I find the graphics in vengeance have not aged well at all especially with other PS2 games looking way better. Also the combat was better in arkham origins vengeance was pretty stiff with the combat. In arkham origins you don't need to cuff enemies one thing that sucked about vengeance was the fact that you needed to cuff enemies after taking them down otherwise you needed to fight them again, that is unbelievably annoying this was the same problem with Dark tomorrow. I was fine with webbing enemies after taking them down in ultimate spider-man cause it wasn't hard to do at all. It's tough to cuff enemies in vengeance when your surrounded by other enemies who are punching you and you can run out of cuffs to that is just stupid. Batman Begins
That film has pretty much killed any hopes of another Bruce Wayne Batman origin story for being pretty much flawless and starting a beloved trilogy and leading into one of the best loved films of all time in The Dark Knight
The reason this is my favourite above The Dark Knight is simply because it is somewhat light and fun compared to it's sequels, making for easy viewing to pass away an evening in a more relaxed manner

BrokenGod Ent. The gameplay is only good when you actually play as Batman himself, but 60% of the gameplay is in the tank. the tank stuff is fucking awful, they made this giant open world full of beautiful buildings to climb and glide onto, but then stick you in a giant bumper car and fight drones. They even made the riddler stuff over reliant on the bat mobile, (giant race tracks? wtf!)If the direction of the game was different, and focused more on the core gameplay elements of its predecessors it would have undeniably been the best game in the series. But instead we got a tank/car game disguised as a Batman game that has piss poor writing, lazy “plot twists”, no real boss battles, made by a studio that would rather be making any other game then a Batman game. It kind of sucked honestly

I will actually contest the placement of Batman Forever on the SNES. While the Fighting Game commands for special tools took getting use to for people who don't play those games, they were indeed special attacks meant to help you nuke bosses and you and your friend needed to pick 2 that fit the stages needs. It was also fun to play with a friend in the same way all those other "friend tester" games like Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers and New Super Mario Bros are like. But that's not the end of its charm though. First, there is a code to enter that givers infinite uses of all your special items if you want to go ham but more importantly there is an actual fighting game hidden in the Training mode where you and a friend pick between EVERY CHARACTER IN THE GAME, most highly unique in their moves sets and attack options making it one of the largest rostered fighting games ever made with access to their special moves in MK style glory.

I don’t understand the hate on Arkham Origins. His stated reasons don’t explain why it is the “black sheep of Arkham games”. The game play is the same and it has arguably the best story. They did an excellent job focusing the origins of the relationship between Batman and the Joker from both character’s perspectives. Also, this is the best portrayal of Bane I’ve ever seen in a video game with his transformation from being a physically intimidating presence that is also super intelligent to his slide into a drugged out mindless monster. 1-3 on this list should be Asylum, City, and Origins in any order. Asylum started it all. City opened the game up to a more open world (much more than Asylum). And Origins was the best story. Knight is 4 because while the Batmobile was a cool addition, the game play with it got tedious. No other Batman games deserve to be ranked above any of them.

    • @Great_Scott_
      @Great_Scott_ 5 лет назад +1

Arkham City has serious objective flaws. I'm beyond tired of people heaping so much undeserved praise on the most relatively disappointing video game sequel since God of War 2.
It expanded the core gameplay from AA well in most ways. However, the implementation of armored enemies in combat and predator was a goofy and artificial way to try to make players use automatic/loud takedowns. The titans of Arkham Asylum were simple yet viscerally satisfying enemies to fight. But in AC you just perma-stun them and mash square while Batman's head and shoulders embarrassingly clip into him. Not all proper boss fights were winners, either. Grundy was a pseudo boss fight puzzle reminiscent of the lamest parts of God of War 2, and the actual one-on-one part of the fight with Ra's was a wholly inferior version of the battle with Poison Ivy in AA. By far the shortest campaign of the four main games. Everything involving Catwoman was mediocre at best and came in strange intervals.
But that absolutely horrendous story is what cripples it. The writing is like sub-par fan-fiction (if I ever read fan-fiction). Overtly nonsensical plot holes, laughably contrived events and cringe-inducingly juvenile dialogue throughout. This is the norm, not the exception. It's thematically bankrupt as it pretends to be epic and profound with (admittedly) stirring music. Look, every Arkham game has some contrivances, but they're nowhere near as bad nor as widespread as in AC. Just about every aspect of the main story can be meticulously pulled apart. It's not in any way comparable to Dini's fantastic contributions to Batman: The Animated Series and its feature films. This is not the Mask of the Phantasm of gaming. I have to say that some of the side missions like Zsasz's phone calls were actually much, much better written.
Some of the major plot twists were embarrassingly self-spoiled. We could see that there was a healthy-looking Joker that gassed Batman, the real Joker coughing as he's filming Clayface Joker, and we could see Clayface Joker facing the mirror and seeing the sick Joker. I don't know how any person could be surprised by the end reveal (attempted one, anyway).
I will say that the challenge mode would've been easily the best of the series, but the absolutely scummy practice of carving out DLC character and challenge maps that could've been on the disc on day one, then selling them back to gamers. Each of the four main Arkham games are guilty of this to some degree, but City is absolutely the worst offender.
To top it all off, we had to stare at a purple-caped Batman for the entire game the first time through (there is a cheat code to use alternate skins, but that wasn't known until months after the game released).
As a game, I definitely prefer Arkham City over Arkham Origins. But the Arkham City I played is nowhere near deserving the praise it gets. I honestly thought I had a spoof copy of the game after the first time I played it.

@@Great_Scott_ I agree with a great deal of that.
The Open World, expanded to a full neighborhood of Gotham, feels far more hollow and false than the grounds of Arkham in the first game.
This is a problem that plagues so many open world/city simulator games: far too them feel 10 miles wide and an inch deep as regards NPC interaction and gameplay repetition.
That's one of the reasons I remain so impressed with GTAIV and GTAV: they're large maps that also feel distinctly alive, if that makes sense.
Arkham City doesn't really accomplish that; and the criminal NPCs are, criminally, lacking in variation. The idea of a Prison City -- ala Escape From NY and No Man's Land -- sounds far more interesting and deranged than what this game actually provides.

Origins COULD have been incredible if it only showed us how Batman came to become as awesome as he is, with a younger more careless Bruce. Like he's still trying to figure out what "batman" should be like. Maybe his gadgets are primitive and he has to resort to more "realistic" ways of solving complicated situations. But instead they just went with the "NO, HE'S ALWAYS BEEN AWESOOOOOOOOME" story.

I never wanted to play Arkham Knight because of the Joker cremation scene. Scared the shit outta me.
