You guys make such a great duo! I love how you both dive into the science behind nail products, and each make it approachable for non nerds in different ways
I don't even like soak off builder gels but I watched this because I love your explanation of products. You're an eloquent speaker and it shows when you explain products. You don't ever come off pretentious but it's very evident that you're coming from an educated background. Thanks for the awesome content!
I’m so excited about this product! I used to do my gel polish services with a similar product until I found out I was allergic to literally every brand of gel except light elegance. This will cut my overlay times by 20-30 minutes! So excited!
Looks amazing. I know you said how, but can you do a video on doing a fill so we can see it in action with this product..........would this be good for a short nail that the client pushes on the tips of fingers frequently for there work? They get a lot of lifting in the rear with more rigid products like acrylic.
I recently purchased and used jimmygel for the first time and I used it for a fill with existing lexi, I flew through the fill, I was shocked, and i did using the brush it came with which I always find more difficult and usually apply with my akzentz 111. I will continue to learn how to work with it but so far very happy with the product so much so I bought 2 more bottles.
OMG - Thank you Liz! I used GBI BIAB, this is a game changer. I'm switching all my natural clients, about 1/2 my clientele. I always used the other for overlays and LE glitter & Butter Creams for color.... I can finally stay with the same line... Thanks so much for the video!
Soooo glad LE has come out with this product! 😀👍 I've tried Luminary because I like the idea and ease of using a biab gel but LE is my fav gel line. Can't wait to order it. 😀
I'm excited for this! I really like the strength and increased length hard gel provides, but it would be amazing to have the option to soak off. Occasionally I just don't want to put the effort into doing a manicure, and this way I wouldn't feel locked into doing that back fill every 3 weeks. I'm definitely getting this!
I cannot wait to get my hands on this… I’m going to wait to get it at PREMIERE Orlando. Thank you for introducing the product and I can’t wait to see you. I would love a class on e-filing… I’ve been using my Erica’s ATA a lot more and feeling more confident with Cuticle work but would love to learn the backfilling part
Yesss!! Can’t wait to buy this! LE has become my hands down favorite line to work with! I’ve been using madam glam builder in a bottle for soak off but best believe I will be switching!! No hate on madam glam but I like to work with the same line of products throughout my services! I’m excited🤓
Shimmy Shimmy Shimmy with Jimmy reminds me of a song of the 60's Yummy Yummy I have love in my tummy!!! Well this looks like a yummy product!!! Thanks for sharing !!! Now I must just get my hands on the product!!! Take care!! Lots of hugs!! 💞💅🏼🤗🇿🇦
Hi Liz! I love all of your videos, they have helped me a lot in my career. I was wondering if you think using jimmy gel as an overlay on long natural nails would be ideal?
Liz I love how you go into detail and explain ever detail. What chemically makes it possible to put a hard gel over this soft gel and not have any service breakdown or shattering? Thanks.
It comes down to finished textures. If you put a thin sheet of glass on top of a waterbed it's probably going to break at some point. Gels are similar. As long as the products used and the finished nail all create the same finished texture then there shouldn't be any issue whether it's hard or soak off gel. That's why I always paint some product on a nail form the first time I use it and see how it behaves. Then I know what it will work with and what it won't.
Thanks for taking the time to illuminate the science and applications of these products in a clear and concise way. I think I'm only as good doing nails (unlicensed) because of you and Susie/NCE.
What is the process for building extensions with this product? Is it done just the same as a regular gel? How long can it be backfilled before you would have to soak off and reapply? Thanks
So I think he answered this.. but I can put Jimmy gel under stay 1 step or cool gel. So if im not as comfortable filing off because I know there is a damaged nail or i dont feel skilled enough to do it safely, I can then stop and soak off the last little bit?
Lisa George good for you. I just might follow in your footsteps. I hope all goes well for you Lisa. I really do. It’s exciting, starting a new chapter. Good luck in school, I’m sure you’ll ace it
Question... Can you use Jimmy gel OVER a builder gel/structured extension so that you can keep the extension and soak off the bulk of the Jimmy nail? For example: tack, hard builder, Jimmy, color, top... I ask because I don't have an efile yet, but I don't want to manually file all 10, and I also don't want to soak off and rebuild the extension EVERY time. Manually filling just takes FOREVER!! Does acetone weaken the builder HARD gel?
How often would you recommend actually soaking off the jimmy gel between fills.. is there any need I’d you’re using gel polish /color gel over the top of it and filing it off?
What a great product! Congratulation Jim! This will be a big addition to the line. just wondering, if buy chance your gel colour layer isnt totally smooth can you file it to smooth it out or are you better to top coat then file ? Here’s from down under !
You’re better off encapsulating it with clear before filing but I have done both. Depends on the color and hope much you need to file. Sometimes you can see those spots and sometimes you can’t.
I snorted when you said, "Shimmy my Jimmy." I can be so immature, lol. What a great looking product. Is it light feeling on the hand? Or is there a "weight" to it?
I'm still a little confused because I'm confused in general on what base gel to use with manicures that want gel polish. Is this good to use on clients that have weak nails that bend but won't end up cracking because the gel is too hard? Also, is this ok to use with other gel polish brands? Thanks
I know most products aren’t recommended to be used with other brands. But 😅lol Do you recommend this specific product can be used with diff brand gel colors and top coats? I just recently bought it and don’t own any light elegance gels or products. It’s my first. So I’m wondering if it’ll go good with other high quality gels? :)
MIssy Chen I like luminary alone for those wanting a natural color (all the pinks are gorgeous). For being able to soak off LE colors and glitters (which are hard gel) I like jimmygel. It puffs up and everything pops off. Check out our most recent video to see removal. Luminary doesn’t swell or puff.
How would JimmyGel compare to Mani-Cure? As far as I understand Mani-cure is a hard gel, but what about viscosity and flexibility when compared to JimmyGel?
Liz: Two questions: 1) I noticed you left on the tacky layer before applying hard gel. I saw an LE video where the tacky layer was removed prior to applying P+ (and no base gel was used over the JG before applying the P+ color). Is that how you apply the P+, removing tacky layer of JG prior to applying P+ or will leaving the tacky layer of JG create better adhesion? 2) In removing the P+ layer, if I soak off the P+, won't it remove the JG as well? and therefore, would you recommend filing the P+ instead or ? thanks in advance for your advice.
Hi Lynda, I’m not sure why they removed the sticky layer as it’s not necessary to do so. Sometimes techs will dry wipe a nail which means they use a clean brush to wipe off the nail and make the inhibition layer less slippery. This can sometimes help if you have issues with the color flooding the cuticle or sidewalls, but I have not seen that at all with Jimmygel and P+. Might have just been that person’s personal preference. But to answer your question, no you don’t have to remove the tacky layer when continuing with another LE color or glitter product.
@@TheNailHub Okay. Got it. Thanks. If you could, I would appreciate an answer to "2)" above, which is: In removing the P+ layer, if I soak off the P+, won't it remove the JG as well? and therefore, would you recommend filing the P+ instead or ? thanks in advance for your advice.
Liz i have heard you say u never clean your brushes . that u always leave gel in them. Does this include your color gel brushes? And if you do clean them how? I feel like i am cleaning them well between colors... But always have left over color. Thanks Liz. You are so awesome.
Hi is there any chance you could explain what is the difference between tack and Powerbond and why you have used tack here under jimmy gel? I’m about to do and order and just wanna make sure I’m getting the right products x
Tack is a bonder. Whereas power bond is more like a hard gel base. If you put powerbond on you won’t be able to soak of Jimmy gel and it will be a harder layer underneath

