I found Jubilost and Nenio hilarious to have around because as much as they annoyed me, they annoyed enemies way more. Nenio's dialogue with enemy encounters who get thoroughly confused by why she's trying to get them to take a survey when they're just trying to do their job and kill people is hilarious. I was also able to make both of them complete powerhouses on the battlefield, infinite grenade spam from Jubilost and Nenio actually making full use of all those scrolls that are sitting in my inventory normally doing nothing.
The NPC writing is top notch for today's standards! However, there is very tough competition when going back in time a bit to games like e.g. BG1&2, Torment, DA & Mass Effect series
jubilost was by far my favorite character in kingmaker, and i love how you can actually grow a lasting, sincere and true friendship with him, by the end of the game you really will be ride or die for each other in a very believable way i also love that despite talking about rules so much he is a chaotic neutral character now, characters that i love to hate is really hard, i can only think of koth from the sw old republic mmo, he is a good guy, but an incredibly misinformed one and i hate his guts and i love how you can end his story (specially the dark side one). there is a moment where he tells you to back off and points a gun to you, but if you are a force user you can give the best quote of the game "i can reach you from here" and start force choking him, My favorite part of the game, without a doubt. And he is a nice character, love having him around, specially on light side characters, but man, nothing beats ending him
"Well adventurer, what do you wish to do?" "Kick Ninio." "But Ninio is our friend, so wonderfully quirky! And a powerful wizard to boot!" "Don't care, kick Ninio."

Its remarkable, how over the last two or so years, your channel has become my go to for RPG reviews, while at the same time your taste for companions and plot devices in said games is the exact opposite to mine. I say this as a purely positive thing. For each their own.
I hated Sera at first. Then I started a new playthrough and really roleplayed my Inquisitor into a sort chaotic ultra mage loyalist. Sera somehow became my favorite character. Her revulsion to anything magical and elfy became a nice contrast to my pro mage inquisitor.
@@O-D-X Anders is an accelerationist and a coward. I hated him. He was such a selfish dick. He blows up the chantry to kick off the mage/templar war and then is like "killing all those innocent people who were actually sympathetic to mages was really totally necessary. But, you should kill me because I'm bad and deserve it. Please ignore the fact that this allows me to completely avoid seeing the aftermath of my decisions and I don't want to talk about how I was too much of a coward to go after the templars directly."
I recently finished kotor 2. I can't remember how many times I called Kreia an old crone because she always had something negative to say with my choices and I keep losing influence. She grew on me by the end tho.
just started wrath of the righteous and I relate so much to your experience with nenio. Going the demon path, it was nice to have a companion who didnt give a shit
I adore and love Nenio. She just brings such a strong and completely different feel to this otherwise grim/epic stroy. She is a gem! all of her dialogue makes me at least smirk. Buuut it would be nice of her to remember characters my name, before her story arc. Im also really glad that we got to teach her about friendship and all that jazz, with INSANE surveys and hilarious questions, especially towards bosses and other incredible "Persons". All in all 10/10 for me, one of the best companions in any CRPGs i've played.
What you didn't mention with Jubilost which I think is great about him is how much he develops and opens up across his companion quest, I found him grating at first and he ended up being my favourite character at the end of kingmaker, I actually adored how his story came to a close. Definitely more so than certain... Halfling outcomes. :|
Yennefer is one of my favorite characters. In the books she had an incredibly consistent track record of being very ride or die for her loved ones, namely Geralt and Ciri. And in the game that aspect of her personality often shone through as well, though it probably came off as just her being needlessly reckless. I love Nenio. I know that a lot of people consider her to be incredibly rude and annoying, but I personally find it very refreshing when a particular character has no interest in bowing and scraping before the protagonist just because they're the protagonist. Also her origin story is really cool, weird and unsettling. My only problem with her is that goddamn megadungeon and all those accursed puzzles, although the boss-fight was a banger.
I jumped through a lot of hoops with the way I built my party in kingmaker just so that I wouldn't feel like I was damaging my party's effectiveness by benching Nenio. I absolutely loved having Jubilost around though.
Sara from Dragon Age Inquisition. She's supposed to 'represent' the common people and yet is entirely unrelatable, thus destroying the reason for her existence existence. When I first played DAI I only kept her around 'cause I was hoping there was a chance to kill her. Sadly, DA hasn't let the player pick fights with and kill companions since Origins; yet another reason why it's the GOAT.
