OG Anunoby open to leaving Knicks for...

  • Over 4 months ago, prior to the Pascal Siakam trade, prior to the Raptors losing their draft pick, I hypothesized that OG Anunoby may not be as enamoured with the Knicks as initially reported.
    Well, flash forward 4.5 months, and there are suddenly reports (via Jake Fischer who has been VERY right about OG related stuff) that Anunoby will consider options in free agency.
    Which options? Philly. Which other options? Home.

    OG getting more media coverage in 4 months than he's ever gotten in 7 years in Toronto. Love your idea Rob but aint happening.

      I'm 50/50 with wanting OG back in Tor, but if your idea is OG will want to stay with NYK because he can get more media attention.. I think you are misunderstanding OG. OG doesn't care or want media coverage.

    As much as I love OG as a Raptor, I'd be worried paying the amount he will be requesting and not to mention how injury prone OG is. I do like the idea of taking OG back just to piss off NYK fans.

      Let’s also not forgot OG is one of the best defenders in the league, and we need that. He would easily make our team instantly better. He would make Scotties life so much easier

      @@michaelpester532Does OG value being on a competitive team? Knicks fans love OG and really embraced him. OG introduced amazing chemistry with his Knicks teammates. Same concerns about his ability to stay healthy, but he’s an amazing player and NY loves him!!

      There's no way the Knicks traded for him without being very confident they can sign an extension. And if you're skeptical of that, well then there's the fact that OG's Agent just happens to be the SON of the current GM of the Knicks, Leon Rose. My money says they had some sort of tacit agreement in place about extending him a long time ago.

    Trading OG as a pawn to swipe IQ and RJ is so funny if this was Masai’s plan all along.

    • @medved4030
      @medved4030 28 дней назад

      If Masai gets back OG, this would cement him as a grandmaster playing 4D chess with them.... sacrificed a rook and got back a knight, a bishop and that same rook again. 😀

    • @Michael_Page
      @Michael_Page 27 дней назад

      Even if he doesn't get OG back. RJ is durable and a very good all around player. The Knicks thought they were getting off of a bad contract, but they were giving away a future All Star. IQ was considered the main asset the Knicks were giving up. Giving up an injury prone elite role player for two younger guys who will be excellent starters is a great deal.

  • @justinstewart8282
    @justinstewart8282 27 дней назад +2

    Frankly if OG is open to considering other teams in free agency then this is the first move the Raptors should be considering. If Scottie is your cornerstone, or even a cornerstone, then the franchise needs to make him happy. Bring back the friend he clearly missed on and off the court from the moment the OG trade was made. And if you're doing that, then the other move is at the draft. Do whatever you have to do to get the best player to fit with that pair in 2 years. That's likely Missi, but even Ware still works if they can get him to play hard enough. A lineup that includes Scottie, OG and Missi/Ware has plenty of defensive upside alongside IQ and RJ's potential offensive contribution.

    Only thing is though. Og probably wants to win a chip soon ‘possibly’ which knicks are a hell of a lot closer than the raps are to do so so. Would you take a smaller amount to maybe win sooner rather than later?

    Pelicans probably need a center next season. We can afford to wait a season or two to get ours.
