I wanted to say rest in peace, Akira Toriyama. There really aren’t any words I can think of to describe the pain this loss has brought to not just me, but millions of people around the world. Toriyama was such an amazingly creative person who really did create something unique and special with Dragon Ball. I can only imagine how he must have felt knowing he created the most popular anime and manga of all time and it’s amazing how he was able to create such a unique story all the way back in 1984 and have it still be so unbelievably popular all these years later. And it’s especially saddening given how this is technically the 40th anniversary of the entire Dragon Ball franchise overall. And it’s incredible how he helped inspire so many other anime and manga creators like Eiichiro Oda with One Piece, Masashi Kishimoto with Naruto, Tite Kubo with Bleach and so, so, so many more. Another tragic part to all this is that we’ve lost so many amazing manga artists these last few years like Kentaro Miura and Kazuki Takahashi and now we’ve lost the most well known of them all. I really do need to thank Toriyama for everything he’s done with creating this franchise and these amazing characters like Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and so many others. I only got into Dragon Ball back in 2017 and I can say I understand why it’s as gigantically popular as it is with so many amazing and iconic moments. It’s also amazing how this franchise seems very simplistic compared to other mangas and yet it’s still hailed as amazing all these years later. It’ll be tragic to watch Dragon Ball Daima this year knowing it’s the last thing he ever worked on. Overall, I just want to say, thank you for everything Akira Toriyama and rest in peace.
That collection is awesome. I’ve been collecting mangas for six years, and even much, much longer because I started getting them for the first time in 2011 when a friend gave me a Naruto manga. As far as my collection now, I have all of Naruto, all the current volumes of Boruto, all of Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, all the current omnibuses of One Piece, a few volumes of Bleach, all of Yu Yu Hakusho, all the currently made volumes of Hunter x Hunter, every single Yu-Gi-Oh! volume as well as all the spin-off mangas of it, I’m working on finishing Rurouni Kenshin, I have all the current ones for My Hero Academia, the two volumes of Barrage, all the current volumes of One-Punch Man, all of Dr. Stone, Food Wars, Assassination Classroom, Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland, some of Jujutsu Kaisen, Slam Dunk, Haikyu, D.Gray-Man, Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family, Kaiju No. 8, Shaman King, Toriko, Gintama, Blue Exorcist, Undead Unluck, all of the current volumes of Black Clover, all of Death Note, the first volumes of all the JoJo parts so far, some of Inuyasha and Yashahime, some of Black Lagoon, all of Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins, some of Vagabond as well as all the Colossal Editions of Attack On Titan and all the Deluxe Editions of Berserk. I’m hoping to get a box set for Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: Re. A good amount of these were hard to get since some weren’t sold where I am, I had to order some series from America like Yu Yu Hakusho, Shaman King, Toriko and Gintama. I like to have all my Shonen Jump mangas together and I personally prefer getting omnibus versions of manga so a lot of the ones I listed are in 3 in 1 omnibus editions. I wish a lot more had omnibuses, but I’m still super happy with my collection and can’t wait to get more. I also have a ton of different anime character collectibles from series like Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Bleach, Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter, My Hero Academia and many others.
I’m a big hardcover fan as well. Love when there’s an option for them. And thanks for sharing how Akira Toriyama touched your life. That was nice to hear!
Great haul. Found your channel from your Manga Collection video. Love the vibe and effort you put towards your videos. Im gonna stick around for sure.👍
Akira Toriyama's real legacy, making me aware of short haired girls. (Android 18) I kid, of course. Always had to be Vegeta, never was a question for me. I'm a big fan of My Dress Up Darling. I blindly bought the first volume shortly after it came out, and thought it was alright. I decided to re-read it and it just sort of clicked for me. Love the series now, and the growth of the characters and supporting cast. As for the romance manga..... I've mentioned I don't mind age-gap subjects. It's fiction, and all I crave is a good story. However, I also desire conflict and doubt. I can read one without those aspects, but they definitely add something to the primal feel of a story.
Hi! True about it all being fiction and the story mattering much more. For the manga "Kiss Me At the Stroke of Midnight", there's still external conflicts that drive the story since the male love interest is a celebrity/idol/actor and shouldn't be seen dating a highschooler, so the couple have plenty to deal with story-wise and also with doubts of "is this worth it if the safety/reputation of the female mc is in jeapordy?" but they don't let things stop them from being together. They talk through it with each other, which I love. I just don't personally enjoy (in stories in general) when character's feelings are repressed for the sake of there being drama/story or "will-they-wont-they" the entire time. I want to see the relationship start sooner (realistically, but still earlier in the manga) and grow along with the characters and not just have their love confession and/or first kiss be the conclusion of a series (especially a long series). I want more substance than that! lol And Vegeta's a favorite of mine too. Him and Bulma! hehe I should have mentioned him in the video as a fave, but I just got so absorbed in my gushing as it was lol Anyways, always great to hear from you!
Hi, i just found your channel and subscribed :) Have you read Witch Hat Atelier, Call the Name of the Night, Flying Witch, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, In the Name of Mermaid Princess or Natsume's Book of Friends? Those are my favorite manga series ♥
Thanks so much! I’m really interested in Witch Hat Atelier so I’ll probably dive into that one soon. And I have the Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind manga and love that one! Thanks for the other recommendations 😄
Real shame that Akira Toriyama has left us but man what a legacy and impact he had on everyone. Once again, loved the video
