Therapist Reacts to Custer - Slipknot
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 янв 2024
- Therapist analyzes the lyrics of Slipknot's Custer to discuss how people often fight to destroy the things that they don't understand about themselves and the world. The song is a call to understand before blindly fighting. Because once understanding has been achieved the goal of the fight often changes. The song is a call to embrace the originality and uniqueness that people often fight to destroy in themselves and others.

Frrr
I’ve fallen asleep to them so many times
i agree
Same brother , i have MDD along with anger issues (due to Quiet BPD symptoms) , so i love listening to Slipknot so i can just get out all my pent up anger and frustration 🤟🏻
This is the type of therapist that I need
Your Videos are very cool
👍
Real
Agreed
The pure joy on your face is why I love metal.
Fr my friends question how I know listen to some things because of dark subject matter but I'm just jamming out to hard to care and metal can be eye opening about the bad, hard, and downright terrifying parts of life
And how people fall in these traps
You HAVE to do Disasterpiece and People = Shit next. They're both some of their heaviest songs ever
I think if she did "Scissors" or "Iowa" it may break her 😅
Skin ticket as well.. my absolute favourite song by them
This!
The live London 2002 show
Ppl = shit ......... tell me
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T PAUSE IT EVERY 5 SECONDS YET ALSO GIVES THE BEST RESPONSE AND MOST GENUINE RESPONSE EVER I LOVE THIS PLSSSSSS 😭😭

I don't speak English, but seeing this girl for the first time, listening to Slipknot, saying things I didn't even realize in the song, gives me 100 years of life.
Yo
This song was Grammy nominee in 2016 but lost to Cirice by Ghost
I thought they lost to tenacious d? And clown lost his shit because they lost!

Me too.... for many years. It's always there for you.

It’s been my therapeutic release these past 3.5 years.
metal allows for you to really get all that anger and sadness out that has been piling up

Last year I listened to Custer and Nero Forte as soon as I woke up for about four months straight.
Certainly gets your blood flowing for the day right away.
Finally some nero forte love, it’s definitely my favourite slipknot song
Ive listened to Nero forte for the past 6 months now and I gotta say definitely my fav 😊
Nero Forte needs so much more love, that's my favorite of all of their songs (Surfacing is right behind it)
Glad you’re back, homie
I love Custer so much. Happy to see you just enjoy. It's in my top 10 head bangers songs.
Iowa and this this album are heavy asf
Tell me other songs from your top list brudda?
@@Ares1972vov Good F***ing music, Lift Me Up, and another would be Die Mf Die.
At such moments you realize that heavy metal has more meaning than modern songs about love and struggles in life...
MASTERPIECE
as a fan, i love that you're not reacting to slipknot like "ew, this is straight up agression and violence" and actually liking it!!
I genuinely recommend their song Eyeless. I personally find it to be the heaviest song they have written. Lyrically and instrumenally, it moves me to my core.
the heaviest is certainly disasterpiece, but eyeless is close :)
Eyless was the first song i ever heard when i was about 12 yrs old😅😂
Metal music is my therapy
I believe this song is named Custer because, much like a certain General, Corey Taylor is choosing to die on his hill fighting a losing fight. A lot of Corey's writing centers around his rage towards the evils and ignorances of modern society, with a bitter sarcastic view on his own ability to do anything about it. He actually wrote an entire book on the subject, titled "Stop Making Me Hate You." Very fun read.
I can't even begin to explain how I accidentally came across THIS video! It was in Google's various news reports area of my device. Anyway, I didn't know what to expect after reading the title. But then IMMEDIATELY after opening it and then you started going to TOWN JAMMING OUT to Slipknot! I was FLOORED! A therapist's reaction to Slipknot? Really?! No way! Then you broke it down in such an eloquent way! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Makes perfect sense! Thank you for wowing me, and being what and who you are, with the unbiased visions you have about things that are SO absolutely amazing to me as a Human Being! Because I resonate literally!
i had a stroke reading this white woman comment
Do "Sulfur" one of me favourites 🤟
"Me Inside" also bangin
"The Blister Exists"
"The Nameless"
"Spit it out"
Too many bangers to list 😂
She has reacted to Sulfur I believe
@Gay_cloudsnaww!!! i wish i was you
If you want some uplifting lyrics in metal, I suggest listening to Hatebreed. For example, "I Will Be Heard". Love your reactions!!
Fuck yeah
Hell yes! Scars is my favorite.
I will be heard is amazing, one of my favourite songs. Perserverance too
Looking down the barrel of today
This is exactly what I was thinking as well. Her reaction to “Hatebreed” would be awesome.
Stick To Your Guns “Married To The Noise” would be another good one.
I love your reactions 🤘 .. Slipknot is life 🫡
i expected her to be very concerned! love that she was vibin to it! 🤟❤🔥😂
7:30 you finally understand! This song is some peoples therapy! Great Reaction, Thank You!
I absolutely love your videos! You really do an amazing job of analyzing the lyrics and your exciting energetic connection to the music is also a reason I love your videos, they're refreshing to say the least. Thank you!
The pure joy and excitement was so surprising
As being a Slipknot fan from day one all I can say is thank you!!!
😂❤ in the first 20 seconds. I can see that Adrenalin kick in. I wonder if we all feel that same way. I know I do. I wouldn't be able to remain seated.
I love that you're into this and seem to be enjoying not only disecting the lyrics, but also, obviously enjoying the music. They are pretty bada** live. Seen them a handful of times. 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Not the same without Joey though
I literally haven’t listened to this song in prolly 3 years seen the title to this video and I literally remember this song word for word LOVE slipknot
Really loved the breakdown. Going through a rough patch at home and your interpretation of the lyrics helps me understand better. Thank you

