Here is how I cope with 2 under 2 + some top tips for parents with young kids. Having 2 children under 2 years old is challenging. It's been a big learning curve for us but we finally feel like things are getting a bit more manageable! ❤️
5 years on this video is still so informative and helpful. While I feel I am drowning caring for both my toddler and my newborn I am looking around for tips on how to remain sane while I do it.
My boys are 14mths apart and I cried the first night when we came home from the hospital. It’s hard but it will gets better. I love how they are so close now and they are the best friends. Wouldn’t do it any other way:)
am pregnant, and son is two... thank God I found this video.. am so scared thinking how am I going to work this out. My thoughts are exactly like hers. Asking for help seems to be a task for me..
My kids are about 21 months apart, it's a tricky thing to have kids so close in age. I found that when my son was around 26 months or so, things improved so much. His communication skills and independence seemed to develop so much. Plus the baby would sleep longer and have longer wake times. They are now 13 and 34 months. Days are still unpredictable, but much more manageable. Great video to help parents with multiple young children!
Great tips! My 3rd baby practically live in the baby carrier. He loved it. And it helped me get so much done around the house and with my two older ones. He is 2 yrs old now and I still wear him from time to time!! Good luck with those those two beautiful kids. Your doing such a great job.
So glad you posted this! I'm a solo parent most of the time and our families are hundreds of miles away too. I find bedtime incredibly stressful at the moment and I dread it every day. Hopefully once Alice is in a routine it'll get easier, but you are my inspiration knowing that in time it's more manageable. You're an amazing mum! Xx
Scary the minute you come home from the hospital and the first night, so much you need to adjust too. Thank goodness my husband was hope for the first few weeks, otherwise I don't think I could have coped mentally and physically.
I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old and they are both very needy babies which is alot for me because my first 2 before them which are 8 and 10 were nothing like them they were very independent calm babies and my last 2 are complete opposite so its a learning process, its extremely hard i get no Me Time its alot but i love them and i wouldn’t be able to live without!❤😢😂
Thank you for this video. I'm pregnant with my second and my first will be about the same age as yours when my second is born. This has me feeling a lot more confident that I can handle it. I think accepting help will be the hardest for me honestly.
My baby is four months. I went to the doctors office for IUD birth control and was told I'm pregnant. Can you please pray for my family. Me and my boyfriend are new parents and I can't imagine how hard my future is going to be. 2 babies under 2 is a blessing so please pray for me.
I have a 1 year old boy and a baby girl on the way. They will be 15 months apart. I encourage sleep training with your toddler a few months before baby is born. I started sleep training my son when he was 10 months in his portable crib. He fought me for the 1st and 2nd night, but afterward he did great. He now can sleep almost all night waking up once or twice. His bed is still in my room, so I can attend to his needs at night. I also weaned him off my breasts at 10 months, due to being pregnant. The transition wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. My milk supply was lessening and he didn't like that much, so he moved on pretty quickly. Lol I also encourage you to get as much done before baby is born. I've been in some intense spring cleaning mode, so my home is being organized and sorted to make accessing things much easier for me. I have 2 older children as well, so they are a HUGE help for me when I need them to watch their baby brother. Big families require more order since it can get pretty chaotic rather fast. If you need to pay for helpers if you don't have family to help you, don't feel bad for doing so. They have laundry services, delivery for groceries and other items, and so much more available now, so take advantage of other ways to get what you need. Thank you for sharing these helpful tips with us Ysis. I look forward to seeing my little baby girl soon! ❤
I’ve been FREAKING myself out but this video has helped me feel like there’s hope. 🙏🏽 we just found out we are expecting and Luna is barley turning 1 on Saturday! 😱
Just came across this video as I have a 16 month old and I'm 33 weeks pregnant. Great tips and I'll be following most if not all of these tips. Thank you x
Great tips. I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old and I know how u feel it is not easy we just take each day as it comes. Some days are good and some days are bad. I find having pre prepared snacks ready so pots of chopped fruit or anything that your toddler likes so when I breast feed my toddler can sit down and have a snack too this usually keeps her quiet for a bit and I'm lucky that my baby is a quick feeder so doesn't take longer than 10 minutes. Also all sitting down on the sofa and reading some books while I feed the baby. I wish my toddler would sit in a high chair she is now refusing to get in one. Meal times are very difficult with a lot of her walking around while eating 🙈
My son just turned 2 & my daughter is 4 month’s. Im a stay at home mom while everyone works morning shifts. . I finally got my kids on a schedule so they both nap about 2 hours together 🙌🏻 buying a swing saved me.. my baby falls asleep on it while I lay down with my toddler so he can fall asleep 😴
About meal and bed time..I think if you know that you are having a second baby you need to teach your toddler to feed himself before your new baby arrives. Bed time..my daughter just goes to bed and no need for a routine.. I read her books during the day. It's up to parents how they choose it to be. I'm not trying to judge anyone! That's my philosophy and I feel it makes my life easier
