@@d3rinnnWhen it comes to studying vocabulary for the SAT, I found a few things really helpful. First, I used vocabulary books and flashcards to learn new words. I also made sure to study a little bit every day and create a schedule to stay consistent. Understanding root words, prefixes, and suffixes was really useful too. Instead of just memorizing word lists, I practiced in context by reading articles and passages. Finally, I made sure to review and reinforce the words I learned regularly. Hope these tips help! Good luck friend!
@@goldajohn3666 Hey John ! We’ll surely I’ll share my tactics ! Well we all humans differentiate according to our grasping power . Mine was more compared to the competition around me , so usually I would contribute 4-5 hours a day, but you can also minimize it upto 10-20 hours per week which will yield a good result as well ! Remember, you yourself know what are your capabilities and limits, and success strikes in when you start pushing those limits and barriers which yields to a prosperous life !
Also regarding how I scored a 800/800 in English , that’s cause my first language is English and my mom was a teacher in her youthful years in London so she always gave me the aspiration to be super fluent in English as this is the most important language the whole universe ! The only prospect I focused on before the exams was to open my sophomore, high school, and senior high school grammar textbooks to be perfect to understand the complex passages asap during the exam . To tell you the truth, I didn’t have the intention of giving SAT but gave it as my Girlfriend wanted me to meet her in Korea to be together , so I just studied the bare minimum , and yeah ?! That’s it ! You’ll get what you want ! Anyways ATB for your SAT !

