  • In summer, lots of people head to the north of Kyoto City, Kibune, to escape from the unforgiving summer heat. And one of the best ways to enjoy Kibune is to eat leisurely by the river or famously called "Kawadoko" or "Summer Floor" Dining.
    Various restaurants lay out wooden decks above the river where diners can sit tatami-style while enjoying traditional Japanese dishes. You can choose from a simple menu to a multi-course Kaiseki Cuisine. Now, whichever you picked, you'll surely have an unforgettable and unique dining experience in Kibune.
    So, if you come to Kyoto in summer, don't forget to spare some time and head up north and enjoy the sound of flowing water while filling yourself up.

    It's a beautiful place with a very nice atmosphere. It's nice to be able to eat in a cool place during the hot season. The food looks delicious too. It is a scene unique to Kyoto with its history. This is the first time I've seen a video of an actual meal in a place like this. It was refreshing and soothing. 👍🌺👏

    Wow that meal and setting was awesome, I’m extremely jealous!! Are you going to be visiting Seattle this spring? We have a lot of excellent restaurants here, what style cuisine would you like to try, I will take you and Rob out, my treat??

    just wondering, how long did it take you to eat all of the dishes? I'm planning on doing this experience but with the plan I'm going with, it's going to be a dinner experience and I'm afraid of it being too late and it getting dark outside. Transportation is slim around night time around that area.

    What time and day did you go?
    Review say log. Wait and not worth it.
    Did you have a private lunch booking?

      Hi, it was on a weekday. We had an early dinner. Reservation is necessary to be sure you'll be seated soon. But lunch is definitely cheaper. When it comes to food, it depends on the individual's palate. Japanese dishes have more natural and lighter taste which might not suit some foreigners' preference. Personally, I highly recommend it🤗

    Thank you for the video! Did you request no meat or was it naturally served that way?

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. Oh, all came with the menu. Usually, kaiseki cuisine is tailored to seasonal ingredients. But lots of restaurants these days cater to their guest's preferences. Hope you can come and get to try kaiseki someday.

    How much was the meal,per person? Thanks

      @wandereatchill  Год назад +1

      Hi, it actually depends. It can be as cheap as $40 for a bento style meal or as pricey as $150 for a course meal. Totally depends on your meal of choice. You do need to make reservations for at least 2 people. Enjoy your Kibune dining experience!