I cried today because my toddler (I currently have 2 under 2) is watching so much TV. We barely watched TV befire now its my saving grace at times when I am nursing. I feel so guilty.
@@liddybet my baby hasn't been sick yet thankfully, I started excercising to cope with the stress and I have so much more energy. I know going to excercise when you are dead tired seems counter intuitive but it really helps change youre perspective and the way you tackle the daily challenges it brings. My toddler still watches TV but I only let her watch Peppa Pig and Dora. She has gotten really bored of Peppa Pig and I am hoping she gets bored of Dora than I can cut it off again slowly. Also I got her a little baby doll so when she I do diaper changes and nurse etc. She does the same with her baby it becomes a lot of fun. Dont feel guilty TV is not that bad as long as you still plan for structured activity with your toddler and make sure you know what she is watching. Because some of these cartoons teach kids really bad behaviour....
I really enjoyed your video, very helpful and practical advice with examples. I loved the way you spelled out how you bath them both on your own. Sometimes you need that step by step example to picture how it will work in your head. Thank you so much. ❤️
You know you're struggling when you're googling how to cope with 2 under 2- I had a pretty good laugh with your first tip.. lower your expectation :) you are not wrong!
We have sooo much in common ! Nice knowing I'm not alone and another mum is doing and experiencing similar things. GOOD JOB. I have 2 boys . one 16 months old and the baby 2 months old some days the routines work and other days I'm taking deep breaths lol my 16 months old also rely on me to put him to sleep so at times I have to be cradling both sleepy babies . And yes I 've been doing the baby wear but will not tell hubby lol
Thank you ysis! I was so happy to see this video pop up! Second baby due in 5 days and my lg will be 17 months!! Found this video so helpful, thank you! (Also on a side note I love the way your videos are edited!) xx
Also...everyone says my little girl is the spitting image of her daddy! Been hearing that for the last 17 months and only now is she starting to look like me a little! Don't know if we're having a boy or girl this time, so it's exciting to see who they come out looking like! You have beautiful children! Xx
Great video, thanks for posting this, so helpful i have a 1 year old at the moment, and am currently 11 weeks pregnant with baby number 2, and im excited for the future but the sleeping and the entertaining both is daunting, but with having videos like this makes me realise, its ok to do / not do certain stuff, like for me i feel like a tramp or a bad housewife if i dont clean up etc, but having the reassurance is good . thank you xxx
My due date is 2nd of may 2019 and my daughter is 11 months turning 1 the coming month on the 7th. so 5 days after my due date she’ll be a year and 1 month 😂🤦🏼♂️
Please I am a single mother, only 21 years old I have a 17 month old daughter and a son due in November. I have no support system and I need a little faith that someone is in my position and can enlighten my spirits.. I need someone to tell me it is possible ...
Hi Michaela, I'm in your situation and 4000 miles away from family and friends. We are going to do it, we have to, but it's important we find a network of support x
Not every one has help. I have a 15 month old and will have a new born via c section in 2 months and my husband will be home for a month after baby is here and that’s all the help I will have until he goes back to work. Not everyone has family to help
James and Isabella are so lovely and cute😍 a tip : if you can invite a mum friend and have the kids have a play date she can look after them and play with them while you do something and you can still talk to each other while you are working it will make work less stressful ☺by the way I'm only 14😂😅
Yes!! This works wonders!! And its great to have people to talk to during long stretches of watching the kids. Especially in the winter when its too cold or rainy to go to the park
Hey been a follower for a couple months now but just wondering how you pronounce your name. Also love your videos. I'm due my second son is 6 weeks and my first son has just turned 2 a couple of weeks ago. xx
Currently have 2 2-and-under. And am 25w pregnant, so I'll have the fun of 3 3-and-under. Partner is moving out (Works at a hospital and isn't sustainable with the pandemic!). We survived the 2 2-and-under. Wonder how much harder 3 will be. My youngest was crawling from 4 months, talking from 9 and walking from 10. Luckily they both LOVE to help me out and find chores fun! There is a 19m age gap between each child. Baby carriers were always very helpful. I could do a lot of things without having to stop because the youngest was always on me, playing on her tummy or asleep in her bed. The first 2 or so months were nightmarish all the same. 😂
?? What’s not polite is to judge someone changing their baby when out at a restaurant...we’re all human aren’t we? As long as it’s not on your table as your eating..🙄
I started training my son at 1 year to fall asleep buy himself. I would let him cry for about 5 minutes then go in and give cuddles and soft words and repeat until he sleeps. It's great. He's almost 4 now and gets excited for bed

Me too. 2 under 2.
This is video has reassured me that things will be okay when my second baby arrives. Thankyou !! 😊
My daughter will be 14 months when my second is born! Im so scared!

Robin Barker omg I am on the same boat right now 😩😩😩😩 my son is turning 2 in 15 days and I am 6 weeks pregnant
Your smart. Im here because 3 weeks ago, i became a mom of 2 under 2 and didnt really anticipate how hard it would be lol

Preparation and realistic expectations are really key.
The struggles you mentioned are so spot on what I go through but it got easier as then went on and my little one stopped napping so much.