My goal is to score between 1200-1300 since that is a satisfactory score for me ( I’d be over the moon if I ever scored over 1400 ) however so far I’ve only ever been getting 1100 on the practice exams. I cannot physically grasp how some people can score within the 1500 range, I’ve been studying the best that I can but I’m not even pushing 1200 on the mock exams yet. At this point I’ve just accepted that I’m not academically competent but I’m gonna keep trying. My exam is in less than a week.
You all have such good scores :( I recently got my results back and scored a 870.... safe to say I cried very much and now I'm determined to do better and make my family proud :)
I have it march 1st. its gonna be my first official sat and hopefully my last. I am currently at around a 1200 give or take. Ill let yall know what I got after I get my, score back ill be studying more.
I’m gonna be a senior this year and i didn’t study for it my Junior year due to mental health and simply not taking it that seriously cuz people were telling me colleges don’t check the SAT scores anymore.. anywho i’m retaking it this year, so wish me luck and the best of luck to everyone else taking it!!!!
My problem is with the literature passages, the math section is very easy, and the science and history passages make sense, since they are factual and use data or historical/evidence. The problem with the literature Passages is that they are not factual, they cut an excerpt of a random book and give you questions, I know there is only one possible answer, but often I don't understand what it is talking about (even by using the line reference questions). What is the best way to approach the literature passage?
I would reccos talking to an English/literature teacher about that issue. For now, try to get a (free) copy of any chapter fiction book that has summaries availability online (e.g 1984 by George Orwell). Read the first chapter, write down a summary of what you read, and compare that to the online summary Hopefully this can help improve your comprehension of the literature sections
I second M Bot! I bought the SAT and ACT Black Book by Barrett and it helped A TON. He breaks down the structure of both tests, explains how to target and evaluate each section, and then has lengthy answer explanations of old SAT/ACT questions. Using only his Black Book for the SAT (and for like, 4 days of intense studying), I was able to make an over 100 point increase. If you’re able to study by sitting down and committing to reading a lot of stuff (either for a long time or very frequently), I highly recommend purchasing his book.
for me it’s the opposite, i get most questions right on literature, but questions wrong with factual reading and i don’t understand the math at all, i get so jealous when people say it’s easy
In my experience the best way to get better at writing and reading tests is to just read more. reading a lot of books outside of school, especially those that challenge you but are still interesting, kind of makes you naturally better at understanding writing and makes you subconsciously remember rules. it's a lot better than trying to memorize a lot of rules by themselves, but if you only have a bit of time that may be the only way.
I have like less than two months to prepare but I have no motivation. Last time I took it was several months ago and I got a 1040 after study for 3 weeks 😭 I really really need motivation because I don’t want to keep procrastinating.
Can I ask how old u are because I’m 15 currently and am thinking of taking them at the end of year 11 when I’m 16 (I’m from the uk) and I’m not sure how old I’m supposed to be to take them
hi! i prepared for around 2-3 months before taking my test. i would say hitting your goal score in 2 months is definitely doable if you're able to dedicate enough time to prepping or are used to taking standardized tests.
@@joyzou I highly think that it also depends of ones before level , I mean yours was decent so you succeeded , if I am now at around 1100 or 1200 how long would it take to make it 1500+
On my PSAT, I got 1390/1440, do you believe this could transfer at all on the SAT? How wide is the gap in difficulty from the questions in your (or anyone who's taken the SAT) opinion?
From my personal experience, the PSAT and SAT are pretty identical in difficulty. I would still say that you should continue to study and review as your SAT approaches. On my PSAT I got an 1150 and a 1270 on my SAT without any studying (I am taking my actual SAT for college soon). Continue to study and use Khan Academy for practice and you should get a great grade with ease :)
I am an international student and you might be aware of the new digital pattern of the SAT. I want to prepare for the new English section of the SAT with one question per passage and I need your help for that. Can you please upload a 15 Day SAT Digital English prep. Thanks!
There was another young Asian woman with amazing scores on her ACT tests who said she did not get into Stanford because of the essay portion of the application tests. I believe much of the essay portion of the entrance exams relies on "general background knowledge". Whether you subscribe to this or not, no one can deny that a lot of weight is put on an applicant's general background knowledge. Maybe Asians should mention Ghandhi, and Mao Tse Tung in their essays, as well as maybe the excessive bombing campaign of the U.S. during the Vietnam War.
I have a question, for practice tests mainly math are they all following the same concept as the actual sat meaning you learn how to solve a problem on the practice test right will how you solve that problem will be the same way you solve it on the SAT?
hey idk if you'll read this or if anyone will read this, but maybe I can get a reply. I have just been struggling a lot with school and just life in general and I have not been able to get into the mindset of dedicating myself to studying (or anything tbh). I took the SAT and I got a 1390. I thought that was it. The average is 1510 at my school (yes you read that right). I took it again a few months later with no studying just to get a benchmark. I got a 1490. I think my mindset just improved a bit. Now, I've been on the fence about retaking because I did poorly on the math (730), which is the easiest section imo. But I just don't think I'm there yet to where I can dedicate myself to do the studying. Should I retake? Will forcing myself to study help me to learn discipline?
I'm preparing for SAT now and will be very appreciative if you recommend me some study books you used during your preparation. May be Baron's, Kaplan or Princeton Review. Who's better?
Hey i have a question acutally i can't afford to study abroad so can i get admission at your university if i scored high in sat? I mean will i get scholarship?
What do you recommend for international students. English is not taught at my school. I recently got 1310 with EWBRW 620. How can I improve my Language section?
This is the first video i watched after planning to give SAT. It's so helpful Thank you so much!! Im an asian and I use the Casio 991ESplus calculator. I just have a question that what calculator will be better for SAT ?
After my high-school, I suddenly thought of studying abroad and did my ielts. Now i am planning to go for SAT but the problem is that I haven't done any Maths for the past 2 years.
i have a question!! the thing i’m struggling with the most is timing, on my psat i literally only got through half of the questions in each section. U said to take practice tests a lot to help, but where can i take practice tests? most of the online ones costs money and idk if i can spend that much every week lol
hi! great question. collegeboard has 8 free practice SAT tests on their website! i left a link to them in this video's description box under "general" in the extra resources section. also, sometimes local libraries will have test prep books with additional practice tests available for check out.
@@rafiarana472 I strongly recommend Khan academy. They have problems for every topic, I did not take any practice tests until I mastered every topic. I only took one practice test and got a 1520 on my SAT. And I was only doing 25-30 minutes a day for 3 weeks. I would not have mastered the SAT if I had not done Khan Academy's reading comprehension questions. Cannot recommend them more!
Something that could also help is tactics, I was told don’t read the whole passages or for the math portion start in the the middle (example: A.)1 B.)2 C.)3 D.4 E.)7) start with the C and see if you need to go higher or lower. There’s a lot more “tactics” I can tell you about:)

I'm going to start implementing them into my study sessions so hopefully I do end up getting the score I want :)

how did you study vocabulary
@@d3rinnnWhen it comes to studying vocabulary for the SAT, I found a few things really helpful. First, I used vocabulary books and flashcards to learn new words. I also made sure to study a little bit every day and create a schedule to stay consistent. Understanding root words, prefixes, and suffixes was really useful too. Instead of just memorizing word lists, I practiced in context by reading articles and passages. Finally, I made sure to review and reinforce the words I learned regularly. Hope these tips help! Good luck friend!
Hello! Please do you mind sharing your study schedule? And how were you able to get 800 in the English section. Thank you.
Anyways ATB for your SAT !
tysmm!! im doing igcse’s but my dad suddenly said i had to take SATs by the end of the year so i was COMPLETELY unprepared. thank you for letting me know about the testing dates especially!
im not looking forward to this year 😭 6 igcses, 2 a levels and now the sats :((
Thank you I'm going to apply these strategies over the next month 🙌🏾🙌🏾
My goal is to score between 1200-1300 since that is a satisfactory score for me ( I’d be over the moon if I ever scored over 1400 ) however so far I’ve only ever been getting 1100 on the practice exams. I cannot physically grasp how some people can score within the 1500 range, I’ve been studying the best that I can but I’m not even pushing 1200 on the mock exams yet. At this point I’ve just accepted that I’m not academically competent but I’m gonna keep trying. My exam is in less than a week.

