Bildge pumps are also good to use for this system. They also run on 12 volt DC power, so DON'T require an inverter. A reasonable quality pump will also come with an enclosed float switch, which negates the risk of float getting "stuck" in the up position. Also the flow rates are okay for drip systems. The con is they are harder to integrate into a "timer" situation, can be done but no way near as simple.

The pressure of water coming out of the pump is the biggest factor for how long the pipework could be (and this does relate to the power of the pump and therefore the requirements of the inverter and battery). For my polytunnel, the pump copes easily. I haven't costed everything, but a ballpark is about the cost of a lawnmower :)

Add a check valve to the end of the anti siphon tube so it wont let water out but will allow air in to break the siphon.
Have you tried the Blumat systems they are amazing, I’ve been using them for years inside and outside even on my gorilla grows. Love the content butty