I always love your reactions you do such a good job with what the songs mean to you. Even if they mean something different to me i can always count on you having an intelligent response.
Thanks and keep up the great job
This is a great song. I would love to see Corey's reaction to your commentary.
I LOVED what you said. It almost sounded like you were saying others will MIRROR back to us those parts we need to work on for US. Then after work we will also love those things about US. Wow your reaction was beautiful to the song!!!! G⭐☘️🤙❤️
You're awesome. That's all needed to be said.. thank you
Didn’t expect such profound insights here. Great job, thanks!
So cool! Seeing a therapist enjoying this. \m/ keep fighting
The way she actually enjoys this song is crazy🥹
This is great! I absolutely LOVE slipknot and as someone working towards my masters in psych I just had to see this 😂 consider me subscribed! I love your reactions and energy!
So cool, thanks for your time. It’s been great to hear your interpretation.
You can be my therapist any day of the damn week this was awesome!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
2:48 I'm so glad you expanded on what Corey says, and you went into more depth. I couldn't agree more, I'm so glad I found your channel. Took me a long time to recognize how common this in life, the exact points you are making. I went through this in h.s., but it's very similar beyond school in a rural area, it can be a struggle in a small town or rural area if it is like this. When I was a little kid I delivered newspapers to the bar twice a day, and I'd see the 50 year old alky at the bar all day, every day, and I clearly said that won't be me, theres no point in living beyond today if that's my future. 3:24 The part you said here, I would have had to kill off the parts of me I liked, and become an alcoholic as a 14 year old freshman to fit in and I'm not joking. I've heard people for years on the radio even say this, small towns, rural area, that's what you do, drink beer, there's nothing else to do, and it's not uncommon to start in 9th grade. I didn't see it that way. I always worked in some capacity from a young age, multiple ways long before 9th grade. Even in my 20s, 30s, 40s, to the people I work with, drinking beer is the most popular topic to discuss , or activity outside of work. I'll drink a Michelob, but it's not my whole life. (seth g. ability to connect with people)
My favorite Slipknot song. And i love seeing someone else love it, understand it and feel it 🤘
You are so fun. I can't help, but to smile watching you react to these songs.
The sheer joy in her eyes in the opening riff😂
I'm just discovered you and your amazing....huge metal head here.....seeing you jam makes me happy that therapists can actually understand how metal is such amazing thing.
Do Solway Firth next!
I subbed because of YOU. You remind me SO much of my therapist who speaks to me incredibly well after searching for the right one for over a decade. I haven't stopped watching your videos since last night. Thanks for doing these.

Slipknot has been my favorite since 96 when I was six and helps with my depression
My son was listening to slipknot from day one lol. He was born in 2000. And I listened to slipknot regularly. Now he is a massive fan too lol. I did ok I think
@caramelwaferGD Wait- are you 6yrs old or did you start listening to them at 6😭
this popped up on my feed and in a few minutes you came closer to helping me than anyone else has in years of therapy. I don't want to discuss my feelings ad nausem, I want help to build the methods I can use.
Hi, new sub here. Really enjoy your perspective and analysis within the metal genre, it's refreshing to see from your point of view.
May you and your community continue to grow 🤘🏼🤘🏼