Great list. I love how this shows how different people can love or hate the same character, based on what appeals to them. Your choices are awesome, and I say that as someone who loves adventuring with Nenio and Tekahu. For me, I hate characters that are hostile towards the main character and do not want to be in the party. Baldur's Gate 3's Shadowheart, with her constant statements that she wants the main character to leave her alone, really pushes my buttons. I intensely dislike being forced to hang around someone who hates you and wants you to go away. But the many ways you could kill her in game are satisfying :)
I didn't hate Nenio (on the contrary, found her quite amusing) but I *did* despise her entire companion quest esp at the end. To the point where I doubt I'll ever do it again in replays - I'll just make a mercenary illusionist scroll savant type
@@SzymonSaysStuff Yen in the books was just having trouble choosing between men. Triss in Witcher 1 took advantage of Geralts amnesia fully knowing that Yen and Geralt were still a thing.
She is useful, is she not? I just let Internal handle that... situation. I'm trying to run a crusade here, i don't have time to deal with that kind of insanity undermining morale.
For my first playthrough I took Nenio everywhere. It was fun to see her random shenanigans the first couple of times. But ... Her character was just that: random shenanigans. Doesnt help that her only character development is at the end of a long and tedious quest with an awful final dungeon
Love Ninio and her approach on things as it often shows me a different perspective from my own. My number one character I love to hate would be Balthier from Final Fantasy 12. He has a great back story and is overall a very cool character but his quipping more often than not comes of as arrogance. Number two would be Alistair. He's a great character and friend but his insecurities are annoying.
Some of my favourite dialogue exchanges in Wrath of the Righteous are from having Regill and Nenio in the party at the same time. They have some great interactions both to events and with each other in camp dialogue
I found both Nenio and Jubilost to be endearing and actually funnily enough never hated either of them I actually enjoyed them and in Nenio's case fell in love with her because damn autistic video game character done correctly and as someone with Autism myself I found her very endering, not to mention hilarious, she is basically the Linzi of WOTR the companion that I would whole heartly marry and spend the rest of my life with but for reasons its not on option. (I'm still pissed at what happens to Linzi in Kingmaker that just made me rage quit the first time it happened because not only is she my favorite character in the game she also is my favorite and most used companion in the game every party comp I had included her in slot two next to my main character and I've found her exceptionally endearing. Point of all this we all have those characters we enjoy, the ones that hate flat out and would sooner kill them have around and the ones that we hate but keep around because they are just too damn good at what they do and I personally will let my pragmatism for best at job trump my character's personal ethics hence the reason Wendaug is always picked by me over Lann (Also I HATE him because not only is he shit at his role and a one-trick person he happens to embody every single character trait I HATE in gaming in one character) and the reason why Cam-Cam is in the same catagory as Nenio is for you Mortismal Gaming, I HATE her secret because damn it I hate the Aria trap BUT I refuse to fall into the trap and kill someone in cold blood or what I view as cold blood and she's just too good at her job that I cannot afford to replace her punishment for her for me is making her fight the demon tide at my side.
Andrew Ryan - Great villain but his philosophy haunts you throughout the whole game Johnny Silverhand - I've trusted him and he disappointed me. Great character but a dick Chloe Price - I hate her and really like simultaneously. She has hidden value in her but on the surface she's awful Theseus - I love to humiliate this narcissistic bastard Dettlaff - For forcing me to ruin Regis' life. Triss - She's cute and on a surface lovable but she betrayed Geralt, Ciri and Yen and she is more like those manipulative wizards even in third game.
Hey Mortismal! Have you ever considered playing the Borderlands franchise? I'd recommend 100% BL2 (best game in the series, in my opinion), and the main villain is probably the most likeable, hate-able character I have ever encountered in a game :D
First time I played Witcher 3 I romanced Trish because she was awesome, but after mid game and several Yennefer interactions I felt like shit because she grew on me a lot. Very good video, thank you so much. Hugs
Jubilost is one of the best companions in any game. His character arc is great and I love his sass. I do get why some people wouldnt enjoy him as much, he does have an overbearing personality. Edit: Also I should mention we have opposite choices for Witcher 3. I love to hate Triss. This mainly stems from how in her thirst for Geralt she never bothered to tell him about Yen when he had his memory loss and instead exploited it to the fullest.
