Very nice Pete, and thanks for the work on the American :-) I think these vids are really interesting to those in the locksport community, so I hope you keep making them
Thanks, I'm here to please. I used the kit to sort your American, lots of fun to be had. Locks arrived today, really great, also sent you an email. Thanks again.
Great timing on this vid. I just ordered an Abus/American/Master rekey kit. The little tips, such as which pin length spools work best on, are why I watch your videos.
I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to rekeying locks. I've only worked on Schlage and have a decent collection of those size pins. So Abus/American/Master all use the same size pins?
Brilliant! My whole adult life my brothers and I always had a shed and in most cases literally, it was actually a “man cave” or smoking room so I relate to your channel name lol good luck
Thanks for the sub, and glad you liked the video. It's not really a challenge lock, it has standard bitting (that's a factory bitted key) and standard American pins, the American locks can come with a mixture of pins. The only real difference with this one is having the spools or serrated pins matched to the bitting.
Pete, I was wondering how to decode American lock keys on the master lock part of the 5 in 1 lab key gauge? It has 9 key heights to on the master section to decode and the normal master lock only has 8 key heights I believe, so do we deduct or add numbers to get the American key depth when using the lab 5 in 1 key gauge?
Thanks for sharing! This is helpful.

Thanks, my pleasure, hope you enjoy them, I've got a few more planned, watch this space.
Enjoyed that one Pete. Nice pinning kit as well. You could have lots of fun with that kit. Thanks.

Very good rekeying video, was a pleasure to watch Pete :). You are really fast with the follower and know what you do. Lock Noob will be happy too :).
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

Just subscribed Pete. Nice demo of how to pin these. Would you call that a challenge lock, even though it doesn't have hand made pins?
Thanks for the sub, and glad you liked the video.

very nice video, having rekeyed these 100s of times, I would probably have more swearing if I did a tutorial :P
Thanks, appreciate the comments, and know what you mean :-)
Great well explained video. Thanks
Thanks, really appreciate the feedback.
Thanks Pete!
You forgot to put the bypass wafer on the core. Make sure if this lock is going to be used for security it has a wafer in it.
Now that is a repining kit...
Nice video. I'm sure some people will find it useful
Thanks, hopefully they will.

Nice setup you have there. I guess you really do like American locks. Is it just the padlocks or do you like rim cylinders too?
I'm into the padlocks, but never tried an American Rim Cylinder, if you come across any, stick my name on one :-)
I haven't tried 1 yet either but there on Ebay pretty cheap sometimes, so that settles it, lol. I'll have 1 set aside for you.
Just bought 5 I'll set 2 aside
Thanks, that's great, looking forward to them, just hope they're as much fun as the padlocks :-)
wow, thank you that was very interesting
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
nice vid, was the pinning tray from the USA and was it expensive?
Thanks, it was from the US, about $25, the shipping is the worst bit.
