Hey Julia, I was just viewing a recent video on investing 'myths' about doing RE deals in Mexico... and added the following comment, after this video: "What NOT to do when buying REAL ESTATE IN MEXICO" (Does this sound reasonably, "accurate?" "My understanding is that the terms "lawyer" and "attorney" are not interchangeable, and the creation of the "attorney" profession was specifically to do, real estate law. (At least during the 1700s, or earlier... in the US.) And one can set- up say an LLC in Wyoming very inexpensively ($100- 150 U$D) to acquire property(ies) in a Land Trust, in the US... so I would presume they are doing much the same, in Mexico? (Or at least in some areas, as I hear it's "less formal" in many areas than in say Queretaro, or Merida, etc. (i.e. The 'rules' also vary by state, much like in the US, etc.) You also want to "spread any liability" and NEVER put a property or more under your own name, or the "charging order protections" (and "anonymity") are degraded, and lost. Also, the "notary" there operates similarly to a "title company" in the US... so either work directly with a RE attorney(ies)... or have one or more, on staff, in house?" ATB 🙂WST
As far as the entire process of purchasing Real Estate in Mexico, I think to explain that would take many many more of my videos. And I would first have to do a significant amount of research also. Purchasing Real Estate in Mexico within 50 Miles (I think) of coastlines and borders has to be done through a Mexican Trust as no foreigners are directly allowed to own them. More inland it is not a problem.There are English-Speaking Real Estate attorneys and lawyers who specialize helping people get properties in Mexico and can explain this much better than I can. But timeshares are a whole other animal, I never owned any, nor do I plan on purchasing any. I just noticed a few differences in the presentations and sales tactics which I though were worth mentioning...maybe it helps someone?
@@JuliaMSpencer Hey Jewel, do you know what the short to longer "capital gains" taxation is structured like in Mexico, yet? And since I do mainly "creative terms" as a REI, and seldom risk my own capital (nor 'guarantee' the loan(s) any longer, prior to the next 'correction') I want to work towards tying- up the control of many properties (vs. a few, or less) with say 1- 5% (from the buyer, or partner(s) down, vs. say 10- 100%, then sublet for lease, STR, or LO, SF, etc. The main thing to determine next... is how well this 'concept' will ultimately work in the higher demand areas... such as the popular 'coastal' enclaves expats frequent, and invest in? I still haven't located a (REI, vs. agent) friendly RE attorney there, but I'm almost certain the same methodology will indeed work about the same, down south... or most anywhere else... once the proper (REI, vs. agent biased) 'contacts are made, and then utilized. ;-)
Nice video been their a few times thru my friend sad to say everytime we go they get him to buy More and he falls into their trap I too got a cheap deal for another resort for $299 5 nuts stay but unfortunately I didn't go cause didn't want to sit and be pressured but glad you took advantage of their deal
Again, some people just want to get to the finish line, others enjoy the experience instead of quick results. I can see which category you fall into. If you don't mind me asking, why do you watch my videos? Can't you just skip them and instead read somewhere online the one sentence you want to hear? Sounds like you already know it all...

I just spent a week at this resort with some great friends who are members. I went through the breakfast sales pitch and asked a lot of questions of our friends. Your assessment is spot on. The food and service are both at a level I have seldom experienced. Definitely 5 star.