Jubilost and Blitz are both my favourites companions in their games, Nenio I enjoyed the first time buy grates on me more the more I play. Kreia from KOTOR2 annoys me more than any other with her don't do too much for people talk, however after finally finishing that game last week I now understand her character better and would say she does the game justice even if she still annoys me.
Blitz' characterization and story are excellent. The problem is that it is very difficult to rationally choose to take him as a party member on any mission because, mechanically, he is really shitty as a netrunner/hacker. It is much better if the main character does all the hacking in this game because Blitz is just so bad at it. Fortunately, there are very few mandatory netrunning missions in the main storyline, so you can avoid this issue most of the time. But still, that means there is almost literally no reason to take him along on missions.
@@danboud8135 yeah exactly. As someone who's been in toxic relationships with narcissistic women in real life, breaking up with Yen in the game felt cathartic for sure.
Nenio is an interesting character - I never use her as my main character tends to cover the arcane caster role. I use toybox so I can get her reactions when she isn't in the party. It would be nice if she was a romance option, especially if you are playing a kitsune.
hot take: i cant stand minsc! There is a bunch of characters i find annoyingly winy: i cant stand woljif for instance, and i find all the characters in kingmaker uber annoying (with the notable exceptions of Jaethal and Kalikke). I dont like Xoti, for the same reason, although her quest is quite interesting. Btw, on a different note--thank you man for all the love and the content you put in your videos :)
I absolutely loved Nenio and always had her with me regardless of need just to hear what she said to all the insanely powerful enemies. Never found her annoying.
Durance from PoE. Sagawa from Yakuza 0. Luca Blight from Suikoden 2. Kefka from FF6. All the villains from Saints Row 2, basically - especially Dane Vogel. Handsome Jack from BL2.
The games don’t really get into this, but Triss has taken advantage of Geralt many times and particularly of his amnesia in the game. Triss knew that Geralt, before his amnesia, was romantically involved with Yen however she never tells him this. Now Geralt did consent to Triss’s advances, however she never told him that “Yo you were madly in love with Yennefer before you lost your memory so you might wanna consider that.”
Teheku definitely gets on my nerves because of his cockiness but at the same time, his heart is in the right place that I just end up loving him despite it. Although I am full Team Yennefer, but I kind have the books informing this and for my, Geralt and Yennefer belong to each other while Triss manipulated Geralt a lot…so yeah.
Ah one more intriguing Mortismal list. Sorry for the essay in advance. :D I'm glad somebody shares my opinion about Yennefer. I always found her a bit of an a hole and came off as rude to me on many of her dialogue yet that also made her feel realistic. Its refreshing to see a character being somewhat mean to your main character every now and then as it makes the game more believable since the world is not all sunshine and roses. Hence, Yen is a pretty good character. Triss has a much sweeter attitude but when you realize what she did and how she used and manipulated amnesiac Geralt back then into a romance, you might change your mind about her. I end up making my Geralt a lone wolf. To me, Geralt will be that sweet single dad whose only concern is to save his adopted daughter, take care of her and keep her safe and nothing else. The really annoying character I found in Witcher 3 though was Keira Metz mainly because of the forced romance with her once you help her with her quest. She insists and doesn't take no for an answer which felt a little bit rapey towards Geralt for me eventhough he kind of consented. I'm not sure if I should mention my own list. I think I might get hated by some for it because, my character criticisms tend to be rather controversial. Well there goes nothing: Some characters I love to hate are from Warcraft 3 Warcraft fans might probably hate me for that. Believe it or not, I got insulted once and was told to kill myself for criticizing one of those characters before on youtube. lol Those characters are namely Sylvanas, Tyrande and may be a little bit of Illidan. One is quite the hypocrite who loves to play victim while hurting innocents the same way she was hurt. The other is a corrupt official who acts off her own feelings and whims while manipulating the leader to support her bs by using his feelings for her. She technically killed wardens from her own people who were guarding a prison to free a traitor who would go rampant later and go on full terrorist then when the mistress of the wardens decides to chase after him, she went like "Oh I'm not into these vengeance stuff. I'll be sweet and merciful and forget" and tries to act all like the peaceful merciful matriarch. The