As Spanish who saw Alonso won his championships with only ten years, and suffering all this years with the cars he had, I cried when he said on radio "this is a lovely car to drive", I can't imagine how all the team must feel when they heard that.
I'm portuguese and while I was too young to remember his championships, I still feel like he's the closest driver I have to my national identity. Seeing him have great drives in horrible cars just made me wish he would finally have a good one
I've been watching Nando now for 20 years and still think his race craft is legendary 2nd only to Senna. While the rest of my fellow brits got aboard the Hamilton hype train,I'd rather cheer for people with a X factor like Nando and his mad race starts and ability to make a car go 3 tenths quicker per lap than it's capable of.Also buzzing for Aston its nice to see a British manufacturer on the up(The knives will come out now tho).... At least this season should be exciting,Vamos.🏎🏎🏎
As an Aircraft Mechanic. I love talking to the guys that make it happen. Just like in my industry pilots and drivers get all the glory but the mechanics & engineers make the world go round
Guys. I'm 51 and I've been watching F1 as long as my memory serves me. My first images comes with Alan Jones driving the Saudi white and green Williams to the world championship. So yeah, I'm old enough to have seen my share of legends driving around a circuit. I've read, listened and watched a lot about F1 this years. So this is the biggest compliment I can send you. This is one of the most amazing interviews I've ever seen. Fantastic. Entertaining. Questions well asked. Nice atmosphere. Perfect guest. You have a new follower. Keep up the good work. And, for the record, after seeing pretty much every single driver that raced since 1984 when I really got into F1, let me tell you Alonso is in the top 3. With Senna and Schumacher.
What a comment. Thank you so much. We’re having a lot of fun with it. Mikey was an amazing guest, excited to see what Aston can do this year. Enjoy the race mate👊🏻
Absolutely with you there on Alonso being top three. His F1 talent combined with his achievements in other categories is amazing. Hope he gets a win this season.
As a 38 yr old Engineer in the Royal Air Force, I have watched F1 since the age of 5. I love this sport and your podcast, I especially love it when you have engineers on, please get more engineers :D
The interaction between Fernando and the Aston Martin garage after the race is probably my favorite part of the post race events. It’s really something. Fernando understands how to motivate the garage and get them behind him. Not only is it the right thing to do but it’s very smart business.
As an Aircraft Mechanic. I love talking to the guys that make it happen. Just like in my industry pilots and drivers get all the glory but the mechanics & engineers make the world go round
as someone who's watched f1 for 10 years plus I just want to say I love your podcast! The guests so far have been awesome, hearing from other people (not just drivers) all involved in a sport i love. I'm learning so much!! thanks guys for a great podcast and don't listen to any haters x
Guys an absolute wealth of knowledge, I love that you boys get less known vets of the paddock on the pod. He really gave a different perspective on what happens behind the scenes.
Could the timing BE any more perfect for Mikey to come on. Good to hear from someone on the inside and to hear their personal experience. I really wanted to know Seb's reaction...like guys, I leave for five minutes and now you're on podiums, lol, but no, Seb is gracious as ever. These interviews keep getting better and better, loved it.
Guests setting a lap time on the sim is an ace idea. Reminds me of the golden era of Top Gear. Of course, the actual race drivers get their own ranking.
I've always been an Alonso Fan since before he won his titles. So many years of pain and hurt watching him in poor cars. This year is amazing, the feeling in get in my stomach when i see him doing well, Seeing how happy he is, seeing him enjoying the car and drive. its amazing..
What a great idea for a channel! Love to get the engineers perspectives and little behind the scenes stories and human touches to complement the crazy frontend of F1. Keep it up!
There is so much diversity on this podcast, unlike Beyond the grid which covers mostly F1 drivers, this covers from drivers to mechanics to broadcaster. Gives you better perspective. Love it!
It is so fun that you interview him. For 2 races, I have see him cheer like crazy for Alonso podium and I was curious to know who he was and what was he dooing in the team. So big thank you, my questions have been answer.
This was one of my favorite podcasts yet from you guys. Mikey is terrific. Happy to see the Silverstone team rocket up the field into the top ranks. The one thing I do not like about F1 is it’s predictability with the same few teams on top year after year after year. Great to see Lawrence Stroll, Alonso, Lance Stroll and hard working pros like Mikey Brown upset the apple cart.
Its refreshing to get a different perspective, from those behind the scenes actually working on the car. It's something we don't hear and learn about often, the coverage is usually focused on the championship, drama and drivers themselves, understandably of course, but this is a nice change of pace. P.S if Ya'll are new to F1 and you're already doing this well, this channel is gonna take off. As someone who just found this channel, its good to see more F1 content creators starting to come out the woodwork, really shows the sport is growing in popularity.
Stumbled onto this and I gotta say great job gents. Never heard of you guys or Mikey and I enjoyed the entire thing. Was surprised to hear you guys being newer fans. As a F1 fan watching races with my dad in my diapers, you guys I can tell you have definitely done your homework and ask great questions. It doesn't feel like some of these who are merely hopping on F1 because it's hot rn.
Really enjoy all the pods with mechanics and people behind the scenes, I think you are hitting a really interesting aspect of the sport with this that we didnt really see before. Would be really excited to see more of this. Might be even more exciting than some of the drivers because we already have a lot of media around them. Well done, really love the pod for all these interesting insights!
This is what F1 main stream media is missing, two lads who just chat about the sport and the people that make it happen. I would to see you guys get catering people on. As someone who runs pubs for a living I've always been interested in the scale of that operation. keep uo the great work lads