Say you cleansed the tacky layer off the Jimmy gel and left it as it is, then the next day decided you wanted to apply a P+ polish how would you do that? Would you apply base over the shiny Jimmy after cleaning or tack then polish? Thanks.
In this particular example I would recommend lightly filing the jimmygel, cleansing it, and then applying the p+. If it were fresh like sat under an hr after curing it would still most likely bond without issue but it’s almost as if the gel continues to cure after ward and gets less and less porous with additional time. Hope that makes sense.
Build does not adhere to the natural nail plate without a base coat. They are also from different companies and their formulas are distinct. We recommend you get the BIAB that goes with your gel color line as mixing and matching can cause product incompatibilities.
Hi Liz can you please help me I bought the hard gel light elegance And it won’t last not even a day on all my clients can you tell what is the problem? I have one client that no matter what I apply on her nails it won’t last for more than a week
I have a client that is struggling to keep Jimmy overlays on. I use Vita Prime and Tack. She has short natural nails. She does deliver for Amazon though so uses her hands! Yesterday she returned after 3 weeks - 4 nails missing :( what can I do?
Make a micro extension on them so her natural nail is not at the end. Soak off gel wears down with a lot of rubbing so she is most likely wearing through your capped seal within the first 5 days and then her natural nail is getting exposed.
This is base coat and builder in one but you can use it as just base coat too. If you put a bonder down (i.e. Tack) you’ll get extra adhesion. But it’s not necessary.

Hello, is Jimmy gel similar to rubber base, so a stronger base coat? Or is it more similar to soak off builder gel?
I snorted when you said, "Shimmy my Jimmy." I can be so immature, lol. What a great looking product. Is it light feeling on the hand? Or is there a "weight" to it?
Feels totally weightless. Most gel feels much lighter on the finger than other alternatives like acrylic.
I can’t wait to get the JimmyGel! So this can be used instead of the Mani-Cure gel if your purpose is to soak off?
Yes exactly!
I'm still a little confused because I'm confused in general on what base gel to use with manicures that want gel polish. Is this good to use on clients that have weak nails that bend but won't end up cracking because the gel is too hard? Also, is this ok to use with other gel polish brands? Thanks

How would JimmyGel compare to Mani-Cure? As far as I understand Mani-cure is a hard gel, but what about viscosity and flexibility when compared to JimmyGel?
It’s similar. JimmyGel is a tad thinner and less sticky feeling. It also is a true soak off.
Thanks! I think I'll try it!
Can you use Jimmy gel over a soak off gel polish?
How does this compared to the luminary gel? Is the adhesion just as good? Is there any heat spike with it?
Literally zero heat from this one and the adhesion is great.

In between. Does not require a lot of etching. Light pass with a 150 or 180 grit file will do it.

Hi there, could you please let me know where can I purchase the fake finger that you use in the video?
Vivilovedoll Red Iguana site
Best Practice Hand For Nails ruclips.net/video/AFWGKYGHIJA/видео.html
Can you use this over tips with nail enhancements?
Yes but not on super long nails and also make sure you apply proper structure/apex
Does this replace any base coat or do we need to use another one before applying?
This is base coat and builder in one but you can use it as just base coat too. If you put a bonder down (i.e. Tack) you’ll get extra adhesion. But it’s not necessary.
@@TheNailHub ok thanks for letting me know. I'm excited to try!❤
Would Jimmy gel be a add on service? Or would I charge normal price of shellac or hard gel services
Is this a semi hard gel? #shimmyWITHmyJIMMY
Jimmy gel or build by luxio!?
Can you use another brand of hard gel on top?
I suppose so but mixing and matching can cause unforeseen issues due to formula incompatibilities. Just fair warning. You’d have to test thoroughly.