third was the prisoner that was freed by Tyrande. I used to like him but as I grew up and analyzed the story, he's pretty much a terrorist who literally razed whole villages of his own people and also loves to play victim saying he was the one who was betrayed and that he's doing what he's doing for the greater good and that the means do not justify the end. Its a bit suspicious that in WoW they decided to give him a heroic role and death, tbh. Almost felt like they were glorifying a terrorist? But then again some media did this before like Naruto with Itachi who was portrayed as heroic while he was someone who practiced genocide on his own tribe to achieve peace and followed the extremist mindset of "the means do not justify the end". Thing is Illidan has a bit of a Sasuke case. Many of the fans like him for "he's so badass and cool and does cool stuff" and many of them tend to end up being biased and disregard howmuch bs the character actually does. I really despise hypocrisy so that's a big reason why I found the previous characters annoying which also hints that they're a good character design if they managed to annoy me. Another character I love to hate is Lightning from Final Fantasy 13 Fans of the game might also hate me for this.. lol Now, initially she has that Cloud Strife indifferent/cold character which I don't mind but what made me hate Lightning is when she pulled an Itachi on Hope who was a kid at the time and had just lost his mom. Instead of guiding Hope to forgive and be a better person and forgive as his mom would've wanted him to be, Lightning decides to point him towards revenge against the guy who was unintentionally responsible for his mom's death "Snow" because, Lightning herself had some hatred/anger towards Snow thinking his silliness and irresponsible attitude was also the reason for her losing her sister so she decides to make a kid her weapon to have revenge on him. To be fair, she later kind of regrets and wants to warn Snow but it was too late for her to save the situation and it was all up to Snow to remedy this problem now. I also hated how arrogantly she treated Sazh most of the game specially when you know the backstory of Sazh later. He was a kindhearted sweetheart, IMO. Now, none of these characters are "bad". I love them as character design actually but their personality itself is what I don't like about them which is a pointer to a neat character design, IMO if it inspires one's emotion towards them.
I actually found Jubilost a funny guy, not annoying. Also I realize what you said about Yen but I think she's a really compelling character, and direct. Sometimes too direct but its fine really lol The others (except blitz, haven't played that part of SRR yet) are just straight up annoying to me, either their associated quests or their character or both lol
Yup. I definitely chose Triss. By the way another example of one of these characters could be the well known Patches, maybe in a less involved way since the ones you mention are all from heavy story focused games but I think he fits the profile.
And I chose Yennifer in 3 out of 4 playthroughs. Personal taste is personal taste. IF you played the whole series, you know Triss is using you as much as Yenn, and in fact knew you were in love with Yenn, but when you lost your memory she tried to seduce you. Triss is just as manipulative to me as Yenn.
Ah, another person with a softspot for Blitz. As you say, yes he's a screwup, but he's such a loveable screwup it's hard to hate him that much for it. My top fave there is Dietrich, but Blitz is a second. With Jubilost, for me the reason I love him is not just that he challenges the player, but that he can both walk the walk and he's *right*. Not in a know-it-all sense (though he is like that too at times) but in the sense that he invariably says things that are completely accurate observations that genuinely need to be considered. He's kind of the worst sort of insufferable genius: The kind that you have to admit actually deserves to be that way.
As a game Fan who started with The Witcher 2 and hasn't read the books, Shani = Triss > Yennefer. After romancing Triss, Yennefer's introduction in TW3 frustrated me too much to ever really enjoy the relationship.
Yen is unironically one of the best female charachters in fantasy of all time especially considering she was written by sapkowski who writes most females as boobs walking on legs. Also Triss is just horrible no excuses on what she did to Geralt
i usually like your style and agree with your opinions, but triss is in no way the way to go and you're wrong :( edit: also i'm sad i missed jubilost in my kingmaker playthrough
I respect that, for me personally it was Camelia. I really love her character-class, her abilities, she is a good fighter and also can heal , but I hate what she is . This is why I take her often in my party, but I hate the way she thinks and reacts to situations. Nenio on the other hand just brings me laugh, this is why she is always in my party, same goes for Lann, those 2 can make the experience a little different. even in dark times.