Hey how much did u get
You all have such good scores :(
I recently got my results back and scored a 870.... safe to say I cried very much and now I'm determined to do better and make my family proud :)

That's a great video with lot of good tips. Thanks for sharing all that info and guidance.
Read the first chapter, write down a summary of what you read, and compare that to the online summary
Hopefully this can help improve your comprehension of the literature sections
Read the black book by michael Barrett! It might help. I’m reading it now :)
In my experience the best way to get better at writing and reading tests is to just read more. reading a lot of books outside of school, especially those that challenge you but are still interesting, kind of makes you naturally better at understanding writing and makes you subconsciously remember rules. it's a lot better than trying to memorize a lot of rules by themselves, but if you only have a bit of time that may be the only way.
thank you, i have been struggling to improve my score in practice tests.
this video is amazing, you really help me a lot
I have like less than two months to prepare but I have no motivation. Last time I took it was several months ago and I got a 1040 after study for 3 weeks 😭 I really really need motivation because I don’t want to keep procrastinating.
Can I ask how old u are because I’m 15 currently and am thinking of taking them at the end of year 11 when I’m 16 (I’m from the uk) and I’m not sure how old I’m supposed to be to take them
I am taking an SAT this December, I hope to come back here with better results.

How did it go
Hello, thank you for video, I want to ask you, how long you prepared to sat? Can I take 1500+ during the 2 months preparation?
hi! i prepared for around 2-3 months before taking my test. i would say hitting your goal score in 2 months is definitely doable if you're able to dedicate enough time to prepping or are used to taking standardized tests.
@@joyzou hey so would 16 weeks be enough then and doable with IB diploma program

@@monster_inside_of_me hey where r u from I need a little help
Thanks you!! Very good advice :)
On my PSAT, I got 1390/1440, do you believe this could transfer at all on the SAT? How wide is the gap in difficulty from the questions in your (or anyone who's taken the SAT) opinion?
I'd also like to say this was a really well-made video, and I'll definitely be coming to rewatch it in the future!
Thank you for your advices and motivation 😊

owh good luck though, i'm sure you'll improve plenty!

I am an international student and you might be aware of the new digital pattern of the SAT. I want to prepare for the new English section of the SAT with one question per passage and I need your help for that. Can you please upload a 15 Day SAT Digital English prep. Thanks!
Thanks so much, this is so motivating.
This was so helpful thanks so much !!
Pretty insightful ❤️
I have a question, for practice tests mainly math are they all following the same concept as the actual sat meaning you learn how to solve a problem on the practice test right will how you solve that problem will be the same way you solve it on the SAT?
You're amazing ❤️ loved your video
hey idk if you'll read this or if anyone will read this, but maybe I can get a reply.
I’m taking the august SAT and your video is so helpful! Thank you thank you thank you!

What should be a goal score for an A and B student that is average in every subject? I don’t want to shoot too high nor too low.
why dont you wanna shoot high if youre not putting youre all in school which is easy the least you can do is put your all in tests like sat
Thank you thank you thank you ❤I feel less stressed now 😅
I'm preparing for SAT now and will be very appreciative if you recommend me some study books you used during your preparation. May be Baron's, Kaplan or Princeton Review. Who's better?
I'm in 8th grade and I'm taking the SAT in November, wish me luck😅
How long did you study for before you took the test?
Hey i have a question acutally i can't afford to study abroad so can i get admission at your university if i scored high in sat? I mean will i get scholarship?
What do you recommend for international students. English is not taught at my school. I recently got 1310 with EWBRW 620. How can I improve my Language section?
Thank you so much!
I’m a 10th grader, and I’m taking it next week sturday
good luck1
How's the results?
Does anyone know what a 32-34 on the act would be compared to sat? If so would these be comparable skills for a 32-34 on act studying?
According to the ACT website, a 32 is anywhere from 1420-1440. A 33 is anywhere from 1450-1480. A 34 is a 1490-1520.
does everything in this video still apply for students taking the psat?

What practice tests and drills do you recommend?
i have a question!! the thing i’m struggling with the most is timing, on my psat i literally only got through half of the questions in each section.
@@joyzou oh okay thanks!!
