I think he led her to believe he was with her all the way probably even holding hands to jump together. When he let go at the last minute she realized he was using her to save himself as she drown. Leaving her crushed, broken, heart broke, and unable to process in the last minutes of her life. He moved on with no ties.

Wow! What a moron that judge was, granting him bail after he was convicted of murder. Complete flight risk. Great video!

      @Jack209 4 года назад

MmkaySure They put up literally all the family assets as bail, and since Adam was thought to be a person close to his family, they thought he wouldn’t make them lose it. His family became penniless after this.

You mentioned that the wife pointed to the car and said that was the one that hit us, which led Adam to chase that car. Maybe she felt guilty that she had pointed out the wrong car, or he guilted her over having pointed to the wrong car, and her jumping so that he could escape was some sick agreed-upon “penance”.

his behavior at the store in response to how much money everything was was extremely sketchy, why would you care about money if you were going to commit suicide in a few hours?

I’ll bet he is still alive too. He probably “made a pact” with his wife to end their lives, but when the time came for them to jump, she did and he didn’t. I doubt he ever intended to commit suicide, and used her death as a cover up for him to flee. Just my opinion though! ☺️

I think that people need a little more clearing up on the case. Adam did not "murder" Jason Bass in a fit of rage. Adam actually had flagged down a driver who he believed had hit his car. Adam ran up to the window and was reasonably very pissed off. The other driver was confused, because he didn't know who this man was. Adam was trying to talk to the driver, and Jason was afraid, so he backed up his car. Adam wrongfully believed that this guy had hit his car, and thought he was trying to run him over, so he killed him. Now, I'm not saying that Adam acted correctly, I just think he shouldn't have been charged with second degree murder. A voluntary manslaughter charge would have been more appropriate. Adam acted incorrectly, but it was in the heat of the moment. Therefore, it should have been a voluntary manslaughter charge, which carries a 5-10 year prison term usually. This also explains why he was let out on bail. Everyone expected this to be a manslaughter charge, which is far less serious than a manslaughter charge. So after Adam was taken to the police station after the incident, he was let out on bail, because it was expected to go to trial as manslaughter, not murder. Now, he was let out on bail after the trial because he hadn't been formally sentenced yet, so he wasn't put in any prison or booked anywhere. At the same time, he already had homes and money put up as bail. So, the judge found it far more simple to let him out on bail, which was already in place for him, than get him booked in a temporary prison and get all the paperwork done, only to be moved in a month. Also, It's 100% false that he's alive. His wife and him were madly in love at the time, and he wouldn't go as far as to convince her to die so he could go on the run. It was a lovers' suicide.
Do I think Adam Emery was guilty of Second Degree Murder? No, not at all, he was not a killer, and had no intention to kill this guy, not even 30 seconds before it happened. He killed in the heat of the moment when he believed his life was in danger, even though it was an incorrect belief.
Do I think Adam Emery was innocent? No. Not at all either. Adam Emery was certainly not innocent. He did take a life. However, I think it was an honest mistake, or rather a series of them. If someone drives away after hitting your car, they're a criminal. If you think a criminal is trying to run you over, you'll act in self defense. The fact that these beliefs are incorrect is what makes this a manslaughter case, but Adam was certainly not a murderer.
You have to see Adam's perspective. Hope this helped you see it.

Adam is dead. I knew his family who stated that he and his wife were so much in love that they did not want to go through life without each other if he was going to be in prison which they were told could have been up to 40 years.
I was also told the reason he stabbed the victim, was only to stop him from driving the car in reverse because he thought he was going to fall from the car and subsequently have the car run over him. His intentions were not meant to kill the victim. As far as Adam having a knife, his wife found it in the glove compartment of their car and told him to take it with him because she was afraid he could have been in danger when going to the victim's vehicle.
The whole situation is tragic, and all because a car was damaged. Adam would not have let his wife jump from the bridge and then take off. He jumped with her. Only parts of her body were found. Where is the rest of her remains? Which would make perfect sense why Adam's remains were never found. The Newport Bridge is approximately 250 feet high, and the currents in the water below are extremely strong. Their bodies could have easily been taken out to see.

I think he should have been convicted of manslaughter, not murder. Yes, he wasn't innocent, but it wasn't murder. It was more like imperfect self defense. He wrongfully believed he was in danger. This partially excuses his actions. I think he should have gotten a manslaughter charge and gotten like 5-10 years in prison. He acted in extreme heat of the moment, which is exactly what Voluntary Manslaughter is.

You can't initiate a confrontation with a deadly weapon, then claim self-defense when the other person responds. Go see the Ahmad Arbury case for recent case law.

He took off. He looked kinda psyched when they read the verdict(pupils enlarged...); he's also a maniac (tho, maybe wasn't Always). He's wiley... and it seems like his woman a)suggested they follow the car + b)it was HER plan for the suicide ... Maybe he's had enough of her... He's also QUITE good-looking; many people who're good-looking + sociopathic, probably have narcissism, which would be enough of an encouragement for self-preservation. :) :)

Maybe the reason he seemed concerned about the price of the 'suicide kit' because he contemplated making a run for it at the last minute. Keep in mind, only Elena's skull was found; the rest of her and all of her spouse can still be floating around the bottom of the bay. Plus, Mr. Emery doesn't seem like the kind who had the resources to vanish without a trace and start a new life elsewhere.

He was definitely sociopathic, his face just says it all - and his wife Elena in my eyes, was just as bad - allowing her husband to chase after those kids and pointing out this innocent group of guys - and saying it was them.

I think they planned on making it look like a suicide.1.) They made sure they were seen on bridge earlier 2.) Weights so Mgr can confirm bought 3.) I think they parked 2nd car near bridge, once no cars were in sight he hit her and threw her off, he ran to the other car. During trial she kept cash in house so if guilty they could flee. Reason he pushed her over, he was mad that she instigated chase, gave him knife.

He probably had a psychotic break. Maybe an onset of schizophrenia? He’s around the age that it could’ve started. If he didn’t die, I wonder why Eliana’s remains where found? I mean she ended up in the water, but was it a suicide or murder?

Adam Emery was innocent, anyone who believes otherwise is misinformed. Adam chased down a car, wanting to confront the driver, and the driver began attempting to run him over. What would you do? Adam went to the car, reasonably angry, and Jason attempted to run him over. He 100% killed Jason in self defense. Adam was offered a plea bargain, but he truly felt he did nothing wrong. Yes i think Adam is dead, but he and his wife died innocent and heart broken. They basically got their life stolen from them, a very successful and promising future stolen from them.