I love Nenio, maybe it's because I tend not to take things personally unless somebody is straight up being rude to me but I never thought of her as rude. I didn't feel any maliciousness from her and just enjoyed the quirky personality, her comments and interruptions were funny during serious moments and I still Lol when she forgot she was drunk because of an experiment.
I actually found Jubilost to be the most reasonable out of all the companions in Kingmaker. All of them seem to be specifically designed to be terrible people or at least stupid and annoying. Jubilost is, on the contrary, all at once: 1) not evil 2) loyal 3) almost always correct whenever he offers advice. Octavia on the other hand I wanted to subject to extravagant modes of execution at least half a dozen times thoughout the game.
My personal preference... books > TeamYenn // games > TeamTriss // overall > TeamShani ^^ A few characters that I love to hate in games: - Handsome Jack and Claptrap - Borderlands - Cisero - TES: Skyrim - Abnur Tharn - Elder Scrolls Online
Mine has nothing to do with gaming but George Costanza from Seinfeld is my favorite character on TV. He s so petty. And I also think he's the funniest of the bunch
Red Prince in divinity original sin 2 would fit in this video nicely. Pompous noble with insanely inflated ego due to how important he is to world events according to a prophesy but at the same time that prophesy appears to be fairly true and in a way hes just as much the protagonist of his own story as the player is the protagonist of the main quest. Tempering his ego over the course of the game was pretty fun, top 3 companion for sure if not the best
Joker from Mass Effect - I liked Joker as a teenager but replaying Mass Effect last year I just found Joker’s snarkastic personality to grate on me to the point where I actually just ignore him. Conrad Verner from Mass Effect - I like him, he is Mass Effect’s Adoring Fan; but his willingness to join Alliance Military and the N7 Program are questionable. JD Fenix from Gears of War 4 - Whilst I think he redeems himself in Gears 5, the level of immaturity he portrays in Gears 4 is really frustrating especially seen as there’s quite a lot of situations in the game that would be a lot more dark if JD and Del were acting like adults instead of frat boys. Ultramarines from Warhammer 40K - The most annoying Chapter of Space Marines just due to their overwhelming popularity (being the poster boys of Space Marines who are already the poster boys of Warhammer 40K). Their actions range from awesome to cringe. Uruks from Shadow of War - They are the best enemies in gaming and it’s extremely cathartic when you actually kill them off after they have been tormenting you through a playthrough. Honestly I just love these guys because the Nemesis System is truly remarkable. The SA-X from Metroid Fusion - Again I like this enemy but for a long time I had nightmares about it because it’s invincible for 90% of the game and it’s just horrifying having to run away, even as you get stronger the SA-X is like Samus Aran’s bully. When you finally get to fight it and kill it, it’s the most cathartic experience.
IMO Jubilost was an "arrogant a-hole who's always right" done properly. He was an arrogant a-hole, but ultimately had everyone's best interest in sight (most of the time). Nenio was this type of character done terribly wrong. She's arrogant for no reason other than being extremely self-absorbed. Also, my character had a highter Intelligence score than her, so.
Yeah, Owlcat is really good at characters you love to hate. I actually like Jubilost. Bad 1st impression aside. Harrim, OTOH... and Nenio I've actually left standing in the alley before. I was a wizard, so no regrets. My Geralts have chosen Yenn twice and Triss once. Next playthrough is Triss. But really, the winner has to be Kreia. You know she's bad news from the start. You know she's manipulating everyone. She isn't even hiding it. And yet, she's not wrong about the old Jedi Order or the Republic. Not entirely right. Her diagnosis twisted by her own agenda. But she has her finger on why the Jedi failed.
Yen is a good pick, and she's even more annoying in the books. In the witcher I'd say Philippa takes the cake : a smart and incredibly powerful woman who is also one of the worst morally bankrupt person in the setting, and responsible for most of the terribleness in witcher 3 because she overestimated her capacities. Play witcher 2's elf path if you don't know what I'm talking about. Teheku is kinda the same as Gann the dreamer in Mask of the betrayer : arrogant, brash, flirty, hiding deep mommy issues... why yes, I'll never shut up about this underrated game
@@cmdr.jabozerstorer3968 Did I say I chose Yenn, just saying I didn't understand the Yenn hate and Triss love. That said, I do generally choose Yenn, but I also love Shani. Didn't have Blood and Wine on my first playthroughs.