I just love your interpretations of the slipknot songs and what they can mean from a theropist's view. I would absolutely recommend you give the song Orphan from of the album We Are Not Your Kind.
This song is an actual therapy
Such a great video!
Slipknot was so ahead of its time. Kids are still like this today, hating independent thinkers out of jealousy.
This song is so amazing live. I feel it was made with a live setting in mind, perfect for crowd interaction
back in high school, I liked Slipknot cause I was (and still) a metalhead and all I thought was the lyrics was about anger towards society but watching your videos as an adult now makes me appreciate Slipknot songs more and see it in a new perspective.
I don't listen to much metal anymore but slipknot and five finger death punch have literally saved me from myself so many times what a lot of people fail to understand about heavy metal music is that these bands these lyrics say things we wish we could say but can't and it helps us knowing other people know how we feel and know how to put our feelings into words
ffdp is not metal and Slipknot hasn't really been metal in years. I don't think you know what metal is.
@user-kn1uj2tp6r yes I do also I don't think you've heard ffdp especially they're early stuff slipknot has always been a metal band if you think metal has to be like death metal then your incorrect metal has a vast range of different styles nu metal thrash death punk there's a millions of different kinds there's bands that just make pig noises so yes I do know what metal is I may not listen to the same bands or kind of metal you do but I know what metal is
@Realalbertcrowley I'm not into gay music, why would I listen to ffdp. I'm also not going to sit here and read the rest of your essay, this ain't college.
@user what is considered gay music?

Dead memories also excellent so many kikazz songs..❤slipknot &gotta say this psych is starting to grow on me...❤
How can you NOT head bang to this song, ya know? That chorus is going to be stuck in my head for days. Funny you should say that THIS is how you imagined Slipknot always sounding like because this is exactly how they used to sound in the first two albums (Self titled and IOWA) but after IOWA's release; while they were on tour, Corey messed up his vocal chords to the point where he had to switch out how he sung. It turns out that although there is a safe and healthy way to use your false vocal chords (to get that gravelly growling sound), Corey was flat out yelling his head off for the previous two and a half years. After that they always had Shawn and Chris (percussionists, not drums) do back up/ supplemental vocals for Corey and as a result they had to switch up their sound quite a bit. By the way that was Corey's first of several throat and neck surgeries that followed. He has so much scar tissue in that area that he looks like he is all neck and funny enough, his nickname is "the neck".
everything you said here was either untrue or misleading .. first of all he didn't have to have surgery cause of ''shredding his vocals " he had to have emergency spinal surgery due to a broken neck injury ..stop re-posting this garbage ass lie .. im not even a fan of this band i know this is false .. a quick google search will prove this ..
I loved your reaction when the music started😆
I'm 9yrs old and I was listening to this song since I was 2
my favorite Slipknot song
When I was a teenager, I struggled with FOMO(fear of missing out) and not being included. Got to the point of just no longer caring what others thought or if I was included or not. Found my peace in solitude and focused on important things, not social bs.
I love this please do the bleeding or white knuckles🙏and also keep doing these videos they are amazing and you react so well thats it.
Thank you for your videos. Now i understand everything they sing about thanks to you. I've being listening them for 18 years or something and as ESL/musician i mostly enjoyed music but now they mean more for me. Also if somebody needs therapy, that's me. I'm from ukrainian and i`m in Crimea now...

You gotta do something from their first 2 albums REAL Slipknot stuff like "eyeless"
This and Devil in I was my daughter’s favorite two songs when The Grey Chapter dropped after Paul’s death. She was 4 🤘🏽
You should see them live!!
I really love Slipknot and some other metal bands. Not sure why, but her reaction videos almost makes me cry several times (in her reaction to "hey daddy" from korn, I actually cried more than once hahaha)
Check out Distasterpiece from Slipknot. To say the least, it's a wild ride. Another good one to watch is Asylum by The Black Dahlia Murder.
Bro is vibing
gave me chills :D
PS your vibin joy when that drum hit - you’re a metalhead. Welcome to fold 🖤
Metal is the only therapy I have access to. Unfortunately, therapy is beyond my budget. But thankfully, metal is free. 🤘💀🤘
Snuff live on coreys hated tour will blow your mind and all out life oh my god the meaning is insane and live the message Corey gives the maggotsnat the end.
All I know is this song is amazing live
would love to see you react to mudvayne, hatebreed, falling in reverse, skillet, rise against, papa roach, three days grace, five finger death punch, disturbed, and stone sour(corey taylor's other band)
As a therapist in training, Slipknot is my favorite band of all time
My dad was in the airforce in the 2000s and he listend to slipknot while on deployment
This is what's different about Metal. Back in the day in 9th grade, I was already a Metal head that was self taught. Immediately I found friends that loved the same music as me and I just fit into that scene and it was great and some of them have been my best friends for life. This is the metal brotherhood, and it is real \,,/
Now i understand why i am in love with this song its because i have been gaslight about going to school and my boss feels threated by me when its not his job i want its to better my self and be better for the customers (and do the job at home with a cnc).
Live love slipknot
I love that she loves this music
I like to imagine one day I make an apointment with a therapist and he/she tells me: hey listen to this slipknot music...
