The $7500 credit is not paid by the government, it's paid by the taxpayer. This is why it needs to go away. Elon agrees, but also agrees that oil subsidies should also go away. When the $7500 credit goes away, EV companies will suffer, except for Tesla who will prosper because they already profit from every vehicle sold by a wide margin. Other companies negative margins will get worse
If the cars are manufactured in the United States you wouldn't have to worry about Tariffs. That is the whole point of the tariffs, build your business in America.
Trump's tarrifs aren't targeted. They're blanket tarrifs. There are numerous products, parts, etc that can't be made or grown in the US. So US consumers will have no choice but to pay the cost increase.