I don't think I have characters that I "love to hate". I just have characters I like/enjoy, characters I don't like, and characters I have no feelings about at all
For me as I currently playing through Dragon age:Origins for the first time I am finding Morrigan...As she just keeps on being an rude for no reason. I find a lot of the dialogue from her funny and cool to see the interactions..But she just randomly just spouts rudeness about not helping even during main story quests where we of course have the time for.
She’s Chaotic Stupid. She’s constantly suggesting dumb shit that’s not going to help the party with their goals. She doesn’t think about the consequences of her actions. Unlike Sten, who’s similarly goal-directed to the point of unreason, she can’t be convinced by way of a couple of thwacks to the head! And yet, she grew on me!
@@gucciguy3408 Sadly the game is designed that way that NOT taking the Morrigan is a bad idea for she is the one who stuns the enemies. And fighting endless mobs is 90% of the game.
Biggest plot twist is Tekehu being in this list, but Daeran escaped. This man is Tekehu, but worst in every point. I love both, Daeran isn't my favorite WotR NPC because Ember exist.
#1 reason to hate Nenio is not her personality but the f***ing puzzles; her final quest is the most annoying thing in the whole game and you have to be masochistic to enjoy it imo.
Easy top pick from the last couple of years: Astarion in BG3. I haven't disliked a character so much in a loooong time. He'll be an insta-kill the moment I play the full game. I don't even want to know his "story".
Triss over Yennefer hands down. The way she is portrayed in the game, I would not trust that person to be the surrogate mother of my daughter, nor would I trust her as my partner.
Triss is best for the player, but Yennefer is best for Geralt. The choice between them is pretty much equivalent to whether you want to role-play as Geralt, or if you want Geralt to be a reflection of you.
I was never even slightly annoyed by Jubi or Nen. Ember on the other hand was infuriating to have in my party for WotR I can't stand her. Same thing for that halfling bard in Kingmaker. Also hated the dwarf he was driving me down with his constant negativity
I do not have that sort of characters usually when I don't like a character, I don't like that character and I don't want to have them around and in a lot of JRPG's, there is always one THE character that I NEVER use that character is completely benched, have no gear, no skills and I would kill that character myself with no hesitation and for SOME REASONS...that character is ALWAYS mandatiry for at least ONE BOSS FIGHT !!!!!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Nenio is the one character I never bother to put in my party. She isn't like the others on this list, where they are annoying but a good character. She is just annoying.
Idk what my 5 are, but I know kreia is #1. since the very early hours of kotor2 I want to call her out on her bullshit but they don’t let us have any dialogue options to do so until much later
“Nenio is both simultaneously hilarious and infuriating “. Yes that pretty much sums her up
I found Jubilost and Nenio hilarious to have around because as much as they annoyed me, they annoyed enemies way more. Nenio's dialogue with enemy encounters who get thoroughly confused by why she's trying to get them to take a survey when they're just trying to do their job and kill people is hilarious. Nenio's 'conversation' with Bahamut about cow genes justified her entire existence for me.
jubilost putting down willas gunderson is awesome

The NPC writing is top notch for today's standards! However, there is very tough competition when going back in time a bit to games like e.g. BG1&2, Torment, DA & Mass Effect series

All in all 10/10 for me, one of the best companions in any CRPGs i've played.
IIRC, if you get her "good" ending, she actually credits your character as co-autor which implies she managed to retain it at some point.
What you didn't mention with Jubilost which I think is great about him is how much he develops and opens up across his companion quest, I found him grating at first and he ended up being my favourite character at the end of kingmaker, I actually adored how his story came to a close. Definitely more so than certain... Halfling outcomes. :|
Kinda the same as tekehu, starts off as an asshat, but really actually grows
I love Jubilost, Is my favorite character from kingmaker, although I wanted to toss him on the river when I met him xD
Blitz was a fun part of the story. All the other games are on my to-play list. Mort from Planscape was really good imo.
"Heya, it's me Imoen!"
Vicar Max from The Outer Worlds
Morrigan (at least early on)
Jolee Bindo
Everybody's got to romance Nenio at least once.
Before watching the video I just gotta say, "Heya! It's me, Imoen!"
How dare you! Take that back :P
I chose the same option as you!
