    From its beginnings under the protection of Miguel Quirós and debuting at the age of twelve with the Joven Orquesta de Andalusia, to become the winner in two occasions of the ECHO prize; Ramón Ortega has gained the reputation typical of one of the great performers of his Generation in the delicate oboe field.
    Now we welcome him at the Liceu Conservatory on his first visit to the Liceu Cambra season.
    A key step in his career was when Daniel Barenboim accepted him as a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra; It was then that Gregor Witt, the main oboe of the Berliner Staatskapelle, also conducted by Barenboim, became his great mentor. Then, he began a constant concert career that has run parallel to his numerous awards and prizes, among which the first prize in the ARD Music Competition of Munich in 2007.
    She has performed in chamber groups with Elena Bashkirov, Kit Armstrong, Mitsuko Uchida, Janine Jansen, Guy Braunstein and Tabea Zimmermann, bringing the inimitable timbre of his instrument to the stages of the whole world.
    Since spring 2008, he's Principal Oboe at Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mariss Jansons, and working with renowned directors such as Riccardo Muti, Herbert Blomstedt, John Eliot Gardiner, Daniel Harding and Bernhard Haitink.
