't his fault)
