This is such a helpful video! I usually use a 180 grit with Lexy gels so I’ll definitely start using the 100 grit during prep.

I love these videos!! So helpful! What do you recommend on the client has severe overgrown cuticles? Thank you! ❤️

I would use the same method that Darcy just showed, but you may want to try the Cutie Patootie and the Buffy bits to really help to push back and exfoliate those severely overgrown cuticles. I prefer to use the diamond bits to exfoliate instead of a nipper to cut, but you can always play around with it and see what works. I hope this helps!

I have a question. Do you use a 180 or 100 grip side of a file if you're applying only buttercream gels??

    • @darcyolin

Hi Kellee, ButterCream gels are a hard color gel and should not be applied directly on the natural nail. ButterCreams should be applied over either a Lexy Line Gel or JimmyGel.
I do suggest buffing the product used on the nails, using the Foamie File before applying ButterCream. The ButterCreams apply so thin, the Foamie will eliminate scratches, making the surface nice and smooth.

Please…can I ask what brand gloves you’re wearing or where to purchase? The material is it butyl, rubber or latex cuz they don’t eat away from the cleanser or acetone. I’ve tried too many and end up having to toss. Gloves.. a tool to protect but not really discussed or easy to find to purchase. Hope that makes sense. BTW I can not get enough of your tutorials!!! TY

Hello, we typically use Nitrile Gloves here at LEHQ!

I'm prepping correctly. Will using a dehydrator and primer cause lifting? I'm having this issue and I'm not sure what's causing it. I'm using the clear builder hard gel. I've never had this issue before.

Are you using Light Elegance products? It is hard to answer this without knowing exactly what products and curing lamp you are using. Typically, it would not, unless the nail is already dry and it may not be the right combination of bonding agents for this person! We would recommend trying different bonding agents and perhaps even trying a different hard gel viscosity as the gel could be too "hard" for the natural nail and you may need something more flexible. Hope this helps!