I didn't hate Nenio (on the contrary, found her quite amusing) but I *did* despise her entire companion quest esp at the end. To the point where I doubt I'll ever do it again in replays - I'll just make a mercenary illusionist scroll savant type
...and then there are characters that I just hate like Cam (WotR)
Also considering what Triss did in Witcher 1, Yen for me is the only real choice.
camelia best girl
Triss in Witcher 1 is based on Yennefer's character though, so that's yet another argument for choosing Triss lol
@@SzymonSaysStuff Yen in the books was just having trouble choosing between men. Triss in Witcher 1 took advantage of Geralts amnesia fully knowing that Yen and Geralt were still a thing.
@@SzymonSaysStuff Do you have any evidence for this?
She is useful, is she not?
I just let Internal handle that... situation. I'm trying to run a crusade here, i don't have time to deal with that kind of insanity undermining morale.
For my first playthrough I took Nenio everywhere. It was fun to see her random shenanigans the first couple of times. But ... Her character was just that: random shenanigans.
Doesnt help that her only character development is at the end of a long and tedious quest with an awful final dungeon
One thing that makes Blitz worth taking instead of being a Decker yourself is he can get a Fairlight Excalibur before they are available to purchase
Damn....You just made a video about my favorite characters with the wrong title! Thanks!
Also, Takehu is voiced by glorious Travis Willingham!
Andrew Ryan - Great villain but his philosophy haunts you throughout the whole game
Johnny Silverhand - I've trusted him and he disappointed me. Great character but a dick
Chloe Price - I hate her and really like simultaneously. She has hidden value in her but on the surface she's awful
Theseus - I love to humiliate this narcissistic bastard
Dettlaff - For forcing me to ruin Regis' life.
Triss - She's cute and on a surface lovable but she betrayed Geralt, Ciri and Yen and she is more like those manipulative wizards even in third game.
Hey. She even made a you special friendship list. Plus her dialog with Areelu and Lich guy are extra fun.
Hugs
I love Nenio. She's an absolute blast to listen to with her wacky shenanigans.
I love the idea of a video with this subject… well done
Not a title you have mentioned before, but, "LEEEOOONNN!!!" Onward to 200k. All glory to the algorithm.
Thank you for having the correct opinion on Yennefer. Breaking up with her was so satisfying lmao.
It's amazing how many boxes she ticks for being a toxic partner. Triss is hardly perfect but the better choice.
Damn, your reading of Yennefer is so in line with what I think haha
I never knew Nenio was supposed to be annoying, I always just found her hilarious!
I absolutely loved Nenio and always had her with me regardless of need just to hear what she said to all the insanely powerful enemies. Never found her annoying.
I hated her the momment i talked to her
Durance from PoE.
Not saying what Triss did was good, but to be fair none of his friends in the first game tell him about Yenn or Ciri.
I'm glad somebody shares my opinion about Yennefer.
Well there goes nothing:
Some characters I love to hate are from Warcraft 3
Warcraft fans might probably hate me for that.
Believe it or not, I got insulted once and was told to kill myself for criticizing one of those characters before on youtube. lol
Those characters are namely Sylvanas, Tyrande and may be a little bit of Illidan.
Another character I love to hate is Lightning from Final Fantasy 13
Fans of the game might also hate me for this.. lol
Now, initially she has that Cloud Strife indifferent/cold character which I don't mind but what made me hate Lightning is when she pulled an Itachi on Hope who was a kid at the time and had just lost his mom.
Sometimes too direct but its fine really lol
The others (except blitz, haven't played that part of SRR yet) are just straight up annoying to me, either their associated quests or their character or both lol
Tekehu is straight up my favorite PEII character.
Ekera, what say?
Nah man, team Yen all the way. At least for being Ciri's mom she's an amazing mom to Ciri. If we're talking romance though, it's Shani all the way!
Genuinely, did you read the books? Also yes, Yen is a pretty dang good mom.
Also, Team Shani, Triss is despicable as well.
Also Triss is just horrible no excuses on what she did to Geralt
i usually like your style and agree with your opinions, but triss is in no way the way to go and you're wrong :(
edit: also i'm sad i missed jubilost in my kingmaker playthrough
I feel like this is the first time you've mentioned a Kingmaker companion and of course it's in a list of characters that you don't like XD
the hell.. why i didn't get notif for this video, just stumbled upon it on my feed page when commuting
Nenio and Tekehu are easily my faves from both... so we are different.
If your read the witcher by the end you will be team yennifer.
Or if you played all 3 Witcher games. Triss is every bit as manipulative as Yenn, maybe even more.
I would say Morigan from DA origin.
And Sten... And Morrigan... And Lelianna... And Zevran... And Oghen... And Allistair... Doggo was cool.
@@38procentkrytyk And mama Wynne was aight
Nenio is worth keeping as a companion solely for her question to Baphomet alone. I spit out my beer when that went down.
My personal preference... books > TeamYenn // games > TeamTriss // overall > TeamShani ^^
A few characters that I love to hate in games:
- Handsome Jack and Claptrap - Borderlands
- Cisero - TES: Skyrim
- Abnur Tharn - Elder Scrolls Online
I love Tekehu! XDD and ofc having him and Aloth together XDDD
Mine has nothing to do with gaming but George Costanza from Seinfeld is my favorite character on TV. He s so petty. And I also think he's the funniest of the bunch
Always fun to hear your thoughts and opinions.
I thought the "asshole who's right" trope was played by Regill in WotR
I also love to hate jubilost. 😄 Great choice! And I'm curious for your wotr choice. Just started playing it.
Oh neat, a list of my favourite characters.
Well, not so much Blitz. And Tekehu was hit or miss.
Damn. Did not expect Yen first up. As a Team Yen for life I must respectfully disagree and say see ya later Triss.
Agree, I think people who choose Triss, probably haven't played the entire series. She is every bit as manipulative as Yenn.
I think this one is often along the lines of whether people read the books.
@@O-D-X Which is why you choose Shani in Blood and Wine.
@@cmdr.jabozerstorer3968 Did I say I chose Yenn, just saying I didn't understand the Yenn hate and Triss love. That said, I do generally choose Yenn, but I also love Shani. Didn't have Blood and Wine on my first playthroughs.
Next we coould have a "Top 5 characters we hate to love", Daeran would probably be #1 on that list.
I love to hate any characters my friends play. They never do what they're told, however they create some exciting situations/scenarios.
Just Morrigan? I hate everyone in that team but... Malbari and Wynne.
@@38procentkrytyk She is just so much of a loud mouth and i’ve mainly kept my team the same for awhile. Me,Alistair,Morrigan and Shale.
Clap Trap from Borderlands grates on me.
Vivienne in Dragon Age: Inquisition. She’s brilliantly written and voice-acted, and I absolutely loathed her.
I dont dislike nenio for her personality, I dislike her because her companion quest took to the literal jigsaw purgatory
Biggest plot twist is Tekehu being in this list, but Daeran escaped. This man is Tekehu, but worst in every point.
I love both, Daeran isn't my favorite WotR NPC because Ember exist.
Nenio's quest is my most despised companion quest in my entire existence.
Micah from Red Dead Redemption 2... I admire that they made me actually hate a character in media :')
Witcher fans: _Triss! No, Yen! No, Shani!_
Me, an intellectual: _Cynthia._
Little eye...
Nenio is hilarious. She also has Phantasmal Putrification and Wierd. 'Nuff said. She's in, end of.
We know that team triss is no. 1 but surely if it could have been in the game, everyone would have chosen Shanni😏
Triss over Yennefer hands down. The way she is portrayed in the game, I would not trust that person to be the surrogate mother of my daughter, nor would I trust her as my partner.
So, a party of these five in a 100hr prequel?
"Triss Merigold is the way to go." Indeed it is. I love Nenio though, can't agree on everything. Cheers!
Well, I don't know what to make of this video considering I end up romantically with Yen and Tekehu in every playthrough 😅
I do not have that sort of characters
usually when I don't like a character, I don't like that character and I don't want to have them around
and in a lot of JRPG's, there is always one
THE character that I NEVER use
that character is completely benched, have no gear, no skills and I would kill that character myself with no hesitation
and for SOME REASONS...that character is ALWAYS mandatiry for at least ONE BOSS FIGHT !!!!!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
You lost me in Triss Merigold is the way to go...
(I'm kidding, but not really)
Anyway, interesting concept for a video!
Jubilost is the worst tho..
